I have brought multiple shoes here and everything they have done has always been perfect. I had my shoe heels retipped and the soles replaced on a pear of heels. It's going to hurt me to leave this review because my mom was really recommending this place. Her and her boss who is a good family friend have been coming here forever. I had a few pairs of shoes I needed help with. One pair kinda got turned away. (I probably won't wear them anymore). The second pair was a pair of vintage 80's boots that had great patches of leather. They totally made those look like new! The third pair was the disappointment. It was a pair of designer heels that needed the inside patched up. The bottom kept sticking to my heels! They're still pretty and expensive but they didn't do a good job patching these up at all! The inside of the heel and strap are still peeling up. When you pay this kind of money to repair shoes, you expect them to look like new! I hate to say I won't be back. The guy that gave me my shoes upon pick up just said to apply clear polish on to the inside of the shoe and "that'll fix it!" No sir, I'm sorry, that's not gonna cut it! read more

So grateful to Walt's shoe repair for helping to modify my shoe after I had a botched foot surgery. It's because of Lisa and her staff that I'm now able to wear shoes in place of slippers. Had an expensive leather purse handle fixed and it looked brand new. Quick turnaround time and it was not a bad price. The only downside is that they're not the friendliest people. The lady who called to tell me my purse was ready was quite abrupt on the phone. When I went to pick up my bag the guy behind the counter was very short with me like he seemed agitated like I was there. He picked up my bag out of a bin that looked like a trash can. This is a quality place that fixes shoes in a timely manner! I always come here to get the tips of my heels replaced. And they'll shine up your shoes/boots at no extra cost! Their handy work is always really neat and the new heels are very sturdy! If you don't want to buy new shoes, come to Walt's and they'll fix them up for ya! I recently had them fix 3 pairs of shoes and it cost $37 total (that's with tax). Not a bad deal. That's better than having to buy a new pair of shoes! But just a little warning...you can only pay them with CASH or CHECK! Even though I clearly didn't see their signs saying this all over the shop and still tried to pay with a debit and the clerk (I think it was Walt) was still nice enough to take my card. This was my first time here and I am very impressed with the work. The initial customer service wasn't the best-but this is coming from the high standard of a former Chick-Fil-A employee. The work was definitely quality. I don't have comparisons for price, but replacing the bottoms of my leather frye boots was about $93 with tax. This shop ruined a brand new - never worn-pair of Lucchese boots for me. Value $700. I took them in to be stretched, and the owner said they could do it. The owner was not there when I picked them up, but there was a note on my ticket to "refund" my sale. Had no idea why, got the boots home and when I tried them on, found the hide to be cracked on the top of both boots, one side of which they tried to badly cover with marker. When I immediately called to find out what happened, he said I bought a pair of bad boots and suggested I send them back to Lucchese, and that he was not buying me a new pair of boots. Which I had not even suggested - all I wanted to know was what happened at that point. Unethical. All he kept saying was that he has a sign that says not responsible. Please do not risk quality footwear with this business. read more

Overpriced compared to other shoe shops in the area. Charged me $60 for 5 pairs of shoes that needed the tops changed. I would have paid $42 if I'd gone to the other shop I use which is a bit further. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for the convenience of not having to drive further but their service doesn't warrant the extra money. They did not polish any of the shoes I took. Compared to the other place I go to which polished my shoes and glued the part of the heel that had peeled off, this place is not worth it. Take your business elsewhere. I have been going to Walt's Shoe Shop for many years and the service has completely disappeared. My wife brought in a pair of boots with one heel coming off and Walt aggressively ripped off the other. Both boots were left to repair at that point and she was told they would be ready the following Friday. 2 and a half weeks later she went to pick up her boots and Not only were they not ready, Walt tried to intimidate my wife with his stature, harsh tone and by being absolutely disrespectful with excuses. Having to wait longer was not an issue at all, but words cannot express the disappointment I have with Walt and how he thinks he can treat people. Please take your business somewhere else and let Walt figure out how he can improve customer service and improve his quality of work. read more

Wow! If you have a favorite pair of heels that you've worn into the ground, Walt's can fix them. Mine look brand new!!! And it only cost $10 for them to completely repair and 3 or 4 days (can't remember when I dropped them off). I will be taking another 3 pairs of heels to them tomorrow to work their magic. I gave Walt a call and he invited me come down even after his business hours. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Gave them my shoes and was told to pick up in 2 weeks. Wasn't able to swing until today (3 weeks from the time of drop off). Took them over 5 minutes to even care to ask if they could help. Apparently they don't want new business. After standing and waiting, they finally asked and found my shoes in worst condition than when I dropped off and told me I would have to come back. They said they have been very busy and hadn't even gotten around to fixing them, but they did start by cutting my shoes and leaving them in that condition. I told them that I needed the shoes and they said I would have to take them somewhere else if I needed them sooner. WILL NOT BE BACK and certainly will tell everyone that I know NOT TO GO THERE. These guys are excellent. They're old school -- only take cash or check -- and do high-quality work. In reading other reviews, I'll say that I haven't noticed their prices to be any higher than other QUALITY shoe repair shops ... I'm sure they're higher than some that just slap a heel on, but for quality work, these guys are reasonable. They're also helpful. If you need he little heel on your pumps fixed, they'll do it while you wait. I live near downtown Houston but work off of Tomball Pkwy., so I was thrilled to find a shoe repair that was of this kind of quality out in NW Houston. (FYI, the way I found these guys was that I went to another place that couldn't repair my pumps' heels for 5 days. They referred me to Walt's Shoe Shop. Told me they were good people, who did good work, and could get to my heels that day.
