Perfect in every way. Our new carpet is gorgeous and was less expensive than the two other places we called for bids. Also more convenient. Steve St. Denny, the owner, came to our house with samples. This was much easier than the schlepping back and forth we did with the other two places we checked out. I hate to say it's come to this, but I was actually shocked that everything went exactly as planned. It just plain never works this way anymore - someone's late, missing a part, charging more... Not Carpet Connection. I was thrilled that our carpet was installed exactly when they said it would be for exactly what they said it would cost and the installation was perfect. Having been disappointed before I asked who would be installing and how long they had been working for Carpet Connection. Steve said, "Oh I have the new guy coming, he's only been with us for 15 years." :-) So! What we have here is carpet that's less expensive (I compared apples to apples - exact same carpet), 100% reliable company and perfect installation. I should note that we did 4 rooms, stairs and a long hall - I don't think this would be the best place to go if you just have one room. read more

Hands down the best service for replacing carpet. I'm a resident manager in San Francisco and we use Carpet Connection for everyone of our jobs. They do a phenomenal job. We had a really hard case a few months ago where the carpet was 30+ yrs old, the tenant was demanding and very short window to get all the work done. Carpet Steve stepped up and handled the situation like I've never seen. Knowing he only had one shot to get this right in the allotted time he brought every item they use for worst case scenario to make sure the job was done on time and right. He was so patient and personally stayed there the entire job knowing the complication of the situation. Once the job was done he and his crew moved everything back onto the carpet. Never complaining and saying this is out of scope. On his way out the door the tenant stopped him asked if he could look at her drapes. They were broken. Well this is a skill he has and he ended up going to the hardware store and repairing her blinds that very same day. This is a company that goes far beyond your carpet. If he sees an issue he will bring it up to make sure it gets taken care off. I wish all of the vendors we use could have the same quality and skill as do those at Carpet Connection. read more

if you are prepared to wait indefinitely for the installation -- and it may never happen -- call steve. nice guy, but i suspect he's not really interested in small jobs. my sense is he's overrun with work and doesn't know how to organize his time or commitments (one-man operation), so you have to be VERY patient. his estimate was lower than several others, but he doesn't follow up and ultimately couldn't fulfill his commitment. and worse, he blamed everything on us. read more
