A clean, orderly, well-appointed RV campground with convenient full hookups and access to laundry, two jacuzzis, a small gym and three dining options. Was a great place to stop over post-Burn and recover from a burly six-hour RV scrubdown. read more

I stayed here recently for a friends wedding. I never knew Minden even existed until this past weekend. A great place to stay and rest your head. I would have to say this place is like Las Vegas since it's in Nevada, with a small town feel minus the replicas of pyramids, pirates and Paris. Well worth it, great room rates, comfy rooms and the restaurant in the casino offers a lot of great choices to soak up the alcohol after a long night of celebrating. read more

Oh how I love to stay at the Carson Valley Inn wake up the next morning and have a delicious breakfast while playing a fun game of keno. The food is great, large portions, and friendly staff. The rooms also seem spacious, clean, and quiet. I love the decor of this place and to me its much nicer than any other hotels in town. My Grandparents also had a really lovely 50th Anniversary party here several years ago and I have many fond memories of this Inn. They also have discounts for those over 62. I just went on their website and they also have other package deals that seem fairly reasonable and include gift certificates to the Restaurant. Seems like a good deal for such a cozy place! read more

We have been coming here for years. Very clean with a laundry room. Casino is right next door with restaurant and swimming pool and hot tub. Everyone here is super friendly and go out of their way to please you. Liz has always gone out of her way to make sure if we are with friends or family to get us side by side. read more

Clean casino, not smokey like other casinos and the food at Katie's is cheap but good. A fun place to hang out, we spent many nights here on our vacation. read more

Pretty cool room for a decent price a little stuffy. They put us right next to Security office. Not like I was up to anything I just get nervous around dudes with weapons. Liked the indoor pool, and liked the feel of the hotel. read more

Good service. Only thing is that they own other motel right besides the main building(the one with casino). I thought I will get a room in a building with casino but they gave me in other building. Other then that it's all good. read more

What a wonderful place to stay! I live in Reno but come to the area for work and decided to stay over. The people that work here provide excellent customer service. Liz, at the front desk, went out of her way to help correct an error I had made in my reservation and made checking in and out a breeze. The hotel and restaurants are clean and modern. I can recommend the hotel whole heartedly and will be staying here again. read more

Since Bob Baffert took over CVI, the entire Facility has been undergoing renovations. The new rooms are very nice. The one we stayed in had all new, lush, dark-hardwood furniture...very nice. And the bathroom upgrades are in keeping with the overall new look. Even though I had a little vehicle mishap in the parking lot with a senior, I will still go back and recommend it. Oh, and did I mention that the slots are starting to pay out!!! read more

Perfect stay at this place! It's just half hour's drive from south lake Tahoe by a very scenic route. My girlfriend and I booked a room in the motor lodge, but it's very big and clean, better than many 3-star hotels at much higher rate. The best part of our stay is the beautiful pool and Jacuzzi, we went there around 11pm so there were only 3 or 4 people, we spent a very sweet night there. read more

We had the pleasure of staying at CVI this past weekend for the second time in three years. The hotel, restaurants and casino are all very clean but one thing that sets it apart from other places we've stayed is the people. Everyone really seems like they love their job and that "happy feeling" gets passed on to their guests. We saw several people that we had remembered from our last stay which I believe really shows employee satisfaction. The rooms are large. We brought our twin girls and they had two cribs for us in the room and there was still plenty of room. The food is pretty good and a great value. We'll be going back for sure. read more

The Carson Valley Inn, in Minden, NV, is newly renovated, with great rooms, food (2 restaurants, one is open 24 hours. The views are beautiful, surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the heart of ranch country. I enjoyed swimming in the fantastic indoor pool, and then soaking in the hot tubs. They even have a complete exercise center. The prices are very low, considering the terrific room amenities and the scrumptious food. The slots are state of the art technology. Best of all, the staff is so friendly and helpful--typical rural Nevada hospitality. You must see this treasure to believe that it offers so much for so little. We come here.even though we are residents of the town, We take a "vacation" from our daily routines at this marvelous inn. read more

Stayed here Thursday night with my parents, both elderly using canes. We were to stay in the motor lodge, and the lady at the counter said they only had 2 beds available upstairs and no elevator. She asked us to hold a minute and she checked the hotel portion. The only non smoking availability they had was a king bed and they could put a roll a away bed in the room. It was a more expensive room but they didn't charge us more. From the reception desk to the valet, everyone we encountered was so kind and helpful. The room was nice and very clean. We ate at Katie's a coffee shop/diner type of restaurant, good food, good prices. We don't like cigarette smoke and you know in a casino you have to expect it, but I must say, they had great air filtration. I recommend this hotel and if we come up here again, we will be staying here. read more

We stayed at the motor lodge and it was by far one of the nicest motels one could ask for. The room was very clean and updated with a modern feel. The front desk staff was friendly and the wi-fi was AMAZING. My only complaint is that parking is kind of limited and you might not get a parking spot in front of your room. read more

So I would have to say my favorite place to watch football in Gardnerville/Minden period. New TV's and great service... stayed at the lodge which is a long block or 2 from casino. No real complaints other than the a/c felt like a small fan only and nights were a little warm. I have been staying at the Carson Valley for about 13 years now. Was not sure when it change owners how things would be but I still love going there. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I just spent three days in Minden to watch my nephews Little League tournament. Dined and shopped in and around the area and had nothing but horrible service everywhere I went....CVI was the exception, clean newly renovated rooms, great service at both restaurants and the dealers at the casino were exceptionally friendly. The front desk staff came up a little short but probably just paled in comparison I suppose. ? read more

We're currently staying in the RV park but decided to stay in the hotel for a night to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arriving to our room we were greeted by the concierge with a bottle of Champagne and 2 flutes. Very unexpected and a nice surprise! The rooms was very nice, large and clean. For us, the coffee was a few steps away and refills were free. Pool and hot tubs were indoors and great for this time of year. Overall, a very nice experience. read more

So I accidentally booked a Smoking room through Booking.com I or we have never been smokers. This was my fault. At the registration desk Misty was still very helpful with my error. Since there were no more non smoking rooms she offered to ionize the room for us. It would have taken 45 minutes (which we were not willing to wait). Misty then offered to take me to the room so I could check it out. She kindly showed me the room and it ended up working out just fine. It did not actually have smoke smell to it ans it was fine. I really appreciated Misty's thoroughness in trying to accommodate for my mistake. Truly excellent customer service! The room was clean! we stayed in 104. It was close to everything. The shower pressure was the best! It was the best shower I ever had! We were also able to order food on the property from Katie's Kitchen and pick up and bring it back to our room. Katie's Kitchen had great customer service, Addy was so helpful when we ordered. They have the best biscuits and gravy and french toast. We even got to eat in the restaurant, something my husband wanted to do! YAY! The eggs Benedict was also wonderful. Norma in the little pastry/snack house was so friendly and I had a great conversation with her. Although I chose this place so my family could swim we didn't actually swim but we did check the pool out. The pool was very nice and clean, smelled like a lot of chlorine but I tend to think that is a good thing! All in all we only stayed one night but I can tell you from beginning to end the customer service was excellent, from the the front desk to the waiter who brought me drinks. We needed an extra towel and when we called within minutes we had nice fresh towels. I would highly recommend this place. Parking was free and there were enough places to park for the property. It is 45 min from South Lake Tahoe where we enjoyed our Labor Day shenanigans. Would definitely stay again. Keep up the great work Carson Valley Inn! read more

Horrible, awful customer service. Checked in with our SERVICE dog. Some drunk lady knocked on our door by accident and the dog barked so we were asked to leave. When we explained about the SERVICE animal the personnel got angry and loud and my husband's SERVICE animal barked at him. He called the sheriff's department and when they came he said the dog bit him and was out of control. There was no proof. No holes in his pants and no blood or anything. My husband was in the army and in Iraq and needs a SERVICE dog and this place does not support Veterans or their animals. They threatened to charge us $250 for the 25 minutes we were in the room before being thrown out. The front desk representative was beyond rude and it is obvious they don't care about their Veterans and their rights. Stay at the Quality Inn. They are super friendly and love pets. read more

What an absolute nightmare. Never, ever again will we deal with Carson Valley Inn. My sister got married in Genoa on 08/14/16 and we had booked collectively 10 rooms with this casino. We had called ahead to request 3 rooms be ready early to allow the bridal party to get ready in the room, Mary Jane had put in requests for us to do so. I had called ahead several times to triple check and make sure everything was going to run smoothly upon check in, we were reassured that they have our requests etc. My last call was at 11 am, the day of the wedding and they were expecting us at 12 pm to get ready. We had last minute errands, we ended up arriving at Carson Valley Inn @ 1:20 pm. My friend was already there trying to check in and she was visibly upset at how rude the staff was being to her. She had confirmation showing she had booked a non smoking room, yet they had her in a smoking room, which she could not stay in. Management refused to accommodate due to their mistake, she ended up cancelling her reservation and staying at a nearby hotel instead. We then tried to check in, a staff member by the name of Gil, was assisting us. NEVER, in all my years of travel, international included, have I encountered such a rude staff member. He was rude, condescending, inattentive and completely unwilling to help. Rooms were not ready, another staff member, Liz, was laughing at our issues next to him. A complete NIGHTMARE. I'm sorry we arranged for people to stay at this venue. read more

I will be the first to admit that I prefer to stay in a B&B, Airbnb or the like. However through a series of miscommunication with our other reservation, my BF and I ended up at the Carson Valley Inn. We were a little hesitant at first however once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Our room wasn't anything fancy but it was clean and well kept. TV worked well which is not always the case in hotels. Sheets and towels were clean and did not appear worn. We ate at the steakhouse on property (which I will review separately) and spent a little time in the hot tub. The pool area was nicer than we anticipated. Since I work in the hospitality industry I can say that it was actually nicer than a few places I've worked. The towels near the pool were kind of small but we brought extras from our room. One negative was that the shower knob did not work well. I had to have my BF really work with it for a minute to get it to come on. I know that kind of stuff happens with older plumbing. On the plus side they stock Tarocco products which smell great. Overall we had a nice stay. I would recommend it to those traveling through the area. Don't judge a book by it's cover :) read more

Hotel rooms are nice and so is the casino and dining areas. Pool and spas are perfect! The environment here was very much relaxed and most the vacationers were retirement age. Staff was nice! read more

We booked the hotel using booking.com and was told that we had to stay in the lodge which is a block from the main site. The room is subpar and looks like it is still in the 70's. There are no elevators and the pool is in the main location which is a block away. Beware- they do not inform you of this motor lodge when booking! The photos on the site are of the main building and not the motor lodge! read more

We were put up here as part of David Walleys time share promotion. All scheduling was perfect with no mistakes on room or type. Staff were very friendly and machines were on the loose side. Smoke from smokers were prevalent the minute you enter but disappeared as you went to rooms. Pool and hot tubs was great, but they only supply tiny hand towels at the pool. Place was clean and room was refurbished with excellent results. read more

A few positives about the RV park: clean grounds, quiet guests, initial check-in from unmanned kiosk, well-defined and numbered spots, good lighting, coin-operated laundry room, restrooms and showers available. Negatives: after doing hook-ups, etc, you must walk across a long parking lot to the front of a very smoky casino with no signs to indicate where RV guests are to complete registrations. After standing in line at Guest Services, I was informed that I would have to walk through the entire casino and go to the bottom level. Again, no signage. I found a desk with a sign saying "Registrations," stood in line (again) to speak with a very kind employee, who checked my driver's license and credit card, have me a packet containing park rules, a map, info about appropriate dog behavior, and our two key cards. I was given another maze-like path through the lower level of the casino, then exited through a cloud of cigarette smoke at back door (employees on break,) back across the asphalt parking lot and to my rig. Eagerly anticipating a hot shower and use of the restroom, I packed my kit and walked to the facilities...only to find out my key card wouldn't work in either the laundry or restroom facilities! By this time, I decided to take care of business in my rig (it was after 9pm,) then called the front desk to complain and ask for a discount due to the card and was told "yeah...that happens a lot. There's nothing we can do for you." The rep said she would have the MOB (whatever that was!) calls in the morning so as not to disturb me. Twenty minutes later, I received a call back, again telling me I should have walked back to registration earlier to exchange key cards, since this happened "all the time"! I should note that walking is extremely challenging for me - & I use a cane (which the registration rep could clearly see), but that didn't seem to matter. So, despite the positives I encountered with guests, cleanliness and easy reservations, this key card business really colored my overall experience in a negative way. read more

This casino allows cigar smoking....Yeeeech...It really stinks in the lounge and in the casino.........NOT recommended...Choke......gasp

Just finished a family vacation here and had a lovely time. The room and hotel overall are not that fancy and or special but for what's available in the area the hotel is a gem. The Hotel is clean and comfortable. They provided us with two nice pack n plays for our girls to sleep in. The staff and house keeping is exceptionally nice and accommodating. Way more so than any fancy LA hotels. Everyone who works here is genuinely kind and friendly and extremely helpful ... which comes in handy when you are traveling with small children. The BEST part of the hotel is the pool. They have a beautiful in-door heated pool and two hottubs. I'm usually weary of public pools because they never seem clean enough to me but this pool is VERY clean and to say my girls were obsessed is an understatement. We went swimming twice a day. Early morning and in the evenings and they loved it. The pool is open early until 10 pm. The hotel is a mile away from a swim center also so it's very kid friendly over all. Overall we had a great time and it's 30 from Tahoe and skiing. read more

The personnel at the CVI are so accommodating and friendly. They bent over backwards for our daughter, granddaughter and Mr Blake, our great grandson with a parlor room. Also, not one bad word about the CV Steak House....great food. Overall the entire visit was a "winner." Thank you all for your help. read more

Smoky, Smoky, Smoky- I hate this Place-the locals have over taken this Casino-and most are Seniors who Smoke you completely away from the machine you are playing- The Rewards Program is a Joke- They should do something about their ventilation system- the air does not circulate and even staying and playing there for the shortest time - you go home with smoke smell in your hair and on your clothes and count on a sinus infection. Don't expect any courtesy from the older people that are locals that live in this place- if you are playing a machine and they decide they want your machine- they will smoke you out until you move. I hate this place- Not worth getting sick from all the smoke in there. read more

I will not stay at this hotel EVER again. I am visiting from California and visiting my grandchildren. I wanted my grandchildren to stay with us at the hotel so they could use the pool. The hotel set us up at another section of the hotel 2 properties next to the main hotel which meant that we had to drive our grandchildren to and from the main hotel. My itinerary had the address to the main hotel. Had they advised me that we would not be at the same hotel, I would have stayed elsewhere. And of course the hotel did not have any vacancy at the main hotel. Beware when making reservations! I will not return to this establishment!! read more

This used to be the place to go in the Carson Valley, but ever since it sold its gone to the dumps. I have tried Katies 3 times since it sold and each time the service was slow and the food was unpalatable. Went and tried CV Strak last week. The Ribeye was greasy not fatty greasy. The lobster was over cooked and salad was overly dressed. It took almost an hour to get our food. Its sad to say but I have no reason to go here anymore. read more

What a great hotel, casino, pool, restaurant, etc. etc. My husband & I discovered this when my parents recommended that we stay here while on our trip through Nevada. It's only about 30 minutes south of Reno, and 30 minutes over the hill from South Lake Tahoe. They have a casino with all the works, any slot/video poker machine you could hope for, table games, poker, etc. There are three restaurants (the typical fine dining, which we didn't try; the 24 hour cafe, which was about the tastiest restaurant I had ever been to at 3 a.m. after a long night in the casino, and the deli serving sandwiches & drinks, which was fine). Nice staff, huge hotel rooms; the second floor is all non-smoking, which was great . But the best thing - the pool and the two hot tubs! It's an indoor pool, shaped like Nevada, which was very cute...the pool & hot tubs are open until midnight, but I can tell ya that we were in the hot tub well past midnight, and no one came in to bother us to get out. The hot tubs (which are also indoors) also have a nice view of the mountains, and I was digging the oldies which they were blasting over the sound system. We spent a great two days at the CVI & plan on going back!!!! read more

My first time gambling in a casino. I've had a headache all day from so much smoke. I live with smokers so I'm somewhat used to it. But wow, this was bad. My eyes are still burning 6 hours later.
