After speaking with the worker there, we got the Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Connecticut which is supposed to have a smooth and mild flavor profile along with being creamy with subtle hints of spice and sweetness. Although I didn't really enjoy smoking the cigar (I guess it's not for me...yet), it did have a crisp & clean finish. My friend is an older gentleman and they tried to charge him $300 for a single cigar...I called BS and said that wasn't even possible to have a single non-Cuban cigar in their store, and they sure as hell wouldn't keep it in the regular walk-in humidor- amazingly, after I put up a tiny bit of resistance, they said don't worry about it! Turns out female manager kicks out women because she was talking to someone the manager had a crush on -- allegedly. What kind of weirdo does that. Overview::: I was deeply disappointment and emotional distress regarding my degrading treatment at Monte Cristo on Saturday, February 21, between approximately 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. I have been a loyal patron of Monte Cristo since its grand opening. Over the years, I have consistently supported your establishment and have never witnessed police being called on a patron, nor have I ever seen someone asked to leave without explanation. Until this incident, I had always felt welcomed and valued in your space. That evening, I arrived as I had many times before, made my usual rounds, greeting familiar faces, and was kindly given a complimentary drink at the bar. I then sat to enjoy the live band, cheering and discussing the music selections with another patron. While explaining something about pitch, I leaned closer so he could hear me over the music. Suddenly, I heard Liz (female, short, manager) say that I was being "aggressive." I stood and calmly said "excuse me" to understand who was speaking to me, only to be told again that I was being aggressive. As a 5'11" Black woman, I am acutely aware of the harmful stereotype that labels Black women, particularly tall Black women, as inherently aggressive. Consciously attempting to counter that perception, I folded my arms and asked who she was. Only then did she identify herself as the manager. I asked how I was being aggressive and whether there may have been a cultural misunderstanding in interpreting an animated conversation about music. Rather than clarifying or de-escalating, she immediately escalated the situation and told me to leave, or she would call the police to have me removed. I then asked for her full name. She refused to provide her last name. After the incident, I called the establishment to follow up and again requested her last name. The employee who answered the phone--an individual with dreadlocks--hung up on me and then turned the phone off. That conduct only compounded the unprofessionalism of the entire experience. Within moments of the manager's threat, law enforcement was involved. I was not drunk. Had I been intoxicated or disorderly, the responding officer would have arrested me. That did not occur. Instead, I was accosted by police and pushed out of an establishment I have supported for years, labeled "aggressive" without explanation. The humiliation of having police called on me in a public setting was deeply embarrassing and degradingly painful. It was shocking, humiliating, and profoundly hurtful. Especially when that is so rare, and there is no evidence of violence and I've nor more friends have never witnessed anyone having the police called on them. . The optics being labeled "aggressive" and having the police called despite exhibiting no violent or disruptive behavior--are extremely troubling. Historically and socially, such actions carry serious weight and consequence. That reality cannot be ignored. This was not simply a customer service issue; it reflects a deeply concerning bias in perception and response. I have since spoken with multiple friends and fellow patrons who were present that evening. Many expressed confusion about why I was asked to leave and observed that the manager's tone and approach appeared unnecessarily confrontational and escalated. From a customer service standpoint, this situation was mishandled at every level: * A manager should introduce herself professionally before confronting a patron. * A patron should be discreetly pulled aside, not publicly accused. * Clarification and de-escalation should precede threats. * Police should be a last resort--not a first response to a conversation about music. * Management should be transparent when asked for identification. Your manager's conduct demonstrated a lack of basic customer service skills and a concerning absence of sensitivity and cultural competency training. In today's climate, optics, bias awareness, and de-escalation skills are not optional; they are essential. read more

Went here with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. Whine our Waiter was very attentive and friendly, the bartender was horrible. He messed up the first round of drinks but we kept them and just asked for the next round to be corrected. He intentionally made the second round of drinks wrong. We know this because he was he made derogatory comments as our Waiter brought us the drinks. Needless to say, we returned those drinks . This place is not worth the poor customer service. I've been here a few times after work specifically on Tuesday's because our group meets after work. Very relaxing spot, good cigar selection & great drinks. It's been very cold in here lately, bring a sweater. Although I've been here the last 3 times look long for bartender Resha and to our disappointment she's scheduled off during the week when I asked for her today. Nothing against the other young lady but Resha brings a different presence and service that we've grown to love and now miss. Will be back for sure, hopefully she'll be here. read more

Spacious cigar lounge with quite a selection of cigars. I bought a pretty unique/rare cigar and thoroughly enjoyed it which was recommend by an employee. I had to do a good scotch with it so did the Macallan Harmony collection. Everyone in here seemed to keep to themselves and had their own groups to chill with and lost of single individuals including myself just enjoying a cigar by themselves. Definitely a place to check out if you in Dallas. read more

I've been to this place multiple times. Great cigar selection and drinks but this past Sunday the manager Ashley was very rude to the male employee working the humidor. There was a heated conversation in front of us where she even told him this is not a democracy! I'm a business owner myself and I believe everyone deserves respect and her behavior was very unprofessional. If I ever had a manager at my business that was like this manager she would be gone instantly. It was very busy but bartender Resha was very attentive and made a great sidecar. Decided to give this cigar lounge a shot! Walked in on a busy Saturday night, the vibe and atmosphere was great. Tall ceilings, which helped absorb the smoke. Bartenders were friendly. Their draft beer system did not work, which was a disappointment, but they had the same options available in bottle. They had a huge selection in the humidor, which I especially appreciated. The only downside was that there was no staff in there to help. I tend to go to the same cigars if I'm picking myself, so I was looking for a good medium to full body cigar that would be a new option. Since there was no help or stuff in the humidor, I just picked one that I normally go with which was delicious. Overall, this is one of the better cigar lounges in Dallas and I would highly recommend. read more

Since we were not traditionally celebrating, we thought it would be best to get out. As soon as we walked in AJ showed us where to start. We went in the cigar selection room where he notice the lost look on our faces and came to assist us quickly. He gave suggestions and also mentioned pairing knowledge. I am going to start with this.. Caleb is the best bartender I have ever had the pleasure of knowing!!! We came here for my boyfriends brothers birthday. The men all loved the cigars while the women enjoyed the drinks. I asked him to make me something with Gin.. he delivered! All the women asked for him to surprise then after we told him what main liquor we drink.. HE DELIVERED! It was like 5 out of 5 he made drinks and no one had a negative thing to say. We stopped in there last weekend because we were looking for a new place to get cigars. They have a good-sized walk-in humidor featuring Monecristo cigars and plenty of others. The staff was friendly and helped us pick out some new sticks that we hadn't tried before. Then we had a chance to sit at the bar for a while. The bartender was nice. They don't have a cocktail menu. I would recommend they consider adding one because people asked about it a lot while we were there. They have a good spirits selection with some high-end picks. However, their beer selection was pretty lacking so it would be nice to see some more options there. They had some different wines. We actually had conversations with the bartender on what we would recommend there. Everyone was super friendly and we had a lot of good conversations there. Fun place. read more

My wife and I live across the street to this great cigar lounge, we frequently go and highly recommend if looking for a premium stick and great bar service! Both bartenders Caleb and Jasmine are wonderful, great customer service and always have a smile on their face, very welcoming and always remember their customers. Their is a newer guy and sorry can't remember his name but has a short beard younger, he is also very polite and helpful, always greeting customers, suggesting cigars to try but very engaging. He also keeps ash trays fresh and continues to check on each customer. All in all great Team! A few items to note to the owner/ company that would make this place stellar and not just good would to offer more whiskey & bourbon options, the offerings are pretty slim and being a cigar lounge they go hand in hand. We always struggle to select our drink choices when we come which is often, the more options perhaps more sales and profits. One other item to note since we do watch a lot of games while in the company of friends there including the most recent Super Bowl game, the TV's are way to small especially in areas on the side walls, the Tom Thumb side of your lounge. You could easily have 75-80 inch screens making it much easier to watch from anywhere in the lounge, the bar TV's are good for those at the bar but it makes it hard to see from across the room not able to see the scores, clarity could now be at-least in 4k especially on the heavy smoke filled room days when it's hazy to see the screen. Hope this feedback is welcomed but small asks to us who come often and support the business, we do appreciate having this lounge in our neighborhood and can't thank you enough, many fun memorable times are spent here! read more
