Right now, since it's September, they already have all the fall essentials: pumpkins, pumpkin sugar cookie dough, pumpkin brioche twist, pumpkin body butter (my fave), those little cinnamon-scented brooms, and so many cozy seasonal favorites. I love that they stay ahead of the season! The produce is always fresh and high quality, they still had those amazing cotton candy grapes that are so sweet and delicious. The wine selection is another huge plus, you really can't beat picking up a bottle for $4 or $5 that actually tastes great. The employees are always friendly and helpful, which makes shopping here even better. Whenever I'm in Redding, I love stopping by this Trader Joe's. Between the great products, unbeatable prices, and seasonal finds, it never disappoints.

I love their jalepeno poppers, although they are not jalepenos... they use LARGE Anaheim (I think) chilies. It is stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in thick bacon. I pair this with a sweet jelly for savory flavors. The seasoned chicken is flavorful and not too salty. It is well marinated. I recommend visiting this store.

They have a nice selection of unusual stuff, like different marinated chicken skewers to BBQ and big steaks on display. Lots of fresh fish as well. Then there are the ready made sandwiches for just $4.99! That's a killer price these days for a sandwich, but then I see they have made to order sandwiches for the same price! This way you get to have it made just the way you want, no mayo or lots of mayo, mustard or lettuce or tomato on of off. You just fill out a little order slip at the deli counter and they'll make it. At Placer Heights the salad bar is always fresh and has a dedicated attendant who also freshen the soups and cleans and stocks the bar. I've also seen (who appears to be) an upper manager who will periodically do spot checks with thermometers to ensure quality control. Wow! Very impressed! The deli is great. Meats and cheeses are always fresh. Produce is fresh and bread is fresh. Best deal in town for a sandwich and a soda! Produce rocks. Everything is fresh and presents well. But by far, the single main draw is the staff. Outstanding customer service professionals from the store manager to the Supervisors and from the head clerk to the grocery clerks and baggers. They literally added a ton of self-checkout machines only to rip them all out 2-3 years after installation because they were losing so much money and product. So now instead: you have to wait sometimes up to 20/30 minutes in register lines because of staffing problems or not enough checkstands open. I've seen 4-5 pigeons in the building in the 3 years I've gone to this particular location. At first it was cute, but then you realize it's a sign for how poor this place operates. Go south 15 minutes down the freeway? You'll be in the Anderson Walmart. Night-and-day experience on how tidy and solid it feels in contrast to this junker. It's Walmart, I get it. But by Walmart standards, this place is the pits.
