I was exhausted, trying to look for a particular store. I ended up calling them... it was outside... in an extention of the mall! Where the little train runs! Haha! I didn't see any current directory. Directions must be online? I appreciated the free parking, air-conditioning, and convenient restrooms!

I'd like to consider ourselves as mall connoisseurs- we are always at Santa Anita Mall, South Coast Plaza and Brea Mall. We rarely visit Del Amo and I'm pleasantly surprised by how clean and the touch light walls are working. The rugs don't seem super grimey either. I particularly enjoy the layout that the play area is enclosed. The mall seems very safe with multiple security mall cops on moving scooters surveillance-ing around at all times. The nicer part of the mall with new shops like Chagee and Uniqlo is bright and open. Aritzia is opening soon too and Somi Somi is here for a sweet treat after playing

You can do groceries, get bargain buys and get a snack or a meal after all at the same place. The only issue here is that during peak hours (or days) parking can be a challenge! (Most especially on the weekends.) I mean, these spots are pretty dang popular. So, plan ahead, plan accordingly. I can always find a bargain at one of the stores to fit my budget. I love that they added JD Sports in the place of Big 5. I get all my hubby's Vapormax shoes from JD. Great choice mall management. I appreciate that the mall grounds inside and out are kept clean. It's so convenient when you need an item asap and can't wait for delivery. The lots are pretty well lit and mall security is visible. I even saw mall security give a citation to someone who was double parked. I didn't know that could happen. Overall I give our little mall an A+! This plaza is running a shady operation by aggressively towing cars to make money. They have a…read moretiny, almost unnoticeable sign at the entrance about towing, and if you don't immediately enter a store after parking, they call the towing company right away. They even have someone secretly monitoring you without any warning. How do they determine who's a customer and when? They don't--they just don't care. To make matters worse, the towing company is within walking distance, so they show up almost instantly. Getting your car back will cost you around $500, making this an outright scam. It's clearly a setup to trap unsuspecting visitors and make a quick profit. Avoid this place unless you want to deal with an unnecessary and extremely costly headache.

I first visited this plaza to watch movies with friends in the late 1990s. And on some nights with new movie openings, the lines were so long they wrapped around the building. Yikes! There's been a lot of turnover the last couple of decades that I can't remember some of the earlier tenants. A fav Japanese restaurant with a large diverse dessert menu had closed, replaced by Hakata Yamaya (renamed as Yamaya). Most recently, SHIOK! Asian Street Food (family fav for delish sandwiches & boba drinks) was closed due to downturn from the COVID-19 pandemic, replaced with Hanky's Hot Chicken, followed by Tap Society Brews & Bites (its sister Caps & Corks is still open) all within 4 years. Not sure why this particular spot always had high turnover. Bed Bath & Beyond is another former resident that I often shopped at for home goods, especially when I first moved to the South Bay. Although I no longer visit this AMC as much, I still shop & dine fairly regularly at the plaza: Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Nijiya Market, Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea, Mendocino Farms, Lunasia Dim Sum House, Stonefire Grill, Nice China Cafe, Pinwheel Cafe Bakery, Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, California Pizza Kitchen, Veggie Grill, Iccho Restaurant, Kabab Curry of India, Fanoos Grill. I'm sure there are others that I missed (supposedly there's 80+ eateries & retail tenants). While parking is plentiful, vacancies are challenging during lunch & dinner rushes, & weekends. Rolling Hills Plaza is one of the larger outdoor spaces for one-stop dining, shopping, & entertainment for the whole family... workout, grab a coffee, shop, dine, & watch a movie in one go.

The only place worth going to here was the 99c store, otherwise, there really was nothing else. Then demolition and construction started going up a year or so ago. Popular spots are now occupying and making the most of this prime space: The Habit, BurgerIM, Starbucks, Jersey Mike's. There's even a fitness center. And the good news is they did all this without having to compromise other businesses standing there beforehand: the pet store, UPS, 99c store. Last but not least, they didn't compromise the amount of parking available for all patrons despite all these new and popular trendy spots. And the project isn't done yet - it's looking like there's still some revamping going on. Looking forward to this corner's final look. It's a way overdue (and well-deserved) upgrade.
