    Crispy Taco with carnitas

This is my favorite taqueria anywhere. I love to pick up take out and head to the beach nearby to enjoy. I always get crispy tacos or a super burrito. Carnitas and Al Pastor are . The salsa bar is amazing too. Food is fresh and comes out quickly. Parking is super easy.

I am absolutely in love with this place! I came to Aptos to visit a friend and we decided on this spot for dinner. It was a quick drive from our Airbnb. Upon arrival, there were about 10 people in line in front of us. The staff were friendly and efficient, and it wasn't long before we were able to place our orders. We tried some of the delicious chips and salsas from the salsa bar, and our burritos came out shortly afterwards. I had the California burrito which was massive and delicious! I usually finish my meal, but this was one I had to pack up and save for later that night. The only change I would make was that the chicken was advertised as pollo asado/grilled chicken, but came out more like braised chicken (without the grilled flavor and spice). Throughout our visit, the line to the cashier stayed around 10 people, with lots of locals coming and going. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu here!

I know you want to go to this place for their tacos, burritos, toastadas and enchiladas. They are good but I want to encourage you all to try their other goods. One such is Diablo shrimp (camarones a la diabla). You won't be disappointed- spicy, flavorful, comforting. Comes with side of beans, rice and creamy avocado crema to calm down those spices. Beef fajitas - another classic, plenty of meat, sides and tortillas provided. Some of the other recommendations I have are - Menudo on Sat and Sun, Camarones rancheros, their torta and tostada are fantastic as well.

This is for the service. The young woman who rang me up, entered her own tip. I ordered. I used my tap feature, and she hit the screen and gave me my receipt. I did not even get a chance to choose how much I tipped or even if I wanted to tip. one burrito one drink on a takeout order, she tipped herself $3. I wrote an email to whoever. I hope they train this young woman that that is theft and not OK. Get your receipt and look at the tip. SHAME

**3.75 stars overall** Food/Menu: 3.5 stars Price: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Location: 4 stars This Pericos is a conveniently-located fast food taqueria in the Safeway shopping area, in the same building as Peet's. There is easy parking and plenty of tables inside. I've seen a few large groups dining there. There is always a long line to order, but I see that as a positive: it's a testament to how much people like the food! Most seem to order to-go, so seating hasn't been a problem for me. The food is cooked quickly, the staff clears tables right away, and the flavors are on-point! I like the chips and salsa bar, though I prefer my chips thicker and salted. To be frank, I think the food is a little above average, the price is decent, but it's the service I like most. They are quick and friendly here. I even heard one of the cooks singing to the music when I was eating! Love that! It shows people enjoy working there, which creates a positive vibe.

We were visiting Aptos for a few days and looking for a place for a quick and good lunch.....and seeing this is a regular spot our hosts come to for such a meal, they suggested bringing us here since we also enjoy a good quick mexican meal. The place is situated in what appeared like a pretty small, but busy, local neighborhood shopping center. The restaurant itself is fast casual, very spacious with a decent number of tables inside. You basically get in a line, place and pay for your order, and wait till your name is called....for takeaways at least. What I really liked about this place is that they have a small sauce bar with a good variety of salsa sauces ....with a chip pan next to it where you help yourself to chips. Service was also very nice and friendly too. We usually like a good burrito, so we ordered a Perico Burrito with chicken (your choice of meat) and the Turbo Burrito....comes with fish and shrimp. Firstly, the burritos are huge!....and secondly, they are stuffed with really fresh and really yummy ingredients....and the tortillas have a nice, thin, and springy texture to them too. Both our burritos were very good, but I thought the Turbo Burrito with fish and shrimp was my absolute favorite with that yummy sauce that made everything so moist, cream, and delicious. Unexpectedly, the burritos were so large that I honestly couldn't even finish one by myself! But I am glad I got to taste at least some of the seafood and some of the chicken burritos as they were both very good.

This is my favorite taqueria in the county! The folks who work there are kind, quick, and diligent. I've never been disappointed by a meal at Los Pericos. Lots of seating inside with a bar area, two large clean restrooms. The Perico taco and Baja Perico taco are my favorite, I love the cheese grilled onto the tortilla.

EXCEPTIONAL! I WOULD GET THEM TATTOO'd!!! Make your way to here if you're craving authentic and well rounded Mexican food! Heres what YOU ARE ORDERING: :) 1. 2-3 "Pericos" Tacos - Poyo/Chicken - Light/no onions & Regular Quesadilla This superb combo is the main reason I would come here and the main reason I DO! Additionally You could do just: 1.Giant Quesadilla This thing does it all and is essentially a big arse burito that applies some good cheese!

I've been here twice already, and no matter the time I went late at night, or 2pm midday, there's always people there. I think that enough should say something about how good the food is. Super freshly tasting and the thing that stood out was definitely the avocado in the perico burrito. Atmosphere is super welcoming and would recommend this spot to locals and travelers.

Pericos Super - fish and shrimp. It's soooo good.

Best value for your dollar in Aptos. Their burritos are humongous. Also, if you're in a hurry, you can order online.

Started with a passionfruit bellini and ordered the Country Fried Steak and eggs. I liked that I could sub the home potatoes for really yummy french fries. Food came out really quick and like that you can sub 6 baby pancakes over the potatoes and toast. They were cute and fluffy. I got the biscuit and gravy with my steak and the gravy was a bit bland. The biscuit was fluffy but also a bit dry at the same time. Everything else was really tasty!

Red Apple Cafe was... alright. Not bad, but not something I'd go out of my way for again. The coffee was pretty mediocre, nothing memorable, especially for a place that seems known for its baked goods. The cinnamon roll was honestly disappointing. It lacked flavor and wasn't as soft or fresh as you'd hope, especially for something that should be a standout item. The one redeeming factor was the blueberry muffin, which was actually really good. Moist, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the entire visit. Overall, it's a decent stop if you're already nearby, but not worth a special trip or the price point in my opinion.

When I say I've been coming to Sunrise Cafe for a long time, I'm not over-exaggerating. I used to…read morecome here every Sunday with my grandma growing up--this was my spot! Not to date myself, but that's in the range of ~30 years ago. We had a usual booth, usual orders, and we saw the same waitstaff and cooks every week. This was a tradition I looked forward to all week long, since it was one of the only times I got to eat breakfast out at a restaurant regularly. While I live up in The Peninsula now, my parents are still down in Aptos. It was long overdue, but I had been telling my wife for years when we'd drive by the story of how I used to go there, and she'd always suggest that we go back one day. Well friends, that day finally came! On a recent trip to visit my folks and a childhood friend, we decided to take a family outing to Sunrise Cafe on Sunday morning for a good ol' nostalgic breakfast. PARKING: There is both street parking, and a dedicated lot in the back. Since the main entrance is located right on Soquel, I definitely recommend using the back for a more private and safe parking option. They also have an entrance in the back so you don't have to walk all the way around! SEATING: You check in towards the front end of the counter, where the register is. Since we came on a Sunday, it was full when we got there. There's a counter with eight (8) seats, as well as a half dozen or so booths on the left as you come in the front, and some other seating on the right. It did appear as if they shortened the tables, as they didn't reach out to the end of the booth seats. We ended up having to wait around 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad. DRINKS: They have a lot of the standards you'd expect to find at a cafe. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice (apple, orange, grapefruit, cranberry), soda (Coke products), iced tea, and mimosas ($6.50!). A few of us ordered coffee--good, not epic. The OJ is from concentrate, otherwise I would have ordered a glass. FOOD: A nice 3-page menu of breakfast and lunch options. Many of the standards, with combos of eggs and breakfast meats (bacon, sausage, ham, Linguisa, chicken apple sausage). There's a list of scrambles, omelets, eggs Benedict, and "Solar Delights" which has corned beef & hash, country fried steak, and a tofu veggie dish. For lunch they have a variety of sandwiches (hot & cold), burgers, and salads. We went for breakfast, and between the four of us we ordered: Sunrise Special (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, home fries & toast or biscuit), French toast, corned beef & hash, and the Western Scramble (Corralitos jalapeño sausage, onion, topped with 2 scrambled eggs, chili beans & cheddar cheese). The food was all solid. The corned beef was chunky and seemed fresher than "from the can". The French toast looked tasty, and my dad said he liked it. My mom enjoyed her Sunrise Special, as a standard cafe breakfast. I ordered the Western Scramble and it was pretty wild; a huge mound of hearty deliciousness. It was enough food that I was able to take some of it, plus half a biscuit home and enjoy it for another breakfast a few days later. The potatoes were one of my favorite things growing up, so I do wish I had ordered a side, or something that allowed me to enjoy them on their own. OVERALL: This was a great nostalgia meal, and I'm super glad I came back. We found out that they changed ownership around four (4) years ago, so while it's not quite the exact same place, it's pretty darn close. I appreciate the friendly and hardworking staff, and will definitely come back on a future visit home! IG: @bbnem.eats

The eggs were dry, the sausage was too (and I love corralitos sausage!). The potatoes didn't have a lot of flavor. The best thing was the carrot muffin. My husband had the pancake special. Unfortunately, nothing special about that dish. We've had some good meals here, but the quality has gone down while the prices have gone up! I understand that everything is going up, but the quality should be the same. We were both disappointed.
