I came here on a sunny day in January around 12.30ish. I ordered at the counter and tried to look for a table - but didn't find any - so got takeout As soon as I was done I saw a table empty out - and I took that one. The staff was kind enough to accomodate the change. Worst Mexican food I've had in Santa Cruz, tortillas did not taste fresh, they use way too much cabbage and their beans had no flavor.

Decided to stop in with my family of 4 (2 very young children). The gentleman taking orders did not give off "welcome!" More like "what is it you want?" Once we ordered, the food was ready rather quickly. However instead of calling our entire order once ready, he called all 4 of our dishes separately. Minor. I can deal with this, but didn't seem efficient or organized. We received 4 of the 5 items we ordered. The last item (chips and salsa) we did not receive. After giving it 20 minutes, I finally went and asked about this. In doing so, i was hardly acknowledged and was handed a basket of chips, with no salsa. After asking about the salsa, I was handed two small plastic containers of salsa. After the money we spent here, this felt like a slap in the face. I'll say, the food was good. They got my order wrong, probably overpaid. By the time I sat down on the beach I just accepted it. Tacos were stingy on meat/shrimp. The contents were a wet indecipherable goo of guac, salsa, a few pintos and meat bits topped with a some shredded cabbage and pico de gallo. They were good but for the location I would expect something a bit more quality. Not very fancy and it is what it is. Drinks were self serve in a fridge. Almost like going to a gas station. Gotta ask to use the bathroom and have them unlock it for you. Not a very customer service friendly place. A kid actually rang me up and served me and he didn't really seem to know what was going on. You just go up to the counter and order your food and go find a spot to sit. I think I just have better expectations for being such a high tourist spot and a beautiful location you'd have a better customer friendly type restaurant style place. If you're craving street tacos after a couple hours at the beach (and let's face, who isn't), then Tacos Moreno 3 fits the bill! Although we were a bit disappointed in the lack of seating (just three small tables outside - everything else belongs to Zelda's), we found ourselves quite content with the beachside view. We ordered the super nachos, the street tacos, and a fish taco. My favorites were definitely the fish taco and the shrimp street taco! The nachos we got were a bit soggy, and we were left with a lot more topping than chips. We also were disappointed in the lack of drink options, although it was easy enough to order drinks at Zelda's and bring them back to our table. Overall, there's definitely some improvements that could be made with the food, drink options, and seating... but it's sure hard to be too unhappy eating a fresh street taco on the beach. read more

Stopped by for lunch since I was near the beach and it was a pleasant experience. I was a little weary due to the menu looking a little sparse. But I prefer it when a place has less to choose from because it generally means that whatever they have to offer is good and you can't really go wrong with any choice. I got the street tacos for $11 and it was 3 tacos for $11....They were okay. I loved how the tortillas were slightly fried giving it a crunchy texture but it was still able to fold as you try and smoosh everything into your mouth. The only thing is that some of the meats that I had were over cooked so it made it a little too chewy. I also would have liked to see some chips and salsa or some drinks like horchata or just some extra hot sauces on the table. ~~Parking: I was staying close by, so I was there within walking distance but they do have street parking available. It's the shared beach parking, so it can be difficult to find parking depending on the time you arrive. ~~Service: Good. The moment my friend and I decided to go in was of course when there were like 3 other parties that decided to eat here as well and walked in while I was reading the menu outside. So it took a while with only one cashier, but it was fine. ~~Best Part: They have 2 tables outside where you can see the beach and smell the fresh air. They have your typical burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and nachos at this location so being it my first time trying here, I decided to try the shrimp taco and a super carne asada nachos (the shrimp taco was recommended by a local here). Wait time was not too bad and you also have the option to sit in the front outdoor seating area too to enjoy people watching throughout the afternoon. The shrimp street nachos were perfect, not dry, and dressed with a nice sauce and cabbage beneath inside a corn tortilla. I could have just ordered 2 plates of shrimp and fish tacos and gone with my day! The super nachos I also ordered to share was basic with what it was for toppings but I don't know why, maybe it was because I was just hungry but the nachos here were spectacular. Chips were fried and lightly crisp, sprinkled with a carne asada bits, and pickled jalepeno peppers and mozzarella cheese. This is something anyone could have easily make at home yet it tasted amazing for lunch. This visit was a spontaneous visit but it was definitely a visit that I'd remember to come back to visit once more.
