Our first time at this restaurant was a pleasant surprise, and we appreciated the attention and the generous servings of our meals. We all agreed that the food was wonderful.The menu offerings were extensive. Something on the menu for everyone. Was so happy to visit them in their new location. Food, service and decor were great! We had 3 different types of Egg Benedict, Salmon, Bacon and Avocado and traditional. All were cooked perfectly. You could choose hash-browns or fruit and both were delicious. We were pleased that they had their cinnamon coffee at the new location too. Our Waiter was incredible. Quick service with a smile. Great breakfast place, family operated on top of that. Came here due to the reviews, was def worth it. We got corned beef hash, Chile Verde omelette, pancakes and avocado toast. The Chile Verde was great, salty and flavorful with a slight spiciness. Combined with the omelette, it was a great treat in the corn tortillas. Beef hash was solid, albeit not too special but the hash brown was crunchy. Pancake was fluffy and decorated with banana and strawberries. Don't expect rush service and enjoy. read more

This place is not fancy, trendy or hip. However if you want to go to a friendly cozy place with good food this is it! This is a welcoming family-owned and run place where they treat you like you are visiting their home. I enjoyed the hamburger with handmade patties that were juicy and flavorful. The only thing I would change is the bun as it got moist and was a little to soft to hold up to the hefty meat patty. The Salmon Eggs Benedict had generous portions the hollandaise sauce was particularly good and the accompanying hash browns were cooked to perfection being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. read more

We were visiting Santa Cruz, California to celebrate my nephew graduating from UCSC @ucsc and decided to walk up the street five minutes from the oceanfront Airbnb looking onto Twin Lake State Beach. My brother-in-law, a longtime Yelp user, found this highly-rated and reviewed Mexican spot, Evarista's Comal Restaurant @evaristascomal. Everyone there was extremely nice, and the chef and owner even came out to talk to us. The food was fresh and delicious - made to order. We ordered: - Special Café de Olla (x2) - Mexican cinnamon spiced coffee with brown sugar - Complementary chips and good salsa. - Guacamole & Chips to share - Fried Calamari to share - very tasty and fresh! With fries, roasted chili, salsa, and burnt lemon half. We didn't see the appetizers on the menu so just ask the server and they'll let you know what they have. - Salmon Benedict - on English muffin, sliced avocado, 6 oz salmon, hollandaise sauce, and 2 poached eggs, served with hash browns or fruit cup. My daughter loved this, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. - FRIDAY WEEKLY SPECIAL - Bistek Ranchero with rice, beans, cabbage, sliced avocado, 4 corn tortillas. Hubs said this was absolutely delicious and ate everything. - Carne Asada Plate - Served with Rice, Beans & Corn Tortillas - my other daughter said this was very good and ate most of the plates herself. - Rockfish Tacos - Served with Chips, Cilantro, Cabbage - YUM! So glad I ordered these tacos. I didn't think I'd be able to, but I ate everyone. We returned to Evarista's Comal this weekend, having breakfast in their new location. The new spot is bright and clean and pretty. But most importantly the food is still great and the service is friendly, kind, and careful. I had an omelette with chili Verde, the filling was so good! My husband had his regular eggs and toast and bacon and he was happy. In fact, he liked it so much that we had breakfast there both weekend days, Saturday and Sunday. Had lunch here with my team today and loved it. The food at Evarista's Comal was AMAZING. We had the fish tacos and the birria, both were so good and the homemade tortillas were next level. The service made it even better. The owner and his son greeted us and took care of our table, which made the whole experience feel really welcoming and personal. Great Mexican restaurant (with a few non-mexican dishes such as burger and breakfast items) at the Capitola Mall. I'm told this restaurant just moved to the Mall (just to the left of the Main entrance) a couple months ago and it's a great addition. We went there with our dog as it's dog friendly (outside seating for that) and they brought out a nice bowl of water for our small dog. I ordered the Salmon Sandwich and it was VERY tasty - especially the bread (I wonder if they make it there as it was so fresh). We also had Rock Fish taco's (tasty and beautiful presentation) and a couple other items. Service was excellent and all the food was well prepared and tasty (my wife especially liked the tangy sauce on the tacos). Top marks for a smaller family run restaurant! Today I visited Evarista's Comal Restaurant and ordered the Chilaquiles with over-easy eggs, choosing both the red and green sauces for the perfect balance of flavors, along with a side of fresh corn tortillas. I had to go here to check this spot out. Especially when I'm the biggest fan of Chilaquiles. I had them with a side of meat with your choice. I chose birria. I added the red salsa and it was everything I thought it would be. I also got a side of pancakes with berries and banana. I also tried the huevos rancheros. It was amazing also and one of there specials. They play really nice Mexican music and I think it's just an amazing place to have breakfast. I give this place 4 stars for the food it is really good.
