The gelati is my go-to choice at Rita's because it comes with the perfect combination of custard and Italian ice. Vanilla custard is a staple and sometimes this location has special flavors...my favorite was the pistachio custard. The ices here are actually very good and have awesome consistency where it's icy but not hard and not just slush. Other locations may he more slushy and melted more than others but this location always gets it right. Couple that with a beautiful and generous topping of custard then you have a splendid treat for yourself at any point in time of the day.

This is a joint BR and Dunkin Donuts joint on the corner of LI ave and Commack Rd…read more I stopped in here to get a birthday cake for Mom and luckily found what I was looking for: ice cream cake with actual CAKE inside (not just ice cream). There was only one size (6" round ) left with the cake inside (turns out this was perfect anyway...). I brought it to the counter and asked if it was possible to have writing on the cake as it was kinda small. The employee asked "What do you want it to say" I replied "Happy Birthday" Employee: "How about Happy B-day?" (light and funny tone) Me: "Sure" Employee: "Who is it for?" Me: "My mom" With that he disappears with the cake as I pay for it. (I also had a $3 coupon for the cake...SCORE!).
