My husband and I will go to one place only for our Mexican food and that would be Casa Garcias! Their Casa Gs special Stuffed avocados are to die for! They're margaritas are amazing! We specifically love the big red ritas ;) very family friendly and we've always experienced great service! I don't even want to give Casa Garcia's 1 star. The wait time is horrible even if they have empty tables inside and outside. If you call they say they do not reserve tables but we saw with our own eyes tables reserved. Must have to be a friend of the owner or management. Food quality has gone down hill.....last visit I sent my simple grilled fajita chicken taco back because it was cold and looked disgusting. The frozen margaritas are never frozen by the time they get to our table. Plus the wait staff we had didn't speak English very well. Would not recommend at this time. read more

This restaurant was fantastic! It completely hits the spot if you're craving delicious Mexican food (we had the mole and barbacoa and it was perfectly cooked; no major grease). Our waitress Amelia was attentive and exceptionally friendly. We were from out of town and will be returning to this spot next time we pass through. The service was extremely Awesome, the drinks were prompt as well as our drinks & appetizers were out very fast and our chips & hot sauce were always full. The waiter was helpful with our menu questions & our order was complete & served in perfect time within our appetizers. My only issue would be to request a booth next time as it seemed our table, even for just 3 of us was too small for all that food(not a huge issue probably ordered too much food)! I've never gone online to write a complaint about a restaurant before but this morning (9/13/14) when I went into Casa Garcias I ordered food to go. 40 minutes went by and they still had not called my name or brought my food. I was sitting literally 8 feet in front of the girl who I ordered the food from. So, I went to ask if my food was done, and the girl turns around and hands me the food. She never called my name or even brought my food over. Needless to say my food was cold. My wife and I frequent the restaurant so it really left a bad taste in my mouth. If management is reading this, train your staff to call on the people who's orders are ready because it really pissed me off! read more

Been here several times bc it's the only decent restaurant around. I like the food and the bartenders are super nice not always attetitive but nice. Although the food is pretty good I think it's way over priced. And on weekends be prepared to wait for awhile for a seat and for your food to come. Breakfast is probably the best deal they got although it's almost 3 bucks a taco!!! A couple of times they have overcharged or double charged my card so I would recommend paying in cash. read more

And of course, they charged us for the soda I didn't drink. They used to serve three tacos with their fish taco dish. Now you only have two with a small chunk of fillet, and very little side for $10.25. The tortillas were also stone-cold, they didn't even warm them! Don't waste your time or money. Ordered the fajitas for 2 steak and chicken. Noticed immediately when they were brought to the table that there was only 3 pieces of steak and the rest chicken. After tasting the meat we realized that it was boiled first then seasoning added then placed on a skillet to give the fajita effect but was definitely not worth the $30 they cost. My sister ordered the chicken enchiladas and her meat was also boiled then seasoning added. Service was bad. Food terrible. Will not return. My wife and I had a very pleasant first visit to the Casa Garcia's in Kyle, TX on September 2, 2020. We thought it would be a nice to take our family and guests there for brunch, today, September 6. When we arrived we asked about sitting outside because two of our party didn't have masks. We were told several times they couldn't accommodate us, even outside, because theses two didn't have masks. However, after finding a mask for one (the other is 8 months pregnant) we were still told they couldn't accommodate us - even though our pregnant friend had a medical card that she couldn't use a mask. The manager didn't care that all we had to do was literally go through a gate and walk 5 feet to a table that would seat us - outside in the open air. We went for a nice brunch to a place we thought would be a new place for our Mexican food only to be met by a staff that was unyielding, unfriendly and unwilling to accept available medical records. We attempted to comply but the manager was unsympathetic to our pregnant friend. Never again! I will not give any positive feedback for the place or the manager. We are new to the area and I have many friends in the area with whom I share the area with as neighbors. I'm sorry to do this but just a little grace without "Corporate said this is what we have to do" would have gone a long way. read more

Ok....so I know they just opened and I am giving them some slack...however, when you walk into a restaurant at 8:30 at night....and there are MORE than 15 empty tables yet the hostess has you wait half an hour to be seated....there is something SERIOUSLY wrong! To top that off....she sat a party that came in 20minutes after us at the same size table we were waiting for before us and when I called her out on it, she just got rude (ruder). Fast forward....the waitress was very nice and the food was decent. There are other reviews on here about the hostesses and seriously.....this one needed to be fired! As a side note the owner was seated at a booth with a computer in front of him and he never once circulated to see how his customers were doing. My family & I eat at Casa Garcia's for the first time today. For the price we paid, the food & service were not very good. I expect more from a Mexican restaurant chain that's been around for awhile! Also, noticed that the manager was doing paper work & didn't look up to see so many folks looking around for their wait person to bring them chips, drinks & food. I wish you could give zero stars. We read the other reviews but decided to cut Casa Garcia's some slack since they are brand new. Why didn't we listen to the other reviews? We went Sunday right after church, so we knew that we would probably be waiting for 45 minutes. This was no biggie for us. The hostess told us it was a 15 minute wait, which we thought was awesome. Too bad that no one actually thought to tell the hostess how to tell time. After waiting for 35 minutes we checked with her and she said that it would be another 20-30 minutes. We asked her about our original "15 minute' quote and she said that she wasn't paying attention when she said that...duh. After an hour we decided to order take out because our infant needed his Sunday afternoon nap. We ordered and it took 45 minutes to get our to go order. (By the way, they called our names for a table 15 minutes before our food was ready.) I specifically ordered extra tortillas, but when we got home there were no tortillas and our orders were not correct. Bland rice and boring refried beans. IF you are going to charge 10/plate then you need to bring the flavor. They also charge $6 for to go chips and salsa! I called to express my displeasure about the to go order and the manager completely blew me off. My husband and I typically tip 25-30% of the bill because we both waited tables in college--too bad for Casa G's because you won't be making $2 off of people with food and service that are this bad. read more

I suppose my experience at this restaurant serves me right for being too lazy to cook my own mexican food. This was our second try at this place. My husband and I were seated quickly, though at a corner booth right next to a mini kitchen/drink station area. Chips and salsa came quickly too, though most of the chips were broken bits from the bottom of a bag. Waited over 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order while multiple staff members walked to and fro from that drink station to other tables. Finally had to ask one walking by who our waiter or waitress was. The answer, "I don't know, but I can check." Thanks. He eventually came by to take our drink order. This should have tipped us off to leave right away, but I really wanted to give the food another chance. A waitress, though I won't say "our" waitress, finally came by and took our order. Tacos al pastor for me, beef burrito for my husband. Since they make their tortillas in-house, I asked for some flour tortillas with butter while we waited for our food. When they are hot, the flour tortillas are light and fluffy and delicious. Our food arrives and my rice is cold and the refried beans and tacos are barely lukewarm. Same for my husband's food, though the beef burrito is a little warmer as it's slathered in watery chili con carne sauce. I open up one taco to inspect the pork, as I'm not a gristle and bone fan, and of course the majority of the pork in that taco has tough gristle. In addition, though the pork meat had color on it like it had been marinated in chiles and was full of flavor, it was flavorless, tough, and dry. Disappointing and later on that evening it was digestively challenging. For the quality of food and service you get, this place is overpriced and overhyped by people who get drunk on margaritas or beer before they eat the food. My suggestion: Stay home, look up a recipe, and cook your own Mexican/Tex-Mex at home, and MAYBE pick up some handmade tortillas from Casa Garcia's. read more

I went to meet a friend here for lunch, and it had decent reviews so I went ahead and got us a table. The chip service was very fast, but it was all very downhill from there. For one, my friend ordered a whisky and coke and the waitress had to come back with a list of whiskys, which half of them were not even whiskys on the list. It took about 10 minutes to get the first one. We got our order in about 5 minutes later, then it took almost 15 minutes to get it out. At this point, we have been there half an hour and just recently got our food and drinks. After this, our waitress did not come to check on us for 25 minutes. Yes, 25 minutes, you read that right. I actually had to find the manager because I needed to get back to work and finally he tracked another waiter down who got me a to go box. Our waitress finally comes out a few minutes after this and asks if we need the check, which ended up taking her 7 minutes to bring back to the table. I wouldn't even let her hand me the check and immediately gave her my card, which took her almost 10 minutes to run! To top it all off, their Jack and Coke's were maybe 6 oz and were 6 dollars a piece at lunch. The food was at least decent, but the service here is so incredibly awful that I don't know if I will ever go back, after this hour and a half ordeal. Stay away from this place read more

If we wouldn't have had a group of family and friends with us we would have left. We had made a reservation for our party in advance so they were expecting us. Drinks took forever. My husband had to ask for a water three times. They were refilled once during the time we were there (2 hrs). Took awhile for our server to come back to take our food orders. After we got our orders in we waited for an hour to receive our meals. When our food was brought out they had no idea who ordered what and auctioned off each plate. We ordered the fajitas for 2 and the came out room temp at best. Talked to the manager after it was all said and done to express our concerns and to mention the poor quality of service. He didn't seem to genuinely care... Just the default response that it shouldn't have happened. All around a bad experience. We were there to celebrate and ended up leaving feeling annoying and aggravated. I waited tables and bartended for years... I'm pretty forgiving on service. When it's slow and your expecting a party the service should AT LEAST be okay. read more

New to area and this seemed like it would be a nice place. It has outside seating. The hostesses weren't that friendly. The server was but she totally forgot me. I received my drink and ordered some food that never came. She dropped the check by and again never came back. I took the check to the hostess stand and asked if I paid there. They said no you pay the server. I mentioned that I never got my food. She looked at check and said well it doesn't look line you were charged for it. She took my check and went to ring it up. I moved to Kyle a year ago, and had heard good things about this restaurant. In retrospect, I think the praise was for the margaritas, because the food is terrible. I've been there twice, so it was not a fluke that I found the whole plate, enchiladas, beans tasteless. The salsa is too picante for my taste so I couldn't enjoy the chips. I will not go there again. I moved here from Alabama and had much better Mexican food there. I can't understand why anyone would choose this restaurant. read more
