Shame on me for sleeping on Carvel for so long. Here in NYC, there are seemingly endless options available when you get that irresistible ice cream craving, you know the one. After missing the neighborhood Mister Softee truck yet again, I hopped on Yelp to see where the closest Carvel location was. I drove past a couple of Baskin Robbins locations, because my mind was on soft serve. This location still has those old school Carvel cakes, Fudgie the Whale, the football cake, and others available for your choosing. On the first few trips, I went with the classic sundae. On Wednesday, it's BOGO at this location. Multiple sizes, multiple options to choose from for your ice cream. Bonus tip, if you love McDonalds McFlurry, and get letdown whenever you hear the machine is out of service (more like they don't want to clean it), go to Carvel. They have their own take on the McFlurry, called the Carvelanche. It comes in 3 sizes, with even more mix-ins available. And it tastes better than the McFlurry. Ordered a cake with vanilla chip with frosting in the middle and cold brew for my brother's graduation, gluten free with the crunchies on the side. Ok so we get vanilla, no frosting, chips in the middle then a cold brew. Needless to stay the cake did not stay together. Whatever the flavors are good, the chips were tasty but there wasn't enough ice cream. But the cake wasn't even done when I went there and they wrote on the cake which looked like CL in capital and ass in script. I reached out to the location, called and got no answer. This carvel is on point. I mean they have a freakin aquarium inside!! What carvel has a big fish tank inside??!? Besides that they have really fresh icecream. The place is super clean... I love how everyday of the week they have different specials which is pretty amazing and can save you a lot of money. For example Monday sundae dashers are buy one get one free! What a steal for carvel??? I posted a picture with there weekly in store sales and also take home sales, for items like flying saucers or 4-pack bonnets BOGO. SALES WILL SAVE YOU!! So when we placed an order they charged my daughter about $32, she tells me & im like for a small cake. Its just the 4 of us, I really dont want left overs. So she calls & the lady apparently wrote down a bigger cake. She said i refund u the difference. So my daughter goes today to pick it up & gets back $12 which was good, $20 for a small cake which im fine with. The only "ice cream" shop in the community where prices are reasonable. In fact, on Wednesday, Sundays are buy one.... I personally like the soft serve. Service is kind and helpful if undecided. Still love the Flying Saucers! read more

During the week they have different specials. I really didn't concern myself with any other day but Wednesday. But one sundae get one free, that caught my attention. It was nice and warm in there and the young men behind the counter were polite, professional and very much in point. I quickly placed my order and skipped to my car. I just finished a delicious dinner from down the block and wanted to make sure I had room for my sundae. I grew up on Carvel and they are few and far in between to find. I woke up with a plan this morning and made sure I did not miss a step. I went pass go, collected my 200 hundred dollars and left a nice tip in the top box. I ordered delivery from Carvel. I got two sundaes(black & white) with whipped cream and some toppings. It was made quickly ,delivered fast, and tasted delicious. It also didn't melt and the medium size sundaes were huge. No complaints here! read more

As always great customer service, very clean . Generous portions and the ice cream is just so fresh here. Even if I'm working far from here, we come here because it's well worth it. Other Carvel's skimp on the icecream and especially skimp on the specials. But this location gives generous amounts and has specials every day. How could you go wrong ? read more

I never really knew about Carvel growing up down South but now I know and I'm addicted. This Carvel is really worth the little lines that form. Firstly, it is located on avenue N, across the Flatland Ambulance so I frequent this place much more than I should. Anyway, metered parking but generally easy to find. The inside is set up like most Carvels, not much space but the service is quick and friendly! I mean seriously, the people here are really nice and professional. They don't short change you on service and have great work ethic and manners. I was in shock because unfortunately you don't get that type of interaction in NY often. They also have your standard deals here like most Carvels, which range to thick shakes to sundaes. Overall? This Carvel is is on point. The best one I've ever been to. read more

Giving it a star because it's Carvel, and the ice cream itself is good. But my God, does the service suck. There's one specific girl that looks like you ruined her day just by walking in the door. Wouldn't even walk over to us to take the order, turned her head and starting doing something while we were giving the order, then began making the wrong thing because she didn't have the patience to let us finish speaking. To make matters worse, the "manager" justified her rude behavior and said "it's one of those days". Everyone has bad days but you don't act like this at your job. There's plenty of people who need jobs, so if you're that unhappy, get out. read more

I come here once in a while since this place is by my job. The ice cream and milkshakes are just any regular ice cream and milkshakes that you get from any carvel nothing special. I placed an order for uber Eats for a milkshake and a flying saucer 6 pack and I was missing the flying saucers! My daughter & I went here to get ice cream. She called to place her order(as they are not allowing anyone in) they asked her to hold on for a minute. Okay she's holding 4 guys in the store, no one picked up the phone. On April 21st my husband called up the store and asked a gentleman with an Asian accent, the store hours and what's the best way to pick up a small cake for my bday. He told him the store hours and said they have curb-side pick up and no need to put in an order since they have many small cakes already made. The next day 4/22, my husband walked up to the outside service area of the store and was faced with a nasty young woman who rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed and seemed extremely annoyed that my husband came to buy a cake without calling and putting the order in first. He explained he called the day before and ask but was told there was no need to. It took her nearly 2 mins to write happy bday while my husband who was wearing a mask and gloves waited outside. She slammed the cake down as he was about to pay and continue to complain how he should have called first. She went on and on and on; extra unwanted time my husband wanted to be standing next her. Carvel is lucky to have anyone's business these days. He could have gone anywhere to get me cake.
