I recently bought some leggings online and they had the option to pick up at the local store. I signed up for text updates. Got the ready for pickup text not 2 hours later. When I got to the store, they asked for my name, scanned the label on the bag and that was it. I live 10 minutes away from this location so it was pretty sweet to avoid the shipping charge for a single pair of leggings. Trust, I'll be back!

It's also a lot bigger than it would appear from the street. Around the corner is the Treasure Shop, also run by the Symphony Women's Association, which has the fancier furniture and antiques but Second Fiddle has tons of more reasonably priced housewares, clothing, and knick-knacks. LOTS of great women's clothing, purses, and shoes in many styles from vintage to modern, with more emphasis on the 60s, 70s, 80s. There is a dressing room and the women running things were sweet and friendly. Standard prices for most items are posted around the store and at the register, but make sure you bring cash as they do not have a card reader! Proceeds seem to support Symphony education and outreach programs, so you can feel good about spending your cash.

The shop depends on donations to stay open. Donations include clothing, decorative items, jewelry, small electronics, furniture, and a variety of other items. Donations can be accepted from you during regular business hours. The hours open are 11a to 3p Wed, Thur, and Fri. You never know what "Treasures" you might find so stop by and visit the shop. A nice staff of friendly volunteers take care of the merchandise and the shop. I am sure that they would like to see you.

There was a lot of Torrid, which was a nice surprise. And also a lot of LulaRoe. I picked up an amazing chunky sweater/poncho type thing that probably was pretty pricey new, a pair of jeans, and a REALLY cute blouse (which is unfortunately too tight in the arms and has no stretch. *sadface*) HUGE book department and more DVDs than I was expecting! There is also a great selection of wares and then my favorite, the china aisle. I found an authentic Wedgwood plate (!!!!) and scored some super cool looking glass dessert plates - which as luck would have it, were 50% off today. I'm not gonna lie, the china was more expensive than I've seen it go for at other Goodwills, but the collections were also considerably larger than just one or two random Walmart plates stuck together with clear packing tape. Some of the plates were six or more to a set, and most of them were really nice. Not your usual Corningware stuff you see all the time. In fact - I got an authentic Wedgwood plate here for $4! (I might have texted my mom from the parking lot, I was so excited by that!) I live very close to the Goodwill Outlet, and it's great, but it's am experience you don't always want to engage in. As a transplanted Southsider (we recently moved from Fort Lowell and Country Club), I'm slowly beginning to find my way around and am always delighted at what I'm discovering. While buying more than $20 in merchandise, my wife simply asked the cashier if she could get 4 quarters for a dollar, in order to buy something from gumball machines inside the store by the entrance. The cashier looked at her like she was an alien and said she did not believe she could do that. We shook our heads in disbelief and went to the customer service counter to ask them for change. The ladies there were older and one seemed like some kind of manager. We were sure this would work. We asked and one of the ladies actually said, "We are not allowed to do that." I am going back to this location at some point just to get the contact info on the gumball machines to let the owners of those machines know that the store refuses to give change out for customers to use in their machines. One of the strangest experiences I have ever had.
