If I could negative stars, I would!
Please save your money and find a nice local family-owned body shop to do your work. I had a bad scrape on the bottom of my car, to which I was given a estimate of approximately $3,500. Mind you, the guy only just looked at it and gave a price, instead of actually inspecting it. Talk about scamming your insurance company! But we are certified in the body work for your particular make/mode of your car, they proudly assert. I'm sorry but just because your certified in something doesn't mean a damn thing. Hell, I have many certifications from various societies but they don't mean anything except for a resume builder. But I digress. The point is that I was grossly overcharged and was told it would take 7-10 days to complete the work.
What they didn't know is that I have a Ph.D. in mathematics and have knowledge in accounting and price assessment. It also helps that I'm friends with mechanics and body shop owners from all over the country. Even they said that was a rip-off. Long story short, I found a nice local family-owned body shop that did a BEAUTIFUL job. They actually inspected the damage, assessed it, walked me through the process of the repair needed. And it only took 4 days and $893.59, their exact estimate which I paid out of pocket! No insurance necessary!
Case in point, don't even bother coming to this place! Who gives a damn about certification? Go to Google, find a nice local shop with high reviews and appears busy and give them your business. And I would highly suggest you contact your insurance companies and tell them to drop this place from their list of recommended shops! read more
