I ordered three tacos, one Baja fish and two Asada tacos with chips and salsa and a bottle Coke the total came out to be $20.93 and took about 15 mins even with no one in there before me. The tacos were amazing, great flavor on both of them. The service could use some help, I had to go back twice to ask them for the salsa they forgot then again for the chips they forgot. Their chips and salsa is something I would stay away from. One of the best burritos I've had in a long time. I got the burrito con todo with al pastor. My daughter got the same but vegetarian. For me, burritos in most Mexican restaurants are pretty similar (similar ingredients). This was just a bit different which was enough for it to stand above the average one. I got the Baja fish taco which was very good. The fish was flaky and you get a decent amount of the condiments (cabbage, lime). However the taco is small and I'd recommend getting two ($5 each). My husband got a burrito and was disappointed by how small it was. He ended up making more food for himself when we got home. He did say he enjoyed the flavors and liked their carne asada. We also got a kids flautas for our toddler. Unfortunately this was a big disappointment. The portion size was just fine, it was two flautas with a side of sour cream and cheese but the chicken was fried in such a way that it was incredibly overdone and had the texture of jerky. The chicken was just plain, no seasoning at all but my main issue is that it was so dry and tough I felt like it was a choking hazard even for an adult. My favorites are the burrito con todo and the fish tacos. I've also tried the 2 for $5 tacos and shrimp burrito. The shrimp burrito is not very flavorful but if you add some salsa, it's alright. Looked for a place that wasn't too pricey in a touristy area and Yelp suggested this so decided to try it out. In a good location where it's near Capitola beach. Ordered the Mijo's burrito with carne asada. They offered three different sauces and I asked for one of each. I think it's cool they give you a whole bottle of it. Wish the burrito had less rice and more carne asada. The meat was slightly charred which gave a unique taste, I also liked the at they were thinly sliced so the bites were easy. Coming back from Monterey, we decided to make a quick stop in Capitola for some last minute beach fun, as well as some food to tide us over for the ride home. We walked around and saw Mijo's, so decided to grab some food here to satisfy our craving. Mijo's is take out only, and does not offer any dine-in options. Order at the window, and wait outside for them to call your order. Although there was not much of a line outside, we still had to wait about 20mins before our food was finally ready. I'm assuming they must have been prepping a large order inside, or gearing up for some catering event, to explain the long wait for our order. I would say for Norcal, this is the best tacos we have had so far- its pretty close to San Diego tacos. We ordered the al pastor street tacos, baja fish tacos and the tangia tacos. Their hot salsa is really good too and you can eat them at the beach nearby! The only things that could've made it better was if the al pastor had more pineapple pieces and the fish tacos needed to be double tortilla wrapped cause it was breaking. read more

Hands-down, the best nachos in town! Very clean and authentic and family style. It's all women in the kitchen. You can tell everything is made with care. WOW! What a GEM!! So we were visiting Capitola for our first time. We were looking for a place to have dinner close to our B&B . Went to YELP and found this place. It fit the bill by meeting the two most important requirements - 1) Must be within walking distance, and 2) Must be at least 4 Stars. So we walked for at least six minutes and found it! It's a very small place. You walk in and order and pay - then sit and they bring your food out to you. We had the chips and guacamole for a starter, then some tacos and I had a side order of refried beans with cheese. They have a big menu with a TON of choices. When we ordered, I saw the cook put the meat on the grill...grilled fresh to order! The chips are excellent. I like that are the thicker ones and they are perfectly cooked and salted. The guac was excellent as was the accompanying salsa. Not too hot and had great flavor. I had the Street Tacos - with Carnitas and with al pastor. They were very good! The meat was tender, and flavorful and there was plenty of it on the tacos. They are served with Cilantro and onions. I'm definitely a fan. They have a few different sauces available - Pico, Mild, Roja, Morita, Mijos Green, Spicy, Habanero. Check out the bottle tops...they make it EASY to get plenty of sauce on your taco. I chose the Spicy, which was very tasty and spicy. I like HOT! I also had a side of refried beans, which I love! they were thick, hot and had great flavor! The service was excellent. We were the only ones sitting in the restaurant - but they had quite a few people come it during the course of our stay to pick up carry-out. The staff came to our table a couple times to check on us - which isn't common in my vast dining experience. We liked the chips and salsa so much we bought another order to take back to the B&B for a late night snack. Definitely what would be called a hole in the wall. You might miss it if you were driving around looking for a place to go - but make sure you go to Mijo's if you're in Capitola. I promise you'll LOVE it! read more

Cute little hole in the wall! My fiancé , brother in law and I decided to grab lunch from here. They ended up getting the grilled chicken burritos, which were huge! But they add grilled habaneros, which really gave it a nice kick. I ended up getting the carne asada tacos, classic and you can't go wrong with them! Mijo's is a small counter service taqueria in Capitola. The staff is friendly and the food came quickly despite going with a group of six. Their Baja Fish tacos, selection of salsas, and Horchata are all excellent. My only gripe is a little too much cabbage on the tacos but that's personal preference. read more
