Wow. Impressed!…read more I've been to a more local store of The Children's Place (reviewed on Yelp) and deemed it a place to avoid. Messy, dirty store, marginal merchandise . . . you name it. Not a fan. So I was very skeptical when I walked into this store at the Houston Premium Outlets recently. Shocked, really, to see a very well organized store with a great selection of merchandise at great prices. Items were all arranged by size category with combinations for outfits grouped together. It made choosing items very easy to create a styled, yet affordable, look. Prices were excellent. Little girls' skorts for $5.98 with matching tops for $4.99. Pajama sets for $12. Boys' graphic tees for $5.18. Employees were very courteous and attentive, check out was super quick and easy, and I walked out with a bundle of goodies for a steal of a deal! I'll definitely be back to THIS location. So much better than the one I visited closer to me.

Oh, yes! I am a fan of Gymboree!…read more I had never shopped in Gymboree before. Ventured into one recently at a nearby mall location while on the hunt for a pair of shoes for my grandson. Didn't want athletic or velcro-closure shoes; we were looking for slip-on canvas shoes (and, no, we didn't want Van's since we've had a horrible experience with their quality and durability). Saw that Gymboree carried this style of shoes but they didn't have his size at the mall. Finding a Gymboree outlet was sweet! Excellent selection of both BOYS (yes, boys!) and girls clothing. And shoes! Store is clean and nicely organized. Excellent customer service, too. Shout out to Tangie who went above and beyond to help us locate the size and styling we needed. She was so helpful in assisting us find a second pair as well. Prices were great, and as stated, selection was superb. Hard to find a children's clothing store that stocks a good selection of clothing for boys. This store had it. I just wish it were a bit closer, but driving here via the Grand Parkway makes the trip much quicker and more tolerable (at least from my part of town). I will be back, that is for certain.

Also, I only shop when there is sale and use coupons so I normally get their clothes for less than I would spend at the 3 places listed above. I have Gymboree hand me downs from my nieces and my daughter is the third child to wear them and they still look great. The outlet store has the same stuff and the regular stores and items that were in the regular stores last year. You can get items shipped to the store for free if it is not available in the store but is available online, and I have always had great service at Gymboree stores. Tip: parenting magazines often have a 20% off coupon in each issue.

I've never been a massive fan of Old Navy if I'm being completely honest. There's just something about this store that seems too preppy and family-oriented and not edgy and fun enough. They're kind of expensive too, and this particular store seems to be lacking in a little bit of customer service, or not enough employees, or something else probably because it's so new. Many of the other stores in this Plaza also have the same problem. Another thing I will say is that with the Premium Outlets just next door, it almost seems a waste to have this right here, because you're almost certainly going to find cheaper stuff at the outlets.

To all the Fashionistas out in Houston, let me tell you about the this little boutique in cypress. Next time you are on your way out to the outlet malls on 290, do yourself a favor and go ahead and take the Barker Cypress exit and drop by this little gem of a store. Suburban Girl is one of my favorite little boutiques that I have found since my days being in San Francisco. NOTE: (( or for all you inner loopers (insert: my sister here) who heaven forbid you step outside the loop go ahead, grab yourself a coffee and take a mini road trip)), 1. Merchandise galor: dresses, shirts, hats, jeans, scarves, picture frames, jewelry, bags, boots, magnets, bottle stoppers, home decor the list can go on and on and on........ 2. Casual Eclectic style: ( For those of you who are more classic than eclectic...dont think they dont have stuff for you either) This store is constantly getting new merchandise and the owner makes it a point to order a limited amount of each style so that your chance of running into your own episode of "who wore it best" is slim to none. ( Let's face it, we have ALL been there, done that and hope and pray that it doesnt happen again.) 3. Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name: (Not kidding about this one..I'm a regular, and I am sure they would learn your name also if you drop by enough) I drop by the store about every other week to browse and see whats new plus as a bonus when I am on the road ( I travel ALOT on business) the owner also puts pictures on their facebook of the latest shipments so you can see what is new plus if there is something you are dying to have you can message her on facebook and she will hold it for you for a few hours so you can get in and try it on! 4. Prices: Great Prices..Dresses can range from 60 to 150 just to give you an idea 3. Friendly Staff: very warm and welcoming staff and ready to help you with any questions you may have, really easy going ladies. 4. Small Local Business: Supporting your local businesses is just good karma.

It should actually be named "Houston Premium Stores." There is virtually NO outlet prices on anything. Adidas store had a great selection, but proved my lack of outlet prices when I viewed a particular shoe that was labeled: Retail price: $100, our price: $100. Go figure! Selection at many of the other stores was minimal. They all appeared to have off-retail styles but with regular retail prices. Not so sure I'd made a special trip here for any of their usual stores. Only saving grace was that a Birkenstock store has opened here, which means that I won't need to drive downtown to Rice Village if I want a new pair of Birks!
