This place is a must see for sure the ambience is everything. They have multiple seating areas all beautifully decorated. They have private rooms for small or large groups. They have plenty of photo ops, clean bathrooms that are decorated themselves and very attentive friendly staff presentation definitely is a top priority for this location. Their desserts look almost too beautiful to eat their drinks come in multiple variety, even special seasonal ones and pricing is very fair. We placed an order for two cold drinks was mistakenly given one hot latte, but had no problem correct in the order flavor was amazing for our blended drink iced coffee had a little bit too much milk for my liking, but still had a decent flavor. The review is only based on their seasonal pumpkin coffee drink I ordered. It comes in a cute little pumpkin with a nice little design. I've been to this place a few times, and each time I come, I'm never fully satisfied. Sometimes it's the service, sometimes it's my order. The last time I came here, my sister and I ordered 2 different frappes, and then after ordering we were told they were out of the ingredients for both of those frappes, and their only options were chai or vanilla. So we both ordered chai. It's definitely that powdered chai from Costco, which isn't bad, but we were hoping for something a little better. To eat, I ordered a carrot cake. It was beautiful to look at, but once I cut into it, I realized it was way more frosting than cake. Then I noticed there was a fruit fly nestled under the chocolate topping. My sister ordered a crepe cake. Though quite unappealing to the eye, (I think it had black frosting?) it tasted pretty good. It had only a few crepe layers and had mostly cream. It's a really cute spot, but I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon. read more

Really cute cafe with excellent coffees and sandwiches. Unfortunately we got bad service which is why I gave 3 stars. My niece ordered the smoked salmon croissant sandwich as I did and a specialty coffee and they completely forgot her order! First she canceled the sandwich when she asked for it and realized they didn't put the order in. Then after that she waited for her coffee and they also did not make it. Just terrible. I didn't feel inclined to tip. They were friendly and courteous but when a customer just doesn't get their order is bad. It definitely is a hot little spot in Tecate. When they ran my credit card and asked me if I wanted to leave a tip I told her honestly they didn't give good service. read more

I know, I know. People love this place for reasons that I have yet to understand. If you're looking for a place to have a hot and sweetened beverage that vaguely resembles coffee, then this is it. It is not, however, "Fine, artisan coffee" as their sign suggests. The place is quaint and prettily decorated, their menu is ample and the price range is acceptable. It is, however, overrated and falls short in quality when compared to many other local venues that do serve specialty coffee. This place is a gem! They have the best coffee (seriously--I love my coffee and I'm not easily impressed) plus a selection of delicious cakes (I didn't succumb, but my mum's boyfriend said the cheesecake was the best he's ever had). The waiters were all charming and attentive and patient with our awful Spanish (we tried!) and the cafe has such a unique ambiance that's almost magical. Really highly recommend, though I'd recommend visiting Tecate in general. I always enjoy it there. read more

My husband and I visited this place and we were very disappointed I had a chai and my husband ordered a latte , first of all my chai was so bad that I could not even finish it and I don't understand how a chai can be messed up my husbands latte literally tasted like water with milk the coffee was nowhere to be found we also bought a pastry and it was really expensive I don't know how that was worth it, I do have to say that the place is OK looking and it's close to the border but apart from that I would not recommend read more

The pumpkin latte and caramelo coffee was decent. The service was not so good though. I realize it's more difficult for me to get great service because I'm not 100% fluent in Spanish but I had to tell the lady in 3 different ways what our order was to get our drinks. I would have assumed they would being them to us after we sat down, or at least called out my fiance's name since they took it down when we ordered. There was a table with a group of 5 or 6 people who were extremely loud and obnoxious so we decided that we wanted to leave and asked to have our drinks to go and my fiance ordered a piece of pastel to go and then went to the restroom. I stood there at the counter for 5 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me and give us the drinks in a to go cup and the pastel (which was not very cheap by the way). At that point there was only one person there to make drinks and work the register, the other person was in the back, doing god knows what. The people behind me got impatient and left. We received the to go box with the pastel and he told us what was in the to go box, and the two cups to go and we headed to our car. Once we were about to eat it, we noticed that the pastel appears to be one that looks like someone ate off of it. Maybe a mistake, but I don't know if we'll go back anytime soon. Also, the bathrooms were not that clean and we really, really wanted to go here because we saw a cool ad on Facebook and we had been taking about going there for weeks.
