I remember first coming here in 2003. They felt like true outlet stores, with heavily discounted merchandise. Today, it feels like a regular-priced mall. And many items are not cheap. For example, I was interested in a pair of jeans, but checked online, and Macy's was cheaper with their current sale! Several places had buy one, get one 50% off, so 25% off total, which you can find at a regular mall. There also used to be a larger variety of stores, especially in housewares. I would say 80% of the stores are now clothing or shoes. There is a Disney Outlet for toys, Samsonite for luggage, and Vitamin World. There are, of course, sunglasses. The food court is OK, but it gets very busy on the weekends. The only real sit-down restaurant is Ruby's. One thing to know: the cell phone reception is REALLY bad! Several locations have free wi-fi for customers, but I found a few required a password. Another not-so-smart thing is that the bathrooms near the food court have only 3 single-use bathrooms! There are larger ones towards the middle of the mall. But near a food court? Come on guys.

I also came across the Time Capsule, that will be opened in 2056, which is the year of its 100th anniversary. It would be cool to see what was put inside on October 17, 2016. I've been here several times to eat at some of the restaurants. Parking is plentiful. You can spend an entire day here browsing the stores, watching a movie, and grabbing a bite to eat.

I came in and looked at the bread and there was A HUGE FLY INSIDE where the bread was at!! It was flying super slow like it had been in there for a while. I told one of the girls and she dare give me attitude because I told her there was a fly in there!! She said "what else did you need" I said "nothing else! Just need you to take care of this!" And she said okay. I walked away and went to other little stores. As I was leaving I looked to see if she got rid of the bread and the bread was in there still. Same one as when I told her to get rid of the fly. All she did was get rid of the fly and she left the tainted bread in there!!!! Disgusting!!! This is people's health ya'll are playing with!!! Not okay and never going back there. People pay $$ for edible food , and these establishments just don't gaf. I told everyone I know about my experience so they can be aware!! Still lots of little things you can buy like shoes, cookware, pinatas+candy, food, candy etc. Feeling kind of sour aftertaste from the arcade games (that uses credit card system). I got $10 worth of credits and then all the machines suddenly turned off. Now I'm stuck with a half full card that only works at this arcade. Located near the Arts District this space of buildings used to be utilized for the textile industry. With multi floored buildings creating rows of foot traffic on the ground this space is perfect for events, pop ups, and get togethers. It's one of the reasons why Smorgasburg is held here on Sundays. It's why on any given weekend there may be an event being held, whether it be to celebrate AAPI month or the different creatives in the area. This space is filled with homegrown businesses and unique shops to visit. One of my favorite places is Hightide which is a Japanese stationary and supplies shop. The vibes are immaculate and walking in really feels like being in a store in Japan. Another popular space is Scent Bar for those who love perfume and are aromaphiles. With plenty of small curated artists being featured in this apothecary of aromas, Scent Bar is a nice stop whilst visiting the Row. If you're looking for interesting and discussion worthy furniture A+R is a must, located at one of the ends of the Row. For good coffee with artistic vibes you got to check out GGET (Go Get Em Tiger). Next to that if you're looking for stronger waters is Flask & Field with smaller batch and independent distilleries and crafters. All of this and the parking is free for the first 2 hours. In LA, that's unheard of! And it's a large parking structure with modern infrastructure. Blessed. With all this, hopefully ROW DTLA will continue to grow with more businesses and still retain its charm as time marches forward. Good for a short stay or half a day, if you're looking for things to do in LA proper, ROW DTLA is worth your drive.
