"Off the chart" Delicious.. Quick getaway from Fl, locals we talking about this place. Glad we stopped in for dinner. Busy, only waited 15 minutes. Started out with Brunswick Stew- Most places can't get this right.... Carroll's does.. perfect balance of seasonings and lots of meat... delicious! Sever was "on point". Love the "tablet" ordering system - Smart owners thinking ahead before opening for business. I ordered combo with rib bone, wings and pulled pork... perfectly prepared. Fall off the bone ribs were "killer GOOD" wings had a crisp skin, tender and moist. Wife went crazy over pulled pork. No room for dessert, but saw a few skillet dessert dishes get served to tables close by... nothing left so I assume it was good. Maybe next time. Keep grilling and good luck!! We ordered takeout from here, and it was amazing! Beans were great, not overly sweet. Mac and cheese seemed high quality, not that grainy stuff you usually get from restaurants. Ribs were absolutely the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. The pulled pork was not fatty whatsoever, perfect. I wish I lived closer to this place! Was vacationing the area for Thanksgiving and saw online recommendations for Carroll's. Was very thankful that they were doing preorders for Thanksgiving. Everything went smoothly. Delicious BBQ while in the Blue Ridge area. We managed to squeeze in a little before closing. Loved the ribs! However, if you're taking anything "fried" home with you, it will probably get soggy so keep that in mind. They have nearly every type of meat and side you'd expect or hope for at a BBQ place. Food was not good at all. Pulled pork was served lukewarm and tasted like it was several days old. Majority of the pork was extremely chewy and dry like it had been reheated while the other pieces were pure fat. Stopped in for a quick lunch. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Good value great taste. Good variety of sauces available. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was the fries were a little soggy. But the did have great taste. Service was great even though the had a big lunch crowd. I feel like this is absolutely going to be the "outcast" review. Obviously Carroll's BBQ has been doing something right over the years. There is a bunch of great reviews and the only reason we decided to visit here while in Blueridge. Visiting around 630 on a Thursday evening. It wasnt very crowded and we were sat right away. Everyone was very nice. Bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of parking available. We started with some fried pickles. They are served with ranch dressing and you get a large portion. Between the two of us we had ribs, brisket, pork, and sausage. Everything but the sausage was spicy. Obviously cooked with some sort of heat. Now this is where the crazy part comes in... BEFORE the food was even served, I mentioned to my girlfriend that I smelled something that smelled like lighter fluid. Sure enough, when the food showed up, there was a very strong taste of light fluid. The only thing I can think of is that the fire the meat was smoked in was started with a large amount of lighter fluid. I have made that mistake before when using my big green egg. We did not mention to the staff because this would be our only time here in town and just wanted to chalk it up as a loss. Again, everything else was fine. read more

We ordered a rack of ribs to go. I picked them up, they were hot and ready with a choice of sauces to go. The rub on the ribs really didn't need sauces, but it was still a nice add. Hubs an I had the combination with ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. Ribs were the unanimous favorite although the brisket was pretty good. We were divided on the pulled pork. Hubs thought it lacked smokiness. Mac and cheese is super creamy. Baked beans were declared fine. Sweet potato fries were very nicely crispy. Brunswick stew got mixed reviews from the table. We tried 3 kinds of sauces: wild and sweet, hot and spicy, and Georgia vinegar. Mild and sweet was the winner. Not overly sweet and there is a nice peppery ending on it. Place is large open area, clean and bright. Service was quick. Overall a worthy addition to the N. GA. barbecue scene. read more

Average at best, pricey but what restaurants aren't these days. I appreciate good solid barbecue, without the sauce so you can taste the smoke, the meat and tenderness. You can eat a shoe with enough bbq sauce. They serve theirs without sauce which I appreciated, I got the pulled pork sandwich with two sides... fries and Brunswick stew. Wife got pulled pork and smoked wings... price was 29 bucks and change. Service was good, food was average, some microwave heating on the meat. I enjoyed their Christian music and faith based attitude... try it ! It's worth your shot at a opinion which is that the food, quality, quantity and taste is worth it. This place came highly recommended by the locals and now we know exactly why! The food was delicious and the service was spot on! You stand in line to order but they bring you your food and come around to frequently to check on you. The meats: We got the combo plate (ribs, brisket & turkey) + smoked wing appetizer so that we had a chance to sample multiple meats in case we didn't really like one. Super smart decision but really silly reasoning because ALL the meats were delicious! I'm not really fond of turkey because it's sometimes dry and lacking seasoning but THIS TURKEY was soooo juicy and flavorful. The ribs were good, competition style ribs - no rub/seasoning just smoked, delicious pork! The sides: We got double mac and cheese and each meal comes with a roll and honey butter. We typically like our mac and cheese baked, but their creamy mac and cheese paired well with the meat! The sauces: They also have multiple sauces to choose from at each table. This place sits in a shopping center but don't let that fool you- it was so good! Their sweet bbq sauce is delicious along with their smoked chicken, brisket, beans, and Mac and cheese. They give you a good plate/selection of sides (even though you pay extra for the good ones), but the portion of the meats you get is on the smaller side, maybe around 1/4 or 1/3 of a pound?
