Fantastic coffee shop with a wide variety of beverages and baked goods. Very sweet and helpful staff members. Large, well-appointed and comfortable dining area with huge windows.

We arrived on a bustling Thursday morning around 10:00 and found many customers working away, easily focusing despite all the activity. The barista team was very efficient and focused. The chai latte smelled amazing! The flavor was delicious--just the right level of chai. The hot chocolate had a great presentation, no typical whipped cream topping. It also wasn't heavy sweet. While we visited Portland we visited many coffee shops; Case Study Coffee was definitely one of our favorites! I encourage you to come check it out.

Case Study -- cute name for a coffee shop. It's the standard of mill of what you would expect in the cafe -- good coffee and nice selection of pastries, so perfect for when you want a little treat with your cup of java. We ordered: - [ ] Vanilla Latte -- tastes good. - [ ] Turmeric Golden Milk - Better than I had expected, meaning not powdery but drink its way, way too sweet. I recommend asking with less honey. I do see all tables occupied and this is one of a few coffees shop in Portland with steady crowd and more folks lingering. A lot of shops on Downtown closes early including this cafe. One of my favorite little touches at Case Study is the "question of the day" they post at the counter--something fun or quirky to ponder while you wait for your coffee. They even leave out pens so you can doodle or jot down your answer on countertop. It's such a small gesture, but it makes the space feel warm, creative, and human. Just wrote "Yelp"! Good coffee, great vibes, and a reason to put your phone down for a minute and sit with a friend. Love this spot!

Nice café with a good vibe

it is about 90°F outside. Just stepped in to Case Study. AC is on. I feel so cool. So, I'm rolling with my favorite midday drink - cappuccino. First time at this coffee shop so I'm comparing the taste utility to a "cap" at Barista or Stumptown. it is a two shot espresso with whole milk, temperature about 150, very well balanced (acidity to sweetness with a little bitter back taste) - robust flavor with three origins - Columbia, Ethiopia and Mexico. The single cup of cappuccino is sourced from around the world and in my world makes my world today! Nice going case study. See you again.

    Jasmine matcha latte (iced)

I was visiting Portland for a work trip and I came here twice for their jasmine matcha latte. I hadn't seen jasmine with matcha before at a cafe and it was so good I had to come back and get it again! I got it cold both times and it had a nice jasmine flavor which went well with the matcha. Definitely recommend if you like matcha It's a bigger cafe that has tons of seating inside which is nice.

I'd give it a 3.5 I always wanted to try and so here we are! Finally got to drop by instead of seeing it on the max. Environment: It is a little loud but I'm sure some people could work there. It has an old cozy vibe feel and there were all kinds of seating. Staff: They were okay, they got my order and that was it. I said thank you to them lol. Drink: I got their latte with regular milk and such. I always get something 'normal' or 'typical' if it's my first time. The price was a little higher for the size I got (their "small"). The coffee was fragrant and strong but later on as I kept drinking the aftertaste got more sour for me. It was sour in the end so I probably wouldn't try again because of that. If you don't mind the more fruit and sour tastes, go ahead!

Order: 12 ounce vanilla latte hot Pros: you know I base a good latte on whether or not I have to add sugar. If I have to add sugar to me that means it's not really good latte. This place has really good hot vanilla lattes. I do not have to add sugar. It's just sweet enough to enjoy and not bitter. Love this coffee place. Cons: none

Amazing coffee!!! I had a cortado and the espresso was delicious and paired perfectly with the buttery, flaky blueberry scone. The inside of the shop has a vintage feel and beautiful view of downtown Portland due to its large windows. What a cozy rainy morning and vibe it was

Please do yourself a favor and get the starbursts mocha. It was just delicious! The location is also very nice with the windows it's a nice spot to chill, or work or just slowly drink coffee. The staff was very friendly, but again - please go get the strawberry mocha it tastes like a strawberry covered chocolate

This was an awesome cafe on a nice chilly morning - great vibes and good array of seating.

A nice respite from shopping downtown with great espresso and house made syrups. I sauntered in and was greeted by a friendly, happy person and chose the bourbon caramel latte. They also have vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut, honey lavender, salted caramel, and coffee blossom honey. What a treat!

If you know me, you know I loveee matcha, so stopping by Case Study Coffee was a must! Even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing, the barista was super friendly and patient, walking us through the menu with a smile. I went for the Iced Jasmine Matcha, while my friend got the Hot Matcha, and we both absolutely loved our drinks! Very cozy, quaint atmosphere made it the perfect spot to unwind, sip, and chat. Definitely adding this to your must try list of go-to coffee shops!

I have mixed feelings about my visit this morning. They make you feel welcome the second you walk in. The modern, cool design of the space is top tier. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when grabbing a coffee in Portland. I also love their progressive approach to dairy; they default to plant based milks and there is no upcharge for them, which is a huge win for accessibility and sustainability. The Cons: Unfortunately, the experience was completely undercut by the quality of the pour. The oat milk curdled almost immediately. I am well aware that Stumptown uses a more naturally acidic brew, which is a science experiment waiting to happen with plant milks, and I know it is technically safe to drink. However, the separation completely ruins the mouthfeel. Instead of a creamy, cohesive sip, I was left with a watery base and grainy floaties. It is disappointing to be told that this is normal when specialty cafes have the tools like barista grade buffers and temperature control to prevent this. While the ethics and the aesthetic are on point, a drink that looks and feels curdled just is not an acceptable standard to serve to customers. Summary: Great people, great space, great pricing, but the technical execution of the plant based drinks needs a serious overhaul.

I have probably spent a couple thousand dollars on their business. Not being able to pour my cup of coffee in a to-go cup when leaving is ridiculous and not standard practice. I found this out the hard way when I had ordered a drip coffee for here and, when leaving, the women kinda snapped at me when I kindly asked for an 8oz to-go cup. I'm on their bi weekly coffee subscription. I'm located in Portland and my bag of beans was routed from Portland to Detroit, then San Francisco then back to my home in Portland on my last order. How odd. I tried reaching out to them to figure out what's going on and there is no way of contacting their business. Their website has no contact information and I called multiple times and no one would pick up the phone. I finally found a personal gmail account linked to their business somewhere on their google business profile but no one ever responded to me. I find it to be very odd that they're running an online business, you can't contact them, and they don't have anyone attending customer service. That's very bad practice. If it weren't for how good the coffee is, PushXPull would be dead last on my preferred coffee shop. I'll update my review once these issues are addressed.
