They are prompt and good value for their services!! I've had some special repairs that they tackled for me when others wouldn't touch it. Great shop!! read more

Brought in my 20+ year old Luchese boots to repair the boot pull straps that were coming undone. The repair was completed within a few days. I also asked for a polish. The boots look outstanding. Great service and very timely. read more

Great service and great repair! Was told it would be up to 2 weeks, but they were ready in 2 days! It's so hard to find a shoe repair shop anymore so this was such a pleasant surprise! read more

I have brought multiple shoes here and everything they have done has always been perfect. I had my shoe heels retipped and the soles replaced on a pear of heels. They are reasonably priced, especially for the quality of products and the workmanship. I am grateful I was lucky enough to have found them right away. read more

Great service. Took a pair of boots in that were about 10 years old. Needed a heel replacement, to stretch the middle out and a shine. Awesome job. Boots look great and are way more comfortable. I will be taking my boots here from now on. The price was very on point with the service. read more

Walt's Shoe Shop - Like new but fit better. - Shoe Repair Near Me - Houston, Texas

Unbelievable service and excellent work. Almost makes you want to take all of your shoes in for a tune-up! Nostalgia+++ and great pricing.

I decided to try this place out and did not regret it. I needed my shoes to be super shiny for my police academy graduation. They had it done the same day and for a reasonable price. I'm impressed by the customer service and quality of their work. read more

In a disposable society it's so nice to still find a business that cares about maintaining things! They saved my favorite pumps and I will get a lot more mileage out of them. Thank you! read more

Amazing repair on a back pack and a pair of shoes. Great price friendly staff quick repairs

I was so lucky to find this place, I brought in a few pairs of shoes that needed the heels fixed and the leather was starting to look bad, I dropped them off and when I picked them up, they all looked like brand new shoes!! The people here are beyond friendly, and do amazing work. They saved all my shoes! I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs shoe repair. read more

It's going to hurt me to leave this review because my mom was really recommending this place. Her and her boss who is a good family friend have been coming here forever. I had a few pairs of shoes I needed help with. One pair kinda got turned away. (I probably won't wear them anymore). The second pair was a pair of vintage 80's boots that had great patches of leather. They totally made those look like new! The third pair was the disappointment. It was a pair of designer heels that needed the inside patched up. The bottom kept sticking to my heels! They're still pretty and expensive but they didn't do a good job patching these up at all! The inside of the heel and strap are still peeling up. When you pay this kind of money to repair shoes, you expect them to look like new! I hate to say I won't be back. The guy that gave me my shoes upon pick up just said to apply clear polish on to the inside of the shoe and "that'll fix it!" No sir, I'm sorry, that's not gonna cut it! read more

See all

Replaced a heel on my boots which cost $12 and they were ready when they said they would be. I will definitely be coming back!

What a great job reheeling my favorite boots!! So good in fact that I took another pair to them too! Great service and very nice people. read more

So grateful to Walt's shoe repair for helping to modify my shoe after I had a botched foot surgery. It's because of Lisa and her staff that I'm now able to wear shoes in place of slippers. Lisa has had foot problems herself so she understands how painful they can be. She was very patient and together we figured out the best shoe modification for me. I'm so very grateful to her and the staff. read more

Had an expensive leather purse handle fixed and it looked brand new. Quick turnaround time and it was not a bad price. The only downside is that they're not the friendliest people. The lady who called to tell me my purse was ready was quite abrupt on the phone. When I went to pick up my bag the guy behind the counter was very short with me like he seemed agitated like I was there. He picked up my bag out of a bin that looked like a trash can. Kinda off putting. read more

not helpful. I called to see if they would clean a leather handbag. They said "maybe bring it in." I don't really see the point in driving over there to have them say they can't do the cleaning or overcharge me. It's houston-people live far from everything. Please if you are the owner/person who works here give an estimate or say you don't clean leather handbags. read more

This is a quality place that fixes shoes in a timely manner! I always come here to get the tips of my heels replaced. And they'll shine up your shoes/boots at no extra cost! Their handy work is always really neat and the new heels are very sturdy! If you don't want to buy new shoes, come to Walt's and they'll fix them up for ya! I recently had them fix 3 pairs of shoes and it cost $37 total (that's with tax). Not a bad deal. That's better than having to buy a new pair of shoes! But just a little warning...you can only pay them with CASH or CHECK! Even though I clearly didn't see their signs saying this all over the shop and still tried to pay with a debit and the clerk (I think it was Walt) was still nice enough to take my card. But I could tell he was annoyed. Whoops. read more

5 star service! Dropped off my Michael Kors heels for repairs and he went above and beyond to make them like new again! Excellent same day service! Will return here! read more

This was my first time here and I am very impressed with the work. The initial customer service wasn't the best-but this is coming from the high standard of a former Chick-Fil-A employee. The work was definitely quality. I don't have comparisons for price, but replacing the bottoms of my leather frye boots was about $93 with tax. That's much cheaper than new boots, so I'm all for it! read more

This shop ruined a brand new - never worn-pair of Lucchese boots for me. Value $700. I took them in to be stretched, and the owner said they could do it. The owner was not there when I picked them up, but there was a note on my ticket to "refund" my sale. Had no idea why, got the boots home and when I tried them on, found the hide to be cracked on the top of both boots, one side of which they tried to badly cover with marker. When I immediately called to find out what happened, he said I bought a pair of bad boots and suggested I send them back to Lucchese, and that he was not buying me a new pair of boots. Which I had not even suggested - all I wanted to know was what happened at that point. Unethical. All he kept saying was that he has a sign that says not responsible. Please do not risk quality footwear with this business. read more

Overpriced compared to other shoe shops in the area. Charged me $60 for 5 pairs of shoes that needed the tops changed. I would have paid $42 if I'd gone to the other shop I use which is a bit further. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for the convenience of not having to drive further but their service doesn't warrant the extra money. They did not polish any of the shoes I took. Compared to the other place I go to which polished my shoes and glued the part of the heel that had peeled off, this place is not worth it. FYI they only accept cash or check which makes it a pain in the a** read more

They did good work on putting new soles and heels on my dress boots. They were back logged two weeks but worth it. I'll be back thanks again. read more

This place is the best! Excellent service, great prices. I've been taking my shoes here for months and it's the only place I'll go. Very satisfied customer. Bring your shoes there once and you will soon become a regular! read more

Take your business elsewhere. I have been going to Walt's Shoe Shop for many years and the service has completely disappeared. My wife brought in a pair of boots with one heel coming off and Walt aggressively ripped off the other. Both boots were left to repair at that point and she was told they would be ready the following Friday. 2 and a half weeks later she went to pick up her boots and Not only were they not ready, Walt tried to intimidate my wife with his stature, harsh tone and by being absolutely disrespectful with excuses. Having to wait longer was not an issue at all, but words cannot express the disappointment I have with Walt and how he thinks he can treat people. Please take your business somewhere else and let Walt figure out how he can improve customer service and improve his quality of work. read more

Walt knows his stuff! Good service, decent prices, even has some good boots for sale. Got my steel toe work shoes repaired. Highly recommend him. read more

I do not usually write reviews but this friendly family owned and operated business desires a shout out..I have been taking my shoes and boots here for repair for over a year and I have been extremely satisfied with the work and the prices read more

Good work but they're never open even for a small window on Saturday's which means I'll probably have to stop using them. I get too busy during the week and would like to pick them up over the weekend but that's not possible. Walt also has been disrespectful to us with an attitude. read more

Wow! If you have a favorite pair of heels that you've worn into the ground, Walt's can fix them. Mine look brand new!!! And it only cost $10 for them to completely repair and 3 or 4 days (can't remember when I dropped them off). I will be taking another 3 pairs of heels to them tomorrow to work their magic. And the people running it are very nice. He told me they've been in business like 23 years? 17 in the current location. Good stuff! Make sure to take your checkbook - no credit or debit. read more

I've been using the 249 location for several years, & now use the Tomball location since it's closer. Never had a problem. High quality work. Good business owners & good customer service. read more

They don't know how to sew a straight line when re- soling a boot. Put clear wax over dirty leather. They would not reduce $100 charge for inferior work. They should stick with re-heeling womens shoes or learn boot re-soling and customer satisfaction. read more

Not enough kind things to say about Walt. I was in town on business and needed last minute adjustments to a couple of leather belts. I gave Walt a call and he invited me come down even after his business hours. He took care of the belts that same evening with fine craftmanship, speedy service while I waited, and at a very reasonable price. Not many businesses or business owners like this are around anymore. He cares about his customers. If you need any leather work or shoe repair go see Walt. He'll take care of you! read more

I took a belt for shortening and my boots to be repaired and they did a great job! Turn a round time was quick. Nice friendly people. No complaints. read more

I've used this place for several years off and on. The location is convenient. They are not the friendliest group of people, but the work is good. I think the prices are too high also. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Gave them my shoes and was told to pick up in 2 weeks. Wasn't able to swing until today (3 weeks from the time of drop off). Took them over 5 minutes to even care to ask if they could help. Apparently they don't want new business. After standing and waiting, they finally asked and found my shoes in worst condition than when I dropped off and told me I would have to come back. They said they have been very busy and hadn't even gotten around to fixing them, but they did start by cutting my shoes and leaving them in that condition. I told them that I needed the shoes and they said I would have to take them somewhere else if I needed them sooner. WILL NOT BE BACK and certainly will tell everyone that I know NOT TO GO THERE. HATEFUL PEOPLE. I would not give them any stars, but in order to let people know how awful I was treated I had to give 1 star. read more

Just the very best. Walt is friendly, conscientious and does consistently good work. Just good old fashion customer service. Worth going out of my way too. I'm sure I could find a "repair" service closer, but no way I'd get the quality. I've tried. I usually bring in high quality men's dress shoes to be resoled. Save myself $150 over a new pair. read more

These guys are excellent. They're old school -- only take cash or check -- and do high-quality work. In reading other reviews, I'll say that I haven't noticed their prices to be any higher than other QUALITY shoe repair shops ... I'm sure they're higher than some that just slap a heel on, but for quality work, these guys are reasonable. They're also helpful. If you need he little heel on your pumps fixed, they'll do it while you wait. I live near downtown Houston but work off of Tomball Pkwy., so I was thrilled to find a shoe repair that was of this kind of quality out in NW Houston. (FYI, the way I found these guys was that I went to another place that couldn't repair my pumps' heels for 5 days. They referred me to Walt's Shoe Shop. Told me they were good people, who did good work, and could get to my heels that day. There's got to be something special about a business when its competitors think enough of them to refer business to them.) read more
