This is one of the fastest and best Mexican restaurants around. Great tamales, too! Terrific service and good prices. Hidden gem.

Love this patio great food too!

Excellent place super authentic, friendly service, great food great patio! Try it you won't be disappointed

My buddy and I stopped here after a long day of cycling through Santa Cruz. Burritos always sound like a great recovery meal after hitting the pedals. There aren't a ton of options for burritos in Aptos so we took a gamble on Casa Rossy. Somewhat recessed and sandwiched between other food establishments, this place is so easy to miss. I've frequented the other nearby Mexican food business to enjoy its outdoor seating area which comes with a view. Unfortunately, this place doesn't offer much in terms of ambience. The outdoor seating is plentiful but your view is limited to Center Avenue and the parking spaces out front. Still, not a deal breaker and maybe the food was going to "wow" us. We were promptly seated when we entered and there was a nice small area for us to keep our bikes in plain sight. Sweet! We were given complimentary chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. I have to say that the menus themselves could use some improvement. With 6 burritos to chose from but zero description of what they contain, it's hard to saw what differentiates their California Burrito from their Super Burrito, Regular Burrito, etc... I opted for the Ca burrito. It came out very quickly and I appreciated it being cut in half for me. A variety of salsa options are available by request. I recommend the "spicy" orange colored one. It's not a sweat dripping off your forehead kinda spice but it has a decent kick. The burrito itself was "meh". A bit too greasy for my liking and the fries stuffed inside tasted more like a baked potato than anything else. The tamale was a bit dry and they delivered the incorrect one. Overall, I'd give the food a 6/10. More authentic than chipotle but definitely a lot heavier and greasier. The ambiance left a bit to be desired. There's a small bathroom that was in need of a refresh and the same could be said for the tables themselves. The table we sat at was wiped down in front of us but it's a bit unsightly to see a bunch of bugs sandwiched between the clear plastic that is covering the table and the tablecloth underneath (see attached photos). I may give this place another try in the future but it'll probably be "to-go" next time.

I ordered a California Burrito with Al pastor. It was delicious. One of the best burritos I ever had. The salsa and orange chili sauce they brought to the table was also delicious. I can't wait to go back

Not a fancy place. Located in a cute strip mall. We were welcomed by a nice girl at the register. Ordered to go. And waited. They have a small self serve salsa bar which was nice. Food was okay. Carne asada burrito supreme smaller in size for price point. Fajitas plate okay.

i came here on a sunday around 1130, following the wharf to wharf race. since everyone was either staying in capitola, by the race finish, or heading back to santa cruz, start line/parking area, aptos was pretty empty, which worked great for my friends and i. we were seated right away since there was only 1 other party present, ironically, another wharf to wharf participant! we basically had the interior to ourselves, as well as all the staff, which was great! i ordered the veggie omelet, with onions, bell peppers, and avocado, with side of spanish rice and whole beans. the omelet was pretty ordinary, 2-3 eggs with some veggies inside. the avocado was very fresh, and i enjoyed the whole beans very much, no salt, no oil, just the fiber! they actually forgot my side of rice, and when i asked, they immediately brought out a large plate of rice, bigger than what my friends had...i thanked them immensely! the rice was yummy, but too much for me, so i actually packed it to take home for dinner! there is a single unisex restroom in the front of the restaurant. plenty of parking outside the restaurant, along center avenue. on a busy day, you can always park on the side streets, a short walk away. the beach is also a very short walk from the restaurant. i look forward to returning for lunch and trying one of their taco plates or burritos!

We've been back here several times now, and so really wanted to like this convenient neighborhood eatery, but they just can't guarantee a consistent quality of food and service. We have enjoyed the Fish tacos... batter fried Baja style. Fresh and tasty. Beef Quesabirrias are also very tasty and are served with consomme when dining in. Chilaquiles are usually good, but today we ordered it with chicken and the kitchen forgot to add it and the server (who should know us by now) tried to charge us the extra $3 for it telling us "with or without meat is the same price"... no it isn't... just check your menu. We have also experienced other annoyances over the last few visits... Pinto instead of black beans on our order, missing chicken before on a Chilaquiles with meat order, once was an off putting unclean restroom, server who doesn't check on how the food was, etc. I guess we won't be coming here as often as we otherwise might if they were better with their customer service.

Found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. We've been back twice and will definitely come back again. This is a restaurant with actual seating, but we took our meals to go. There staff is nice, works fast and very friendly. The food is really good; the hubby always gets a big burrito and I always get tacos. Both are accompanied by fresh tortilla chips and a variety of salsas. If you are looking for some authentic Mexican food, look no further.

So delicious! This spot is kind of hidden and you have to walk through a gate to order. I totatlly recommend if you want authentic Mexican food. I got the super burrito with the choice of Birria meat. So good!! The meat was extremely fresh and the sauce was delicious. The wrapping for the burrito could of been better. Covid: wear a mask. Parking: small parking lot near by and parking spaces near restaurant Image 1: Menu Image 2: Birria Super Burrito I normally don't write about workers since places may vary and sometimes workers just have bad days. However I was quite disappointed in the worker not wearing a mask and was FaceTiming her friend while we were ordering.

Cheese and Jalapeño tamale with a side of amazing guacamole.

Thank you for changing things up. We had lunch on Sunday after hearing you brought old Palapas menu items back -- excellent thought process. The Prawns Parrilla was outstanding, and the presentation was terrific. Two people ordered that item, and both really enjoyed it. I also loved the beans. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos, and those were delicious too. Thank you for bringing back chips in a basket and changing the chips back to what they used to be. Change is good, but keeping popular longtime favorites while improving their presentation will bring back the old timers. I look forward to my next visit. Loved the service too! There really isn't much in the "Village"- to me it was a large parking area with some stores and services. Nevertheless I was up for the seafood Mex experience. We went about 12:15- the place is on two levels and you can sit outside and get a nice view of the Weather cooperates- it didn't so we were inside which was ok. The menu is traditional Mex with a seafood focus. I had the fish tacos, cod, and high expectations, they were accompanied with homemade refried beans and rice. They were excellent- light and tasty not the heavy glue type fairly common. The complimentary chips were light tasty and also homemade. I really liked them. The fish tacos were a huge disappointment. They came out almost black in color and covered with a deep fried batter that would rival kFC! NO bueno! My daughter had the ceviche-a small one dimensional dish of just white fish. No excitement unfortunately. Last dish was standard tacos--- they were ok Overall a "3". The place was pretty empty. I don't think they get a lot of foot traffic- give it a try but be selective on what you order.

But we have yet had a bad experience here dining. My last visit my friend and I decided to share appetizers so we could try a variety of items and try a few things on the menu. Everything was so tasty! The onion rings were crispy and came with bbq sauce, one of my fav items we got! TIP: It is a good option to order for a large group, it is a large portion for $10. We also shared the burrata and tapenade, I like that it came with balsamic glaze for a savory and sweet effect. We got the Mac and cheese and added short rib. It was a really large portion too! It was as $15 for the Mac and + $9 for the short rib I believe which I didn't think was a bad price at all for what we given. We had a ton left over which will last us 2 days as a side dish for dinner later on. Buffalo wings came with 11 wings, they were garlicky and the buffalo sauce had great flavor. Overall this is always a great spot to drop by for dinner, drinks, and/or appetizers. It's easy going here, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious.

Pros: Food was excellent and we are def coming back again. The smoked Gouda Mac n cheese was amazing and the serving was huge for an appetizer. The charcuterie was on point, they could have added more crostini. Cheeseburger patty was perfectly cooked to order. It was well done but still moist. The seared ahi tuna salad was yummy!! Just the right ratio of salad and dressing and there were plenty of ahi tuna. Our server was great and the food came fast. She had a few recommendations which we ordered and she constantly checked to see how we were doing. 4 stars because the inside looked so much better than the outside. They could spend more time upgrading the outside seating area especially by the fence. Parking is a little rough when it's busy. We just got lucky we found one right away. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're in the area.

They gave a generous amount of chicken+shrimp on the tacos so we put the extra meat on the nachos!
