Stopped by for the first time today and was warmly welcomed. I ordered take out and what stands out is the freshness, unique salsas and sauces, fresh tasting tortillas. Delicious street tacos, I tried the Baja fish and al pastor, which were so yummy! I also got the veggie burrito which is generous and full of delicious sauteed veggies, guac, pico de gallo and crema. Generous bag of free chips and a really delicious house salsa. The place is very clean and the staff is warm and attentive. As a local I want to encourage you to stop in! read more

I've eaten at the newly opened Corazon de Leon twice now, and both times have been excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was fresh, interesting, and delicious. Ben Lomond really benefits from having this fine sit-down Mexican restaurant. I'm sure they'll open their patio, and sitting out back will only add to the experience. The ambience would benefit from having dimmable lighting in the main dining area. It was a bit too bright, and harsh for a relaxing meal after a day of work. And it will be nice when they eventually offer a full bar, as I'm sure they'll serve a tasty Margarita. I'm hoping they can maintain the current level of quality food and service, as too many restaurants in the area struggle with maintaining consistency on both fronts. I wish them well, and hope they stay in this location for quite some time. read more

A new dine-in restaurant in Ben Lomond which I was excited to try and to support a business in a small mountain town. The parking lot had a few spaces when we arrived at 6pm, we were seated almost immediately. The restaurant is decorated nicely and brightly lit. Our waitress offered water and was very nice. There were many diners seated inside and out. The outdoor dining is under redwood trees. I am sure it is quite an experience. We ordered enchiladas and pozole. My pozole was the perfect size and not too spicy just the way I like it. I will definitely be back for it. I wish I had taken a picture of it. read more

This is our new spot for dinner for a great price. We decided to enjoy the outdoor seating today. Very spacious! Looks like it would be good for a party. Food has been great! Service was attentive. I was a little thrown off when the server didn't bring the check to the table but asked us to pay with the handheld? We wanted to pay cash, would be nice to give guests the option and to review the check. Cash is better for business anyhow. We are looking forward to the next date! read more

Finally got a chance to try out this New Mexican restaurant located at the former Casa Nostra location in Ben Lomond. It was a wonderful experience. The food was fresh and delicious. We were seated outside since it was a warm evening on a Tuesday. In the past, we have usually chosen to sit under the trees or in the patio area on the other side of the building. Apparently, they don't open that side during the week. Hopefully as their popularity grows...that will change. We were seated outside. They brought us water, chips and salsa. They do not have alcohol yet. Hopefully, soon. I had a fish and shrimp taco. My partner had the Chili Colorado with pork. Both were served hot and fairly quickly. Everything was tasty. Looking forward to get the Seafood Soup. Nice local new choice. read more

The people are so nice and really aim to please. We want to support them and so offer a couple of suggestions. The chicken enchiladas were dry and needed much more sauce and some cheese. The steak used in the fajitas was paper thin and overcooked. The food is very fresh. The pinto beans are very good. They need a few more weeks to get in sync. Stark looking restaurant. We waited quite a bit in lobby while waitress sat at bar killing time in her own space not greeting anyone or putting a list of names for seating? Not enough menus to go around. It was quite Chaotic on Friday. The right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. Staff going in and out of kitchen with confusion on what to or who to take order from etc. When our food arrived the beans were cold the rice was cold, chips were stale. They had some older gentleman playing piano why? It's a mexican restaurant. This really killed the mexican restaurant ambiance. Food presentation was ok but food needs to be hot when served. Every one of the staff members seemed confused on their duties. Being overwhelmed and they could not figure out what to do. May give it another try but will wait until they get settled in. read more

What an amazing addition to Ben Lomond! We enjoyed everything about Corazon De Leon. The service was top notch without being overly intrusive and we felt very welcome! The restaurant was clean and decorated with warm colors and lovely plants. Now... the food! The Birria tacos were amazing and the consume to dip them in so flavorful! I'm afraid this place is gonna fail. No phone number? No website? Beer and wine only on the weekends? I had to ask for napkins and utensils. And the waitress did not understand when I ordered the dish I wanted, because the name of it was in Spanish. I understand it's hard to get a full liquor license, but man margaritas sure would be nice with sit down Mexican food. This feels like a glorified taco truck. ordered a wet burrito. when it came out, it looked so delicious and nicely prepared. the flavor was phenomenal!!! the service was so great; friendly, helpful, and generous! the ambience is amazing: the bar area has a gorgeous redwood slab which feels very inviting, then the next area inside is more like fine dining, and last but not least, the outside is a little more relaxing with all the redwood trees. it's amazing to have different options of seating. First time that I went there as the same owners that own the Taco Truck own this restaurant, so I was excited as the food on the Taco truck parked in Boulder Creek is good, but a little on the pricey side. I ordered Mole Chicken. It was over cooked, the chicken thigh was dry. The service was OK, not the best. I will go back in the future and redo my review if I have a better experience next time. read more

Went on the grand opening Valentine's Day. They only had a buffet which was great because you could try many dishes. Loved the mole which was very mild. The chili verde sauce and salsas were good. They had tasty al pastor cut from the spit. Homemade corn tortillas, horchata tasty. Lots of great flavors. Service was good. The mariachi band was great. Looked clean & fresh. Parking lot was full upon arrival however there was hardly anyone inside. Most people were seated on the deck. Service was attentive, but the wait on the kitchen wasn't ideal. It was a little odd leaving to the whole place being nearly empty when our wait for 2 plates was so long. The person I dined with wasn't opposed to their chimichanga, I wasn't a huge fan when I tried it but I don't tend to order them. However my chicken enchilada left much to be desired. The outside is lightly dressed in cheese, salsa, lettuce, sour cream, tomato slices and a small amount of white onion. The inside is what I'd equate to bland boiled light meat chicken. No sauce no peppers or anything to accompany it. The outside dressing was barely enough to counter the dryness, I'd recommend an additional cup of the salsa if you order it. Despite ordering "refried beans" there's nothing refried about them. Pinto beans and cheese, which isn't offensive by any means but not as described. The Spanish rice was as expected. Towards the end of my meal I had to stop eating due to the food not sitting in my stomach without protest. I've not fallen sick but it wasn't a pleasant feeling on the way home. Opening up in an area already well populated with choices of Mexican food, I wasn't hit with any exceptionality to persuade me from just visiting one of the multiple taquerias. For a sit down restaurant I'd hope for something to set it apart from the many quick stops nearby. For the cost, wait time and food, I don't see myself going out of my way to come back. I want to offer this place some grace considering how recently it opened. I wish nothing but the best for them, I know this building has trouble keeping restaurants long term. I hope they continue to improve and maintain this establishment. Maybe I'll have a better experience in the future if I come back. read more
