Cappuccinos and pastries were excellent. The staff was very nice. The decor could be improved but for a cultural center it is fine.

They are never opened! We live only blocks away and drive by often. They were opened one time!

Bakery Nouveau in Burien is our non-negotiable stop every single time we head to Sea-Tac. Skipping…read moreoverpriced airport food for this place is the best decision you can make before a flight. The Highlights * Croissants: Unbelievably flaky, buttery, and fresh. * Pistachio Apricot Tart: Absolutely amazing--the nutty pistachio paired with bright, sweet apricot was incredible. * Pizza: Don't sleep on the savory stuff. The bakery-style pizza has a great crust, delicious sauce, and generous toppings for a perfect pre-flight lunch. The staff keeps the line moving fast, the vibe is bright and welcoming, and the food never disappoints.

My favorite bakery in the most dangerous location in Burien…read more Not dangerous because of crime. Dangerous because it's directly across the street from my gym. Nothing says "great workout" quite like immediately replacing every calorie you just burned with one of Bakery Nouveau's twice-baked chocolate croissants. I prefer to think of it as strategic carbohydrate replenishment. Everything here is exceptional. The pastries are buttery, flaky, and somehow manage to ruin every grocery store croissant for the rest of your life. The coffee is excellent, the staff is consistently friendly, and it's one of those places where it's impossible to leave with only the one thing you came in for. The neighborhood feels safe, parking is plentiful, and the only real hazard is convincing yourself you deserve "just one more pastry." Five stars. My spin instructor may disagree. Bakery Nouveau is worth every extra minute on the bike.

On a hot, sunny day around 2:50pm on Friday I decided to make the drive here after suddenly…read moreremembering one of my foodie friends had this place several times during other weekends. I actually had to park behind the building then look at other Yelp reviews to find out that there is parking on gravel near their dumpsters closest to LaShaun Daye Hair. Though I don't know if the parking lot where this building and E Marginal Way meet can also be used...street parking in this area was scarce, contrary to most Yelp reviews I've read. Anyway, I came to an empty but very chill interior with several tables and window seating, along with some semi-quiet VPop playing near the front counter to the right-hand side of the entrance. There's a small flower display along with the cafe logo a little to the back which is perfect to take photo ops with your drink and food like I did. The menu is above the front counter and - as their logo says - they specialize in banh mi and coffee, though they have some matcha and soup options among others. Staff at the front were very quick at making my coffee as I was the only one inside. I got their 16oz egg coffee, which is one of their best sellers according to the asterisk on their menu next to the name of the drink. Very strong phin-dripped Vietnamese coffee along with condensed milk and an egg foam that gave a sweet, creamy taste to the already bitter coffee at the bottom. Drinking the egg foam first, it's a nice, thick custard-like format that the coffee does not overtake, which is good since other places I've had don't have that kind of balance. My next trip back here will have to be for another one of their coffee drinks and their banh mi sandwiches as well. I can already hear my friend telling me to get one right now as I'm writing this up!

I went with the Dac Biet version, which contains cold cuts of pork ham and sausage, along with pate and mayo. The bread was super good. It was really fluffy and crackly on the outside. Some of the best bahn mi bread I've had. Also, I found the meats to be excellent as well - particularly the sausage. The portions of pate and mayo were just enough to add moisture to each bite. For around $10, it's a little expensive for bahn mi, but still reasonably priced. 8/10
