The other thing is the workers. Almost all of them are wonderful to deal with. However, there's this one girl... one stuck up annoying little shit... who will ruin your experience there. Try asking for a hard ice cream shake. This little entitled bitch will hem, haw, and do everything possible to tell you soft ice cream is exactly the same in a shake, which everyone on the planet knows isn't true. And she WILL fight you on it. She also doesn't know how to drive as I learned one time trying to let people out of the parking lot before I went in. We came here on a weekend evening. Carvel's soft serve ice cream is reliably great and fairly priced (they do give you quite a lot). The woman working there was polite and worked quickly. The store has a large varity of types of ice cream and packaged items you can take home. There is a little bit of seating (maybe 2-3 seats), but it is a small location as compared to other Carvel locations. read more

I stopped by the Carvel location last Saturday. I was looking for a Cookie Puss cake for my mom's 92nd Birthday. I looked in the display case I did find a Cookie Puss cake but it didn't look like the usual Cookie Puss cakes. I couldn't quiet figure out what was different. Then it hit me instead of the cone in the center like all Cookie Puss cakes have, this cake just had some squiggly things where the cone usually sits. Then I look at the price it was 48.99!!! That is absurd.... I have been buying Cookie Puss cakes for many many years. As a matter of fact for my daughters I used to special order Cookie Puss cakes with specific ice cream flavors and have never paid anywhere near $48.99. I walked right out of that store went to Carvel in Tuckahoe. There I found the correct Cookie Puss with the ice cream cone nose and it was $31.99 and the owner and his wife were extremely friendly. My first visit to Tom Carvel ice cream store was as a younger guy. I remember his commercials on TV. They still make a mean ice cream cake but the likes of stone cold and Hagen daz has transformed Mr Carvel's ice cream coes and sundaes/ a bit of a more mediocre experience IMHO Carvels has been around for many many years and they still make the best ice cream cakes for the kids and the prices are better than the aforementioned ice cream shops, so Ill give them 4 stars! read more

We went back for a cake a few days later. As delicious and artistic as ever. The manager/owner was so friendly and we spoke for a while about the history of Carvel and the difficulty of getting it in the Midwest. A wonderful experience. I always go to this carvel on Wednesday's or whenever my partner wants a milk shake since she loves them so much ! So I went on Mother's Day to purchase two vanilla milk shakes and they tasted just like watered milk ! So I went back on Tuesday to explain to the young lady that was helping me about how the milk shake was missing something cause it tasted like watered down milk , she says "we always ask customers if they want vanilla extract " I have been coming here for a long time and was NEVER asked " what ingredients I want in my milkshake? So I asked if I can be compensated in some way cause I bought two shakes for $15.00 and she was very RUDE in her reply ! So I said thank you and walked out ! It just about makes the top on the cup while the picture and all other Carvel stores add about 50-100% more than this one. We stopped going here a while back because of the skimming. We came back to try again because it was very close. But looks like we won't be coming back here again. I cain't image paying full price of $12 for 2 cups with maybe 2 ounces in them. i know its still cold outside, but in the mood for double cone of vanilla and chocolate soft ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and the memories come back . on central ave in yonkers, which was a big cruising strip back in the day. we would hit carvel after a night of hanging out and doing useless stuff.the ice cream cakes are still popular and the soft ice cream has always been my favorite. you can go with a cone or cup, try a shake, malt, flying saucer, also frozen yogurt and birthday cakes and other treats. the place looks dull and plain, but thats what keeps it authentic .you can park in front or the small dark parking lot is an option. the workers are usually teenagers or young adults and are friendly and prices are still better then the other over priced brands. a few tables to enjoy your sundae or order and leave as most do. carvels ice cream has been around a long time, and still having this spot around, only brings fond and yummy memories. p.s. on wednesday buy one sundae, get one free. enjoy and say hello to fudgie the whale. read more

Tried to go here the other day not realizing it was a Carvel and a Subway in the same space, thought they were next door to each other (was across the street when I saw it, and from the view I got, they looked separate, plus, when I looked it up online, it was simply advertised as a Carvel). I walked in and the smell was overpoweringly Subway and made me lose my appetite for the Carvel I was trying to order. Like who thought Carvel and Subway was a good combo? I can see Carvel and Auntie Anne's or Cinnabon, but Subway and Carvel? I don't happen to be a Subway fan to begin with, but it smelled extra awful in this particular one. Ice cream and sub sandwiches should NOT be in the same small space. Parking was also awful. Did not actually purchase ice cream here due to the awful unappetizing smell so I can't actually rate the ice cream. I went 3+ miles down the road to the standalone Carvel further north on Central Park Ave in Hartsdale/Greenburgh/whatever town that is. Seriously. Carvel and Subway???? They do not mix. read more

Went in with my three children. My son who ordered the big wafer cone got one scoop where as my other two children and I got soft serve and she gave us an enormous amount even though each of us had different sizes. You may ask, why complain about more? Well, when you have a young child who will have trouble eating it and make a huge mess as well as not be able to finish it, it's not a good thing. My 5 year old had to throw most of hers away even though she had gotten a small it was the same size as my medium. The server got each of our orders wrong in some way. I had to keep correcting her and she threw a whole cone away because I told her it was the wrong order even though I said I'd take it because I didn't want it to go to wasted, but this is not the worse of it. My oldest son and I who both had chocolate soft serve with chocolate sprinkles, we both got food poisoning. I knew it was the ice cream because I felt sick soon after eating it as did my son. My poor son complained of the worst stomach ache of his life. I shudder to think of what may have caused the food poisoning. If it was the machine or the server. Just awful. Also my son who got the wafer cone threw away his because he said it tasted funny. Overall an awful experience. I was happy to have found a new place for ice cream for our family but will not be returning to this one. Yesterday,I presented the coupons at this store and was told I needed identification to prove my date of birth. I went back to the car to get my drivers license and presented it to two teenage clerks who started studying my license and my printed email like I had some how forged these documents on my backyard printing press. I asked the manager if he was going to accept the coupons and he said "no,he would not". I will not shop at this Carvel location again. They get a minus F for not honoring their own promotion and for being ignorant assholes. read more
