I spent thousands of dollars on new carpet, and the installation has been incredibly disappointing. Within just 5 months, the corners of the stairs began fraying, bald spots are appearing, and areas not secured under the floor trim are unraveling. To make matters worse, the wall trim in the room was chipped and damaged during installation. I reached out in early March 2025, and a manager came to inspect the issues. He acknowledged the problems and said someone would return to fix them. That was over two months ago- despite follow-up messages, I've received no response. I've been left with visibly damaged carpet and zero accountability. I feel completely taken advantage of, and the end result looks cheap and unfinished. read more

That I got from Carpet Liquidator Their bid was $1500 for the carpet for 4 bedrooms And the bid for the laminate was $2000 for living room kitchen hallway I called Carpet Liquidator's Back After buying the carpet and the padding from them and asked them if they could come out and do a second bid for me And they bided me half of the amount of these so called friends of friends SMH They came out the next day measured, Then came out the following day on a Sunday did my carpet then Monday did my flooring beyond happy with their work and prices Thank you so much. This is between 3 and 4 stars, and really tough because the customer service is good. Overall our experience here has been good. Having carpet installed from here in particular is a good value. We own a couple of rental properties, so it's great to be able to get cheap carpet from here. I'm not sure I would use this place for my personal home flooring needs, or something very high end. I would not necessarily go here for luxury vinyl plank. For three reasons: the luxury vinyl plank sold here is pretty much the same price (if not more expensive) than Home Depot AND Home Depot has a much better return policy; it's very difficult to find transition strips here that match the LVP flooring they sell. With that said..we had luxury vinyl plank installed in our rental. We picked out the pattern in the store (and paid up front), but the installation guy brought the wrong flooring that we did not choose nor pick out. The pattern didn't match, but it's a rental and we don't care that much, but I don't know if I overpaid or not. Second issue, different project: I bought some luxury vinyl plank flooring to re-do a bathroom floor. Construction delays pushed the installation of the flooring past the 30-day return mark. I over budgeted for flooring, and in addition to a partially used open box I will keep for repairs in the future, I also ended up with an entire unopened box. I absolutely do not need this much extra flooring and CL has a strict 30-day return policy. Which really makes no sense, especially in an industry like construction which notoriously runs behind. They also did not sell transition strips that match this flooring. I had to try and match at Home Depot. I got close, but it's not perfect. TLDR: come to CL for inexpensive but decent carpet. Go to Home Depot for luxury vinyl plank flooring for better selection, better matching transition strips, and MUCH better return policy. read more

I just purchased a house where the master bedroom smelled like dog urine. I only had 2 days to get it replaced before moving in. I went in where Nia B helped me get carpet and good padding. I am an unhappy customer.My contractor ordered 958 square feet of luxury vinyl from 1 plank at their store from their display. I had picked out which plank I liked best. "Jason" at carpet liquidators stands behind the "miss matched product" I received stating "unless you specify your vinyl order needs to all be from the same lot or the same batch run, they will fill the order from different lots or batches" Jason goes on to say "how would we know it is all going into same room?" Seriously? Unless they care to re- address this issue, I am shopping elsewhere. Since receiving a mix n match order, I have contacted other stores and no one agrees that a customer needs to "specify the planks all need to match" if you order 958 Sq ft of same plank it should be same plank same color same batch same run. read more

Carpet Liquidators has multiple locations and I wasn't sure if specific locations serve specific areas, but I contacted the Tacoma location to check out the showroom. I wasn't keen on driving 30 miles to Seattle if I could avoid it. At first glance it looked like it might be struggling for customers, but maybe people just don't know about it. And that's a good thing. The prices here are excellent, and they even offer a contracted installation service if you want to have it done professionally. The install fee was reasonable. I wasn't sure about the quality of the work, not having used the company before, so I just did the master bathroom. There was a carpet/vinyl combination that looked terrible, and the previous owners had some water damage because the shower isn't installed tightly enough (still isn't). Vlad came out, took a quick estimate, and I got a call with the quote. Approved the work and provided the financing information. Vlad came back out within two days with an assistant and 5 hours later, I've got a much better looking floor. He was on time and on schedule. They never stopped working. So why only 4 stars? Minor things. They may not bother you. First, they left the front door wide open twice despite me asking them to close it and just leave it unlocked. Two flies got in and I had to kill them. Preventable. Second, they left sawdust on the driveway. This one is weird, because they went through great pains to clean up the actual work area and even brushed through the carpet in the master bedroom doorway. It didn't make sense for them to miss something like that. Third, they were almost about to take off with the remainder of the flooring (which is owned by the customer. You buy the entire roll). I had to remind them that it is supposed to be left with me, I plan on using the rest in the other two bathrooms eventually. Fourth, considering they redid my bathroom, I would have assumed that if they needed to use the bathroom, they'd just use it in that bathroom before starting work (the toilet needed to be lifted temporarily). Instead, they had to use my hallway bathroom. Again, these are mostly minor things, but I point them out, and collectively, I had to dock a star. Please don't let it influence your consideration of this company; it was a great experience overall and I fully intend to use them again. In fact, I asked Vlad to measure out my stairs, upstairs hallway and master bedroom for laminate, which is what I'll likely do next. read more

Good product, extremely poor installation. I was charged for removing / replacing the baseboards. They did not and instead tucked the flooring and carpeting in underneath. Some areas are not quite up to the corners. They dented and scraped up the walls which I had to repair and re-texture. They reused the old carpet tack strips, which some were deteriorated to where the tacks were missing. Called them several times. E-mailed them. Finally the manager got a hold of me but has yet to do anything in the last six weeks. Now, the disputed partial credit card charges just gave my credit score a hit of 40 points. I have another, larger home to get new flooring in. These guys will NEVER get any more of my work. Be warned. They use sub-par labor. read more

We replaced our 13 year old carpet earlier this year, and after a bit of shopping around ended up here. Jeff was great to work with, no pressure and full of information. We went back and forth several times, but ended up getting Smart Strand Silk. It cost a little more that we had planned on spending, but we're (so far) really happy with it. After having a hard time with other carpet stores, we stopped by Carpet Liquidators, Tacoma and were immediately greeted by Jeff, who was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable and showed us some carpet that my wife loved. It was a no-hassle, no-BS experience with more than fair prices including free install. And the installation was one of the best parts. Vlad and Paul showed up on time, after phoning me several times on the way to keep me updated. They were the most professional, friendly, polite workers we've had in a long time, with an attitude that nothing other than perfection was acceptable. The installation was perfect! They were there about 3 hours to remove and dispose of all our old carpet, and measure, cut and install the new padding and carpet in 4 rooms. They were absolutely perfectionists and the installation quality shows their artwork. The final product is something we are very proud of. All we needed was the carpet, no install, and they were just as happy to work with us as if we were hiring the install from them, no discrimination, unlike a few other shops we had visited who basically wasted our time pretending they had to "special order" the under pad we preferred. Had an excellent experience with Carpet Liquidators today. We have a small project going on, needed some remnant carpet. A friend recommended trying this place, and I couldn't be happier that we did. We didn't need an install, just the carpet, and most places really don't want to deal with you for small project pieces. There were only two people on site, both friendly, asked us a few questions about the project and got us exactly what we needed. This was a tiny insignificant project and they helped us get everything squared away and quickly, which tells me this is the company we will be back to when we need a bigger project/install. EDIT: DO NOT GO HERE. I repeat DO NOT. Physically walked in to give them a second chance thinking in person they might be more helpful. The sales guy didn't bother to introduce himself or come out from behind the desk to help me even though he could clearly see I might have needed assistance seeing as how I was carrying a car seat and toddler. Instead gestured to the carpet saying "feel free to look around" when I told him I did t know what I was looking for. Didn't ask about the project, didn't ask about the traffic in the area. And they weren't even the cheapest quote I've gotten. Complete and utter jackass! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS. I typically don't review until after I have experienced a service but this is an exception. I was fairly disappointed in my first call because the sales gal Michelle didn't really ask about the project I had in mind or any details about why I needed carpet. I got the nickel and dime break down over every piece of product and a really hard sell to come down and pick and measure my carpet and also a hard push to get the more expensive carpets without asking if I was on a budget. Any time I tried to explain what I was looking for or what kind of room I was looking to do, Michelle just talked over me with the sales pitch. I just didn't feel like she honestly wanted to help, I felt like she really wanted to make a sale without knowing what she was selling or who she was selling to. I'm a stay at home mom with two babies I really don't have the time or opportunity to jaunt around going to a carpet store. The first call to a business should make you want to do business, not want to hang up and seek someone else. 1 Star for answering my ballpark $$ question, and 1 star for at least telling me what all the $$ included. Great services from Mike the sales man. Also Was full of recommendations and advise. Tom (another employee whoi rolled my carpet and put it in my track gave be advise on how far to place my tack stipe from the walls. Very Very good service. Now, the next day I started laying the pad and found that the pad was about 4/5 feet too short, the Salesman said I should have 3 feet left... Called the sales man right away and he gave us 6 feel of the same pad for Free and said this was his mistake. Now I unrolled the carpet and found 3 holes in it. I was going to just get come carpet tape but my wife wanted them to be aware of this and she figured that we paid $250 for the carpet (which was on sale) it should not have holes in it. She called and it was closing time , they still answered the phone, and said that they need to ask their installs a question regarding this and will call us back the next day around 11am. The next day they call before 11am and said that they want to replace the carpet for free and explained that this should not have happened. I explained that there was no way that I can roll up the carpet (21 feet long) and place it back in my truck and bring it back to store. Jeff and Tom said that they will deliver us a new 21 foot section of carpet to out house and pick up the one with the hole for FREE... The next day they were out and swapped the carpet for Free.... great customer service guys. We plan to replace out kids carpet later this year or next and we are not going anywhere else than Carpet Liquidators of Tacoma and we will recommend you guys to all our family and friends. I am very conservative with handing out 5 Star reviews, but when they are earned like this one is, I want everyone to know about it. My wife and I just bought our first house. It's exciting! In this process of trying to get the house to where we want it I made the mistake of hiring a private contractor to do our lower level laminate planks. It was my first mistake because I spent double what I should have. After whining on Facebook, multiple people recommended Carpet Liquidators for the carpeting on our entire 2nd level. So I called them. I had the opportunity to deal with Mike V, who is the GM of all the stores. He put me in touch with Jason out of Tacoma. Jason immediately scheduled for my home to get measured. This is highly important because unlike other stores, the installer is the one who actually comes out to measure. In our case, Paul came out to measure and sent the measurements in to Jason. My wife and I then went in to choose our carpet and we met with John, who was incredibly knowledgeable and actually matched us with a carpet that he felt would be more than sufficient for our highly trafficked areas. A quote was then sent to us the next morning via email and all of the charges were listed. Everything was spelled out in black ink and there were no hidden or questionable fees. Fast forward a few days, I pulled up to our new home on my lunch break to check on Paul and his progress. He had already pulled up the old carpet and padding. He had them perfectly rolled up and laying in front of our garage for removal. He was not present as he was on his lunch break too. Our pink padding (amazingly luxurious) was already installed and I was able to see just how much of a perfectionist Paul was with his work. Everything was perfectly cut and prepped for carpet. The benefit of Paul having measured is that the carpet was already cut to the room size and rolled up/placed in each room. I left Paul a note thanking him for his hard work and asked him to keep the doors off the hinges as I would be painting them in a few days. I also asked him to leave any left over carpet so I could cover the stairs in my garage. I locked up and left. I stopped in the next morning before work and was amazed at how beautiful our carpet looked. Everything was perfectly installed and he even fixed a few steps on our stairs that were slightly loose that I forgot to address before install. He had vacuumed the floors so they had perfect lines. There were no tools left behind and there was no trash. He left the doors off the hinges as requested and he left a few small rolls of carpet perfectly stacked for me. I truly am impressed with Carpet Liquidators and ask you all to give them a chance. Based on our experience we will be recommending them to everyone we know that needs their services. I believe that people get sucked in to the insane deals posted all over the internet and websites that they feel everything should be free, yet done to their specifications. You get what you pay for. Carpet and padding is everything as it's your house we are talking about. It's what we live on (literally). I feel we got a great deal and feel you will too. Just relax a little and allow the carpet specialists to do what they do best. If you are worried about something like baseboards being too low or too high, mention it to them so there are no surprise costs. How will they know your concerns if you don't speak up? This is the worst company I have ever worked with. We chose Carpet Liquidators based on positive reviews from a friend. The process of choosing a carpet was simple enough and the manager was very helpful to that point. They charged a $45 fee to come out and estimate the square footage in the area that we wanted carpet. This would have been a perfect time to tell us about our baseboards (more to come on that later). The installers came out and almost immediately noticed that the baseboards in our home are sized to a thicker carpet - so with our choice of a flatter carpet, there will be a gap between the carpet and the baseboards. The installer recommended and was adamant that we choose a new carpet. We asked about charges and he replied, "There is no charge for a carpet, just call the store manager and choose a new one." The installers immediately left while we were trying to get into contact with the manager. After getting on the phone with the manager, he told us that there is a 30% restocking fee (that would amount to about $500 for us). When we told him that the installer had just told us that there would be no charge, the manager replied with, "Well, he's just the installer. He doesn't know." He then went on to say that, "We expect our customers to know what type of carpet that they need." Look, if I knew about carpet, why would I be paying your company to install it? Why didn't your company notify us when we paid $45 for you to come out and estimate? He then recommended that WE call the installer back since didn't want to pay a restocking fee (why didn't the store call back THEIR installer?). The installer was already at a different job site and said that he would try to come back - he didn't. We then had to call the store the next day (why didn't they call? Oh right, because they already had our money and now they have no incentive to try to work with us) to reschedule. The next available slot was not for another 2 weeks. Having our carpet ripped out and living like that for 2 weeks was an absolute nightmare. And that's how I'll wrap up how working with Carpet Liquidators in Tacoma, WA is: a nightmare. read more

I bought a carpet remnant and came back to return it within 48 hours. They said I couldn't return it and I said it says right here on the invoice I can return it within 48 hours. They said they don't usually take remnant returns. It says right on the invoice you can return remnants. It was never unwrapped from the plastic. They were very rude and finally agreed to let me return it. It was only an 80 dollar sale. Very poor customer service and acted very inconvenienced and put out that I wanted to return the carpet. I went to Floor Trader, they were more professional and have great product selection and great customer service. I will never shop at Carpet Liquidators again. read more

This morning I walked in at around 11a.m. when I first opened the door know one could be found, i peaked around the corner and at the first desk was a man that simply said how can I help you without taking his eyes away from his computer or hand of his mouse. This buying experience has not gone well. I paid to have them come out and measure because they recommended this. I took measurements of the rooms. 1 room measured 14×10 and the other 13×10. For a total of 272 sq. Foot. They gave me a measurement of 388 sq ft. Which is a bold face lie. I told the sales man Nathan this. He settled out for 284. That would of cost over $400 more than it needed to cost. Got me to thinking, so i looked up the job they did last year and they overcharged me the same way. Either sokmeone can not use a measure tape or carpet liquidators does this purposely. I have been waiting for this entire week for a copy of my stair and hall bid. I have called and left messages. I dont think they will give me what i paid for. Because they overcharged for the stairs and hall. They need to refund the $45 charge or give me that bogus bid. However, the guys did a great job installing the floor. I have given this place high recommendation for friends and Family-- i can no longer do this anymore.
