Horchata and complimentary chips and salsa
Yizhen L.

This is my third time here in 2 weeks, and I'm all about it! My exposure to Hispanic food is only limited to within the states, but I've lived in Texas for some time so I feel like I have at least good appreciation for good American Hispanic food. And I love this restaurant! We have not tried anything that we didn't love. Their complimentary chips are homemade, and salsa is a green creamy salsa, I love it and it's a little different from most other Mexican restaurants. You can't go wrong with anything birria - so flavorful and I love the accompanying broth. I have yet to try the birria in its broth, but I bet that will cure any winter blues in a pinch! I also happen to love their empanadas, they are HUGE!! I liked the shrimp one because it's super flavorful and even has seasoning in the dough, the birria one is good too, but chicken was sold out last time we ordered, look forward to trying the chicken empanada soon. I usually come a little past the lunch rush but every time even at 2:30, there's a line almost to the door, the hype is real! Come and try my new fav Mexican place in UT!

3 tacos with the fixings

Food was good and friendly staff. Had two beef tacos and one chicken. Reasonably priced! Give it a try, you'll be happy you found this little gem of the beaten path!

Chips, salsa, and cantaloupe juice. All tasty!

Hidden gem for some good Mexican food! This is one of those places that you'd never try on accident. It's in the industrial park and way out of the way for most people. But, once you find out about it you are in luck for some good food! I had ceviche, a birria taco, and it was an enchilada for my wife. All was fresh, hot, and had good flavor. Their salsa and chips were good as well. The ladies running the registers and serving were great! As to why 4 of 5 stars.. it was quite good, there just wasn't anything that wowed us. I'd go again for sure, especially if someone wanted to try a good birria taco, but it's been a year since and nothing has called us back.

This restaurant came highly recommended! So today was the perfect day to try it!!! The weather was a bit cool, and we felt like eating something warm and tasty! When we drove into the parking lot it was packed, that is always a good sign of great food!!! When we opened the door, we could smell delicious foods cooking!!! The staff was in the process of decorating their holiday tree with candy canes, lights, and ornaments!!! it looked quite festive!!! When we sat down, we were brought freshly fried tortilla chips and avocado salsa, it was delicious!! The salsa was creamy with a hint of lime. We ordered Birria de Res and to drink Horchata and Aqua de Melon. When our food arrived, I was surprised by the quality and presentation!! The maiz tortillas were homemade!!! They were delicious!!! The Birria came with rice and beans, and sides of chopped onion, cilantro, lime, and spicy chiles arbol salsa. The carne was tender, well seasoned, it just broke apart with your fork! I was so happy to be eating this delicious meal!!!! My tummy was very happy!!! The drinks were excellent, they put real cantaloupe melon in their agua de melon!!! I highly recommend Casa de Nena! I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!!!!

Cute simple decor - love the paper flowers

From the service to the food, our visit tonight was stellar. My husband absolutely loved his birria Plato and their birria mula was delicious! The coffee flan was soooo yum! Our server was super friendly and helpful in explaining what each dish was to us. We're sad we overdid it & didn't get a chance to get to make it to the cameron empanadas/tacos, but I bit into both & they were sooo good! Will make for great leftovers. We are super happy we've found a great Mexican restaurant...definitely coming back! :)

Best tacos Weber County, I recently moved to Utah from Cali and miss my street tacos. The birria tacos are definitely worth it.

A birthday surprise I'll never forget!…read more This restaurant came highly recommended by a former employee, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we sat down, everything impressed us. I tried a mezcal cocktail for the first time, the blueberry mezcal, and it was incredibly unique, smoky, slightly sweet, and just overall delicious. For food, we ordered the corn, poblano tamales, and the chorizo steak burrito. Every bite was packed with flavor. Portions were generous, so much so that we ended up taking leftovers home (always a good sign!). But the true highlight of the evening? The birthday celebration. Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, and I casually mentioned a birthday at the end of the month. She smiled and said, "Leave the rest to me." I had no idea what was coming... Suddenly, the entire bar lit up? iterally. Flames shot up like a volcano erupting, the staff came out with fire, bubbles, and this incredible energy. It felt like a full-on performance. Then came a rich chocolate cake soaked in liqueur that was just as dramatic as it was delicious. It wasn't just dinner, it was an experience. If you're looking for amazing food, creative drinks, and unforgettable celebrations, this place delivers on all of it. We'll definately be back.

I stopped into Xalisco in Ogden on a random weeknight around 8pm and was a little thrown off when I…read morewalked in and the place was completely empty--no customers, no one at the host stand, just crickets. For a second I wondered if they were closed, but someone eventually came out and seated me. That initial vibe had me a bit concerned, but I stuck it out. I started with the chips, corn, and guacamole, which was decent, nothing mind-blowing but fresh enough and got the job done. The Cadillac Margarita ($20) was a disappointment though. It was basically a glass of ice with way too much lime juice dominating everything; I could barely taste the tequila. The Michelada was better, solid and refreshing, and the service was about the same: friendly and attentive enough once they got going, but nothing standout. But holy smokes, that asada stuffed burrito saved the whole meal. The asada was ridiculously tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Juicy, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth beef wrapped in a solid burrito. That one item alone made me glad I came. Overall, the place has some hits and misses. If the asada is what you're after, it's worth it. Just maybe skip the Cadillac marg and don't expect a lively atmosphere on a slow night. I'd go back for the burrito.

After a quick morning flight to Ogden, UT to visit our besties, we found ourselves hungry and…read morecraving some Mexican. A quick Yelp search lead us to No Manches Way. THE LOCATION: This is where things got a little tricky. Street parking for No Manches Way is basically nonexistent. There is a small lot in the back through a narrow alley alongside the building. THE ATMOSPHERE: Eh... Awkward is a good way to sum it up. There's a tv with a DJ, in what looks like his parents basement, blasting club music. It was much louder than it needed to be for any restraint. Especially during the day. Aside from that, there were some neat murals on the walls and a variety of seating. THE EATS: Having caught wind of the birria craze back in Colorado, I was excited to see that they offered this here! Yay! So I eagerly ordered up a quesa birria (which is essentially a cheese quesadilla with a dipping au jus). My husband chose to nosh on a massive asada burrito, and our friend chose the street tacos. The meals definitely satisfied the craving and filled our tummies. THE DRINKS: Since they're across the street from a church and located in Utah, you will not find beer or liquor here. They do feature Mexican Coca Cola, Parrot juice drinks, among other things. I opted for a Pink Guava juice drink. It definitely paired perfectly with my meal. THE SERVICE: There's no table service here. You place your order at a counter in the back of the restaurant and receive a tray with your food when it's ready. Being the first time I've had birria, I was a little disappointed that how to season the broth was not explained more to me. It came with a plethora of cilantro and onion that I was unsure of how to use. Oh well. No Manches Way was A-OK in my book. I wouldn't be opposed to stopping by again next time we're in town and checking out more of the menu.

It didn't look like the cleanest place in the world but I didn't mind it. I got a couple different tacos and a gordita. My tacos came right out but my gordita took FOREVER! It was to the point that I was convinced they forgot it and I was going to have to remind them. I ordered a lengua (cow tongue) taco and it was good. I'm a big fan of lengua and this was some of my favorite. I love the condiment bar they have to dress up your tacos. What I was really impressed with was their horchata. It was amazing and we had a really friendly waitress who always made sure we were doing well and since we were friendly back she gave us the horchata for free. Great company and great service. I called and told them their meat smells like diaper poop and the meat was burnt or very old I think they just reconstituted it. They have a really nice restaurant and friendly staff but if someone has a complaint or problem with their food they should handle it better than having a older couple to bring the food back and they will refund your money back. If that is how they are gonna be maybe they should just have a catering truck or make food on the side of the road . I am sorry if this seems rough, I just tell it like it is. I will never eat there again.
