I have purchased two cars from David Schapiro at Cartelligent and had a pleasant experience. Recently, I asked him if he knew of a good shipping company as I am in the process of moving back east and wanted to ship a car to Connecticut. He informed me that his company did that and referred me to one of his employees. Let's call her "L". From the moment I was first introduced to this woman to our final communication, I received very poor customer service and a complete lack of accurate information on the whereabouts of my car, the cost of the transport, and when I would receive the vehicle. She was incredibly rude and unresponsive. I won't go into the details because I think that's unimportant but I will say that if you are getting a bid for shipping your car make sure you get it in writing prior to letting them have the car and insist on all the details in writing as well. I learned my lesson. I was told the fee for arranging the shipping through Cartelligent was $275 but ultimately there were hidden fees, which I knew nothing about. I also saw the invoice that the trucker had on board and the actual price of shipping the car was a lot less than I was charged. We were disappointed with our experience. We signed up for their most expensive "luxury" package and shared that we were in a hurry to secure a car and hoped to get it within a few days. To be fair, we understand cars are hard to find and that Cartelligent only partners with certain dealers. We also went through a couple different car searches when they couldn't find our first request and then when we changed our minds to a different car. Overall we found there to be a lack of transparency, poor communication, and slow results from their research team. We were told there were zero models available of the car we wanted through their partner dealers but found one ourselves. (I found one within one hour when I did my own research.) I also found another the next day when a different one of their partner dealers contacted me saying they just got the car I wanted on their lot.
