Opened up the google app this morning to see what's the haps. Few scrolls and see that this beloved cafe truck re-opened this weekend in its new location in south sodo! Mon-Fri was coffee so we doing red bull today and the Sour Sunrise was perfect!!! Hit the spot good nice and tart covering the red bull taste mostly. Just what I needed. Great to meet the friendly owner and her brother and niece that was visiting! Now I know where I need to stop whenever I'm near or going to the ferry. read more

ANIMATED CAFE: WHERE TEEN GAINS MEET CAFFEINE DREAMS Listen, while other cafes are out here offering basic student discounts, Animated Cafe has revolutionized the game with their "Swoled Out Scholar" program. Show up with biceps larger than your high school textbooks? That's 20% off your protein-packed cold brew, young champion. Their legendary "Yoked Youth Happy Hour" (3-5 PM, right after hitting the weights in PE class) brings in a crowd of teenage bodybuilders so impressively built that their school lockers have filed for structural reinforcement. I watched a 16-year-old bench press his frappuccino while calculating the macro ratios - the dedication is REAL. The "Flex For A Fix" discount system is pure genius. Each teenage deltoid gets its own discount percentage. Show up with traps that could shelter a small village? That's another 10% off your order. Their baristas are all certified in both latte art AND measuring muscle mass circumference with scientific precision. You haven't lived until you've seen their Tuesday "Teen Titan Training" special, where any high schooler who can deadlift their backpack gets a free protein powder add-in. The sight of AP Chemistry students discussing amino acid chains while comparing lat spreads is nothing short of inspirational. Their "Gains Before Grades" loyalty program (which probably shouldn't be the actual name) rewards both academic performance AND muscle definition. Got straight A's AND visible abs? Congratulations, you've achieved their coveted "Supreme Swole Scholar" status, complete with a golden protein shaker cup. Five stars for creating a space where teenage bodybuilders can gather to compare homework answers AND shoulder development. I've witnessed study groups transform into impromptu pose-down competitions, with calculus textbooks serving as impromptu dumbbells. P.S. Their "Bring Your Max Bench Receipt, Get A Discount" promotion has local gym owners questioning everything they thought they knew about the teen fitness market. P.P.S. The "No Flex, Full Price" policy seems harsh but fair. I watched a junior try to fake his way through a most-muscular pose and the barista just slowly shook their head while charging full price. Note: This review was written while watching a group of AP Biology students debate protein synthesis while simultaneously comparing their quad development. The future is bright, and apparently very well-muscled. Special Addendum: To the parent who complained about the "Must Be This Swole To Order" measuring chart by the register - this is about STANDARDS, Karen. Final Thought: Never has there been a more perfect synthesis of academic achievement and athletic development. It's like if your local gym's juice bar had a baby with a library, and that baby was really, really into protein shakes. Remember: They don't just serve coffee here - they serve GAINS. And if you're under 18 and can't do at least 10 pull-ups, maybe stick to the regular menu pricing. P.P.P.S. Their new "Homecoming King Must Have Visible Six-Pack" campaign is controversial but undeniably effective at driving teenage fitness goals. Warning: Side effects may include excessive use of phrases like "getting these gains," "absolute unit," and "do you even lift, bruh" while ordering your caramel macchiato. read more

First time here (first impressions are everything) so I came and the person who made my drink & sandwich wasn't too friendly but it's fine idc tbh lol, I ordered a Ube Matcha drink (which was like a 4/10) & a sun dried tomato croissant that looked like a burnt sandwich. Went to work & opened up the bag and the sandwich was burnt to the crisp (I don't mind a little burn) but damn it was like really burnt. Couldn't return it cause I had to be back at work so it was pointless, please make sure to check your food before leaving or you might be disappointed like me lol. read more

Cute little coffee truck here in West Seattle. The owner is a delight to talk to - happy cheerful, serving a great cup of coffee. I had the Ube Cloud Latte and the Matcha Ube. Both the drinks were delicious and tasted so fresh. This coffee truck is in Tony's Markets parking lot. They also have sandwiches which I have not tried and will some other time. I am certainly going to come back here for my daily dose of caffeine and great drinks to kick off my mornings. Welcome to the neighborhood! Highly recommend Animated Cafe. read more

Ordered for the first time and I am so glad I did! I was looking to get food delivered on a lazy morning and I have never been so happy, or surprised by a food delivery before. It came with an adorable drink accoutrement (not sure the technical term for this fun drink companion), a couple adorable stickers, and a stamped loyalty card. Not to mention the food was amazing and the drink was exactly what I needed. I have gotten better customer service from this cafe with this delivery than I have gotten in most local cafes I go to in person. Can't wait to stop by in person and check out more of their amazing looking drinks. Must try!!! read more

Came back a second time today for more ube cloud; submitted an online order for a matcha ube as I was picking up something else along the way. I left a note letting her know how much I loved the ube cloud latte yesterday. When I got there, Ana let me choose whether I wanted to top it off with ube foam or vanilla foam. She said she saw my note and guessed that since I came back for more ube, I'd probably enjoy ube foam on top as well. She absolutely did not need to do that; I would have been happy with the drink as it was. But the fact that she went out of her way to allow me customization based on a small note I left her speaks volumes about how much care she puts into her craft! Will come back whenever I'm in the area! read more

If you want to be unwarrantedly accosted by a clearly miserable and unhappy middle aged white man, go to this coffee stand. Unfortunately, I am giving 2 stars not because of the owner/barista Ana or her service or the coffee. Overall the 2 times I have been there, Ana and the drinks she has made are good. I love supporting smaller coffee shops/stands. Sadly, I will not be going back & I am recommending people to NOT go here. Why?: When I arrived in my car in the morning, I began to order and realized there was a middle aged man standing centimeters away from my passenger window. Ana saw my confusion and tried to get the man to move but he wouldn't budge. Finally, when I had my drink and I wanted to drive out of there, I couldn't because it was either drive into the menu in front of me or run into this man that seems like he would have called the cops and caused a scene if I bumped into him. I didn't want to hit him either, I really was confused by his actions. I rolled down my window to ask him to please move a little, he ignored me twice and then the 3rd time said "huh" as if he had no idea I was there or could hear me which I knew he could. Finally I was able to leave and when I looked at my rearview mirror he was making mocking faces at me? Honestly all of it was so uncalled for. It's way too early to be that unhappy and miserable and put it on other people. He seems to be a regular which is why I won't be returning. I sincerely wish he finds some happiness and doesn't unjustifiably bother anyone else in the future. read more

I've seen this coffee truck while driving towards the WS bridge several times, and came here on a recommendation. The owner is friendly, engaging, and is insanely creative! There's fun drinks that kids or those seeking something new would love; like cotton candy drinks and strawberry cloud drinks, and there's also the comforting warm cup of coffee if you're looking for something more simple. There's many chances for discounts off your drink, and I'd especially recommend this place to anybody in the anime community, as that's this cafe's theme (and the owner has a little sign that says you can get a discount on your drink if you come in cosplay!) I ordered the Thicc Mint Cloud (hot) and it was awesome, not too sweet, super smooth. Check this place out! read more

While pulling into the parking lot, I noticed the food truck and thought well why not. Anything is better than Taco Time. I ordered the taco plate (3 tacos with rice and beans) with carne asada. My food came out pretty fast. I was also served two salsas, pickled jalapenos & carrots and a mint. I went to my car and opened my to go container and was impressed just at first glance. I honestly wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but at first looks, I was pleasantly pleased. I took my food to work and ate my desk. My first bites were of the beans and rice and I had to take a minute and pause. I literally felt like I hit the jackpot. Those rice and beans were slamming and did not disappoint! The tacos were good too. The grilled onions were pefection and the salsas were deliciouso! My only critique is the carne asada was slightly on the salty side but still delicious. Honestly, I sat there thinking while eating my food - do I go back on my way and grab a plate for dinner. I will have to find them on IG so I can follow them and get their schedule. Definitely, will return and try more!

I was going to come and get a coffee here until I saw how disgusting and unsanitary this shop is inside. I watched the girl working inside take a rag and wipe something off the FILTHY floor. She then took that same rag and continued on wiping the counter with it. I have never seen a more unsanitary coffee truck in my life. The walls and base boards are FILTHY!! Where is the health department? The only people giving 5 star reviews are dirty men who come to this shop to be perverts. Oddly enough this girl popped up on my TikTok while she was live and it confirmed just how disgusting I felt this shop is. Playing with her hair, touching her face, itching herself, then touching everything like lids, cups etc... never washes her hands or actually cleans anything. I was a barista and ran a shop for 9 years and the sanitary conditions of this business are non-existent. Someone get the health department over there. read more

My personal favorite are the Tostilocos, esquites, conchas con fresas, and Mexican latte. I can't tell you how many other coffee shops I've been to that call it theirs a Mexican latte by just sprinkling some cinnamon (and maybe some Cayenne). Those who know, know, the abuelita flavor - and this here is the genuine article. Their menu is very expansive, so I'm sure everyone can find something for them. They also sell cute cups, along with offerings for kids. But my favorite part is that they also sell fresh tamales. They're the best tamales I've had in this area. I believe they usually have chicken or rajas (cheese with jalapeño). We were vegetarian for a while, and not every Mexican shop has cheese tamales, so this place is definitely a diamond in the rough. I'm always looking for savings, and they also have a frequent buyer program by using your phone number. You can accumulate points for free or discounted beverages. One thing I will mention is that sometimes there can be a line, so please plan accordingly. The quality of the items you receive is up there, and it takes time to make these creations.

Lastly, they've always been very friendly. If they are not busy, they engage in conversation, which might be the main reason I keep coming back. The exterior is an adorable little blue shack with two drive thru windows (one on each side) plus a walk-up window. It's small but charming and convenient. I was especially impressed that every day I came by, there was only one barista working, yet the service remained flawless. It was so delicious that I had to come back the very next day to order it again. The French toast, sausage, bacon, and egg bagel sandwich was recommended as a favorite by the barista. However, I removed a star because the food is prepackaged and reheated. While I enjoyed the spinach feta pretzel, the French toast bagel was a bit tough.
