Ultimately we went with Al and CS Floors, supporting local business and the personal touch were appealing to us. He offered us a deal on some carpet that met our needs and we didn't have to wait - they had it in stock and were able to install the carpet within a week. The owner Al even volunteered to shore up some other flooring issues around our home and even sorted out the threshold of one of our doors. The carpet installation crew was fast, personable, and professional. They carpeted our entire house in two days and cleaned up/vacuumed, leaving the place immaculate. We later had an issue with some carpet staying down, Al sent the crew back out no questions asked to remedy any issues. I would highly recommend talking to Al at CS Floors, they took care of us and we would not hesitate to use them again!

The floor is super tight as in no squeaking when I walk on it as it's a floating floor. They helped me to avoid repainting my walls by suggesting using 1/4 inch plywood to help raise floors so when he reinstalled baseboards they were high enough to avoid full paint. I just had to do some touch-up in a couple areas. Super happy with the job they did! Also Slovak the installer did a great job on cleanup after each day of all the sawdust in my garage and driveway from cutting the floor pieces! Bob took the time to come see our space and even brought the installer through to make sure they had the appropriate amount of prep time. The prep was able to begin within a few days of the deposit. When the installer Norm arrived and began working on the basement slab, he noticed that the recent self-leveling concrete our small GC installed was not bonded correctly to the underlying slab. The concrete sounded hollow when he tested it with a hammer. Norm was diligent about testing the other concrete areas of the apartment and was able to identify a number of concerning locations. Ultimately we had to tear out the failed self-level and repour it with proper bonding. It took multiple days of grueling work from Norm to tear out the old material and get back to concrete that was stable enough to bond to. Norm was very precise in his work and wanted to make sure his work was solid and the flooring would look good at the end. Our basement slab was surprisingly uneven and Norm went above and beyond to make sure the installation was well done. He even removed the front door to shave the bottom down so the door would not scrape on the new floors. Thank you so much Norm and the Abbey Carpet team, we would have been in a terrible spot if you had not been so dedicated and professional.

There has been a change in ownership which has caused this to happen. We ordered carpet that day, about $5K of it, but were given no dates. They said they would contact us when it was ready. Odd, but understandable during these times. The carpet came a few weeks later and we started booking dates for installation. Dates were missed, excuses made over 4 times and the wife who is self-employed missed a bunch of work waiting on installers that never came. This last over a month and a half, finally after arguing constantly with Abby, the carpet was installed. But, only to find that they did not install the correct padding. I could see the wrong color pad from where we removed the forced air vents. Another excuse and back to trying to reschedule installation. I was actually told by someone from Abby, name obviously not given for a reason, that they knew they did not have the correct padding, but we were so mad that they were going to install what they had. They did not think I would check after all of this. The wife talked to the owner and they agreed on paying of the carpet and installation on the stairs, another 2K and we would pay for the padding. About $200. We got a bill shortly before the carpet was installed on the stairs and it included the carpet for the stairs. We called her and she said she never said she would pay for the carpet, but only the padding. We refused to pay until this was remedied, but she would not budge. Even though we have emails stating the opposite. She said that was a misunderstanding. Anyhow, we contacted our friend who is an attorney and she said it was not worth the time or money. I hate giving bad reviews, but this place is bad. Go to another location or use someone else; they are independently owned, we found this out when we tried to contact the owner. Buyer beware!

(See photos) The unfortunate installation took place while I had to be in my home office. The installer never verified with me prior to cutting the carpet- When I did have a chance to check on the work, I noticed that it looked backwards and asked him if he could spin it around. He assured me that it was how the light was coming in the window and that after they vacuum it- It will be fine . I asked if he was sure and again was reassured by Floor Traitor's referred "professional" that it would be fine. Not knowing that the carpet had already been cut and that he was unable to spin it around to face the correct direction- Needless to say I was completely dissatisfied with the end result- And in seeking out resolution from Floor Traitor, their only offer for amends was to cover installation for the same carpet if we ordered it again! Wow. A whopping $700.00 discount for us to re-purchase the same amount and kind of carpet at 5,000+! I will NEVER use this company and HIGHLY recommend that you go somewhere else too. Family run or not. I bet their relatives would be disappointed - Sadly we wanted to support a local business with our purchase and in the end we did. What an absolute mistake that turned out to be for us! And just so you all know, I did send an email to them before posting this here. Pros: The end product is beautiful! They do a gorgeous job, are extremely flexible with busy working schedules like mine, and the price point is extremely reasonable for the quality of product (I got 5 quotes from all the major places). I also dealt with the owner as all other reviews say you will which is nice. It truly is a small family business. Cons: I don't know if you'd call this a con but is worth mentioning. This is a VERY small company. A family business. I prefer supporting a family business but I also expected a "team" to come lay my plank flooring and only one person came alone and was here until 8pm- almost a 12 hour day! He did a perfect job. The quality is unmatched and I am very pleased. Also, there were a couple instances of running late and we had to call them to check up - it would have been nice if we would have gotten a call instead of us having to reach out. Over all I am extremely pleased with their company and would recommend them to anyone.

We called Blair and Son Flooring Co (on the recommendation of a friend who has used them), and another company for pricing, accepting the quote from Blair. 70+ years in the business was a huge selling point! We absolutely couldn't be happier with their work. Johnny and his team were so easy to work with--responding immediately to any questions we had. Not only did they repair the damage caused by the leak, they also repaired a terrible cut, visible in a main traffic area, made by the original flooring company (who never returned my calls concerning the issue). Since we needed to move all furniture in the affected rooms (kitchen/livingroom), and were planning to replace carpeting in bedrooms that abutted the hardwood, we decided to have them install oak floors to match the existing. The new floors are beautiful, and no one would ever guess they hadn't always been hardwood. So happy Blair and Son Flooring was recommended to us!

Carpet was not properly attached to tack strip in several areas, one seam at entrance to bedroom came loose causing me to trip. Owner has not responded to numerous requests over the past several months to finish the installation and refuses to honor the warranty. The countertops have nicks in the base strip and I've been told to repair it myself. As a senior living alone, I find this company's business practices to be disheartening and unacceptable. I have filed a complaint with the BBB against Hull Floor Company but I learned today that the company has not responded.

I gave 4/5 stars because the bid was frustrating to make sense of for a lay person to sort and make decisions on a short timeline, but the finished work we're very happy with.
