This is for the Barstow Ca. office location. I really do feel betrayed by the staff that I relied…read moreupon. The old doctor got me a machine to thump on my chest to break up the residue from my COPD. That doctor retired and for 3 months, the company who made the machine tried to get basic paperwork from Dr. Sharma's office. I tied, they tried and I even got the office and company talking directly. The best I could get out of the office lady was, "I thought I sent that". I stayed because I liked the PA there. Part 2: Medicine for Diabetics got really expensive, so I switch from a supplemental medicare to an Advantage Plan directly for diabetics. Dr. Sharma's office was not covered or any of their groups. Ok, I will pay for the doctor visits. Labs were covered and sent to the PA, Medication scrips were still filled by the PA, and paying $85 five or six times a year for visits still saved a lot for this retired teacher. Here is the real betrayal. The Advantage Plan sent a real simple document. Have your medical provider confirm that you are a diabetic. I got a call from this same lady who messed up with the previous paperwork telling me they can's sigh it. Why? Because I was a cash customer now. I just had an office visit and paid my $85, so why. We wont do it because you are a cash customer, so no, with a period tone in her voice. I could have understood that I needed another office visit or a sum of money because I was a cash costumer, but it was just a flat no. Now I am looking at a bill I received today for my last office visit, and the receipt for that visit that I paid for several weeks earlier. Basic Dr. Sharma's office in Barstow, got it wrong again.

She is very thorough and she takes the time to listen to you. I have been going to Dr. Baba now for many years and she has treated both my son's and my husband as well. You just need to be patient with everyone of her staff because everyone in that office cares about the patients.

First visit, fyi, they tell you to come in and fill out papers and bring your insurance card before they schedule you. They can't verify your insurance over the phone or use email. My appointment for May was rescheduled without my confirmation that the time would work for a month further out due to provider being gone that day. A sick day understandable ok. I found this out when I called for my phone appointment: So I called into the office on the day it was rescheduled for a phone appointment due to Covid precautions (June 2022...?) and held for 20 min til they told me they would have the dr call me there is one patient in front of me. They run behind on phone call visits? You don't even have to turn over rooms or wait on people.. anyway. I never received a call back - I even double checked the first go round they had my correct phone number. I waited patiently to try to call them again to see what happened but they didn't answer the phone. This office has no voicemail available or answering service. I tried to call again yesterday and again got the error that their voicemail box was full. Hmmm. Something very odd going on here I've never heard of such a poorly managed practice since I haven't been able to see in person. I hope they get it together I can't imagine they have any happy patients if this is how it is for everyone. Looks like other reviews had similar issues.

It was incredibly embarrassing and unprofessional. I expressed to her how uncomfortable and mortified I felt, but she showed no empathy and did not apologize. Her attitude remained dismissive, which only made the situation worse. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and discretion, especially when it comes to personal financial matters. I have left messages, time and time again. They set up a phone visit with Dr. Patel, yet NO ONE CALLS ME. I have been waiting months on months to get an appointment for a voice call. NOTHING EVER GETS DONE. Do not use this practice, unless you don't want to be seen, don't want a tele health return call. This is just unacceptable behavior. I have called over 20 times on just one day and nothing, no one returns calls, it outrageous, when you seriously need some help. The office workers are awful.
