This review has less to do with the food and more to do with the absolutely rude manager who made my husband move his truck because of the rude complaints of another customer who seemed to not know how to park their vehicle. The food here is amazing. We love their gluten free options. My husband is celiac and was able to eat here. He loved the pizza and GF chocolate cheesecake. I always have the mostacolli which is my favorite. They have a large menu with many choices for everyone's tastes, but don't forget the dessert! You should definitely try their casa salad which is over the top delicious. They have their own dressing. Customer service at this location is top notch. We had a mistake in our order and they fixed it right away. Staff was very nice and attentive. This location can get quite busy at times so make reservations or pick a time that is not your typical lunch/dinner hours. read more

If you try to match Casa with other Italian restaurants in other cities, you will notice that they execute well and have made the effort of providing a competitive experience. There is something in their menu for everyone. The fact that many of their servers have worked there since their teenage years also shows they are good employers. It is a relaxed experience. Whenever I return to Fort Wayne, I always try to make it back to one of the Casa's restaurants. I've been coming to this particular location, Casa Grille for over 22 years, and I remember when they first opened. Hard to believe I've never written a review during all those years. The appeal of Casa's Italian food is hard to describe to non-residents of Fort Wayne, but I'll take a stab at it: The food quality is good, but more importantly, the food quantity is an awesome value for your dollar. When I'm eating Italian food, which is my biggest weakness in life, I always like to have a little left over for the next day, whether it's pizza or pasta. Casa's doesn't skimp on the portion sizes. Maybe that's why they're so well known in Fort Wayne. The best endorsement I can give is this: We moved away from Fort Wayne several years ago. When we go back to visit friends or relatives, we only go to those few restaurants that are at the top of our list. Casa's is among those two or three restaurants at the very top. read more

Casa Grille is one of my all time favorite restaurants to visit when I am in Fort Wayne. Almost all of the food they serve is top notch quality I would expect out of such a fine establishment. I had visited today with my family to celebrate my Grandmother's 90'th birthday. We had a party of around 18 guests so the waitress had a lot on her plate. The great thing about it is she did great! I wish I had gotten her name to give her a shoutout but she was very attentive to us refilling our water when we needed it, asking how our food was, and was overall a good waitress. The only two downsides to the experience were that the bread tasted as if it had either been under baked or was a little on the older side. The bread they serve is usually one of my favorites when visiting Casa. I was slightly disappointed to taste the bread in this state. The other issue is that the food had taken around 40-45 minutes to come out. This could possibly be attributed to our large party size. Other than those two things, everything checked out. I had ordered the Pollo al Griglia which is an eight ounce grilled chicken breast. The entre came with two sides. I had chosen the fried countryside potatoes and a cup of the Zuppa di Fagioli (bean soup). Both sides were excellent. Waitress was kind of short with us and rude and definitely in a hurry because she had our large group of about 15 and other tables as well. The best moment of the dinner was the tiramisu. Tonight was our first visit to Casa Grille in over a year. The good news is that the pasta is still very good, served promptly, and valued reasonably. The bad news is that they have gone cheap on the bread. Previously we looked forward to the bread served with the salads and pastas but, no longer. They have undoubtedly saved a few pennies (otherwise someone should be fired, imo). I've had better prepackaged bread from the grocery store! If you're a fan of bread with your pasta, stay away. I have gone here for nearly my whole life and have never really had a bad experience. I will admit the customer service is pretty good but I have definitely seen better. I hate putting in negative updates but I felt I had to here. Over the past year we've come here about 5 times. My wife and our friends all agree that something seems to have changed. Firstly, the quality of the food. At least 3 times, our food came out lukewarm. One time, the lasagna was actually frozen in the middle. I want to make sure and point out that the manager made it right so we were pleased. Secondly, the flavor of the Alfredo sauce used to be rich and bold. The last 2 times, we found it to be bland. There was a lack of creaminess and garlic. Maybe we just got a bad batch? I'm not sure. Thirdly, I'm not sure if the waitstaff is overworked, but we've had some lackluster service. Be it forgetting the salads, refilling the drinks, or getting our orders right there just seemed to be a decline in the service. We understand, of course that people have off days. This is not to say that every experience was bad. The majority of the times, our server did a fabulous job and Management has always been very accommodating. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city. It's a nice place for a family dinner, and everyone always seems to be very nice! The salad at Casa's is amazing. I ate more salad yesterday than I have in my whole life! They also bring bread to the table, and that's pretty good. I ordered the Mostaccioli Al Forno which is delicious! A perfect alternative option for Olive Garden excellent ambience and amazing food at such a reasonable price. We were seated immediately and greeted pleasantly by the waitress who indeed was happily serving us in with a complimentary olive oil some Parmesan cheese and soft hot freshly made bread so that we can munch on while waiting for the food. I love the open fire for cooking in the middle of the restaurant and also the interior decoration catches the eyes. There are multiple options for seatings as in the bar area or the atrium in the center as well on sides. They have a list of variety of menu's/items to order for that it confuses and tempting... I will never step foot in another Casa Restaurant. I encountered totally unacceptable service from the store manager, that is apparently supported by the corporate office. Called about an incorrect carry out order that I was taking about 30-40 miles away. I should have checked the order before I left because two customers ahead of me had very large carry outs and neither one of them were correct. They had to have been placed the day before due to the time of the pick-up. When I got to my destination with the food and discovered it was wrong, I called the store to tell them, and basically got a 'sorry about that". I called back and talked to the manager and explained the specialness about this order, he was cold, simply said give me your name, have a store credit. I wasn't looking for monetary gain, I was looking for professionalism, and truly, empathy. When I tried to talk further with him, due to the special circumstances surrounding this order and how It crushed me to disappoint the people receiving the order, his response, verbatim was "I don't need this shit and hung up on me. I was not using foul language nor raising my voice. Corporate said we will look into this and get back to you. They never did reach back after saying they were handing this over to upper management and to expect a call from them. Any company who supports that behavior does not deserve the loyalty of a long-time customer who believes in "shop local". There is a very nice locally owned Italian Restaurant (not by Casa) that will be getting all my business and any of my friends, family, co-workers, out of town visitors I can influence. read more

We stopped in before continuing home to Wisconsin. First, the bartender, Brett, knows his stuff. Service and conversation were both spot on. Second, this was the best meal I have had in a very long time. The salad was fresh and crisp with just enough of that one-of-a-kind dressing. I went with a group of 11 people, so perhaps that influenced our experience. The service was slow, no drink refills were offered. No one was particularly friendly. The food was average. My spinach and cheese ravioli had no flavor and the cream sauce was bland. I paid extra for a side salad with droopy lettuce, cheese, and red pepper bits. The dressing was flavorful. My husband had the meat lasagna and he said it was "meaty and zesty". The rich flavorful sauce had an underlying sweetness. Three in the party had tortellini and enjoyed it. My Wife and I chose to have our 20 year Anniversity there tonight and were extremely disappointed with our meals. We've dined there at least 20 times over the last 2 years and never were disappointed. We both had bruschetta, salads and Shrimp Scampi and all 3 lacked any flavoring. Have been coming to Casa Grille for over 15 years. Always a terrific experience! The chicken parm rivals some of the best I've had and the canoli is outstanding. The pizzas are also very well done. Service is exceptional, as the servers, hosts and other staff are all very friendly, consistently. A nice touch- we are relocating to Las Vegas in a few days and the owner Tom thanked me for years of visiting his restaurant (while I thanked him for years of fantastic dining) and graciously gave us several bottles of their famous in-house dressing as a gift (they are known for their outstanding house salad). Don't go here for a taste of Italy. That doesn't mean it's bad. It's a good Midwestern interpretation of classic Italian dishes served in classic Midwestern portions at good prices. I tried the risotto Alberto first. It wasn't as creamy as I've had some risottos and they over loaded it with zucchini and asparagus and a large hunk of chicken. With risotto I'm a big fan of less is more. My daughter looked enviously at my risotto and was a big disappointed with her linguine alfredo. I traded her because I'm the best dad in the world. The alfredo was done pretty well. I'm had alfredo too often where it's a mushy ball. I think it's because the pasta is cooked and then mixed with too much sauce which cooks the pasta into a chewy gun. Not this time. It almost had a light quality too it. My only quibble would be the portions. Like I said, they were mid-western. Huge. Intimidating even. If you are eating a piece of brea, an app and then an entire entree, you are really eating too damn much. The prices are pretty low but I'd prefer they'd knock them down to half the size and a buck off the price. It'd still be fair. Finally, I find the place just slightly uncomfortable. A bit too on the nose. A bit too open. We sat on the main floor which had the feeling of being on stage. read more

This is a great place to dine in for some Italian food in Fort Wayne. I've been here so many times and I never left the place feeling disappointed. The staffs are really friendly and I never have to wait for more than 10 mins for seatings (even on a Saturday!) There's also a bar to the right once you walk in. As for the menu, they have a large selection of pastas! My favorite pasta is the Linguine Tutto Mare which has a lot of seafood (mussels, clams, and shrimp). I'm a seafood type of girl :). My family has come here for years, and our family company uses them frequently for staff lunches and whatever. Their casa salad is delicious! A small is more than enough for one person. Maybe ask for a protein on top? Maybe ask for dressing on the side just because they tend to be heavy-handed. My sister loves anything-Alfredo they do, with whatever extras she wants. I'm fond of their rolled eggplant appetizer. It's a pretty place, nice tables and lighting and etc. Today I ordered takeout while I was at the Kroger that shares a parking lot, so it was waiting for me when I got there. The phone-girl was friendly. The host-guy left a bit to be desired. The bread that automatically comes with the salad and whatever else is O K. It's cold white bread with butter packets. In a desperate situation I would appreciate it, but usually I ask for no bread because it's nothing special and there's no sense having it just to eat because it's there. After discussion with an employee, I found out that their pastas are vegan and so is their lentil soup. (Their spinach ravioli is made with cheese). I had the lentil soup and Casa salad (no cheese; added walnuts) and this made a nice vegan dinner. My companions enjoyed their meals. Food was piping hot. Service was great. They forgot the pine nuts on my salad but corrected it immediately. The extra star is really due to fond memories. I'm going to try to be blunt and to the point so management will see opportunities for improvement. Greeting was borderline rude. We were then seated at the farthest table on the left of the restaurant next to the emergency exit. The dining room was virtually empty at 6pm on a Monday night. Hostess dumped our menus, marched off and we didn't see a server for several minutes. Nope, that is a lie, we just didn't see OUR server. Ordered appetizers of the sampler platter and the "Chicago" pizza and a side salad for my daughter. Server informed me that the pizza wasn't actually an app so it may take longer. I said that's fine and told her to come back to me for my entree orders. She came back with the salad and I ordered the veal risotto (split) and spaghetti and meatball for my daughter. Here's where it gets messy. Daughters side salad arrives, antipasto platter arrives 2 minutes after, followed 2 minutes later by the pizza (so that's what she meant), and the split side salad. 2 minutes later the risotto arrived with the spaghetti. All courses delivered to the table at once. Not really much room. The food, pretty dismal. The platter actually had canned nacho cheese as one of the dips, as well as melted butter. Yes, that's what I want, to dip my mozzarella sticks in more cheese or butter. The whole thing (eggplant, ravioli, mozzarella sticks, breadsticks) was super salty. The "Chicago" pizza, well, it's just not now is it. You've just folded the edges up and put the sauce on top. The sausage though, what the...... there seemed to be almost a whole breakfast patty on each square, I just don't understand. Why? Is that standard? The risotto is rice pudding-like, the veal was burnt and crispy, but the walnut stuff was good. Drink refills were not offered until we received boxes (to package our food up ourselves at the table) while asked "are you getting dessert?" as I see my check in the servers hand. Casa Grille is over hyped. The food doesn't taste like authentic homemade Italian - not to me anyway. The red sauce tastes as though it were prepared in a food factory rather than a kitchen. Rather bland as well. The Lasagna is good, but nothing that will knock the salami out of your pants. That would apply to most everything on the menu - at least what I have sampled. Everything is "good" or "ok" but nothing really stands out as "Wow! This is the best *insert favorite Italian dish here* I've ever eaten!" The facility is incredibly noisy, particularly in the central atrium area - which sounds like the floor of the New York Stock exchange during heavy trading. Parking is a nightmare, especially on weekends. I ordered a pizza one Friday evening and couldn't park my vehicle or pickup my order! Even worse, there is no policing of parking spaces so customers whom are dining in illegally park in the reserved "Carry-out Only" spots. Casa is definitely a more upscale dining experience than say the Olive Garden's and Fazoli's of the world, but it just doesn't have the taste of true "Made by real Italians" ethnic cuisine. read more

We went to Casa Grille on the recommendation of a friend as we passed through Fort Wayne. We had three kids in tow, and really needed a family friendly place we could recharge and fuel up during a road trip. Casa Grille is a perfectly average midwest restaurant. It's Italian themed, and the offerings and food were okay. It reminded me of the first meal you make in your first real apartment for your friends. Basic, all the ingredients are there, dumped in a bowl, tasted okay. It wasn't authentic or anything, very Olive Garden level, but honestly, it was so cheap nobody minded. The prices were really great, and the server was amazing. Funny, joked with the kids, really really awesome. Honestly, I walked in pretty grumpy and exhausted, and by the time our server pretended to spill a glass of soda on my 7 year old, I relaxed. It's not Rome, it's just pasta in a bowl. read more

When visiting my boy friend in Fort Wayne dining options are somewhat limited (I currently live in Chicago). it is so hard to compare the two cities! We have tried a few of the Casa restaurants so far and this one has been my favorite. I love the open fire for cooking in the middle of the restaurant. I thought the tables were packed very close together, it would be nice to have a little more space. Food is decent, I often compare to Olive Garden. My side salad was drenched in dressing which made me a little upset...I am definitely ordering dressing on the side next time! My chicken with veggies and rice was average nothing horrible or amazing to say. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating when we asked her to check with the chef if we could order a chicken dish without breading. read more
