Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the work and the customer service provided by Amir. The carpet and waterproof vinyl installations both went smoothly. The crew worked efficiently and finished the jobs in a couple of days. The hardwood flooring project took a frustrating turn, but Amir ultimately resolved it to our satisfaction. The crew installed the hardwood in summer 2023 and shortly afterwards much of it shrunk and developed creaking. After a lot of back and forth with Amir and the manufacturer, Renaissance replaced the problem areas. My wife and I appreciated Amir's professionalism and integrity. Our townhouse's flooring is now so beautiful thanks to Renaissance!

Muhammad and the rest at Nations Carpet and Rug in Olney have been providing my family and my clients with carpet and flooring for over a decade. Their workmanship is outstanding, their prices competitive, and they get the job done on schedule. I have, and will continue to always recommend Nations Carpet and Rug first and foremost.

I had a horrible experience with Nations Carpet when I had wood flooring and carpeting put in my…read morehome. There was no issue with the carpeting, but the hardwood flooring had significant areas of bouncy/squishy boards and abnormal gaps. I wasn't happy about it, but I understand that things happen. What wasn't acceptable, however, was the painstaking efforts required to get Nations Carpet to correct the problems. Over the course of five months, I had to constantly call and chase people down to make appointments to get this fixed. Several times the person from Nations would call last-minute to cancel appointments. On two occasions, he missed the appointment and didn't bother to call. When a worker would come out, he would try different things and still would be unable to fix the problems with the flooring. Each time, I was given a different excuse/diagnosis: at one point I was told the wood was defective and it was the fault of the manufacturer (not Nations), another time I was told there was a problem with the subfloors, other times I was told I was sold the wrong wood for the floor I had (although the worker denied saying this when I mentioned this to the Nations Carpet manager), and one time the worker acknowledged that the problem was an installation failure by Nations (although he again retracted this statement when I brought it up to the owner). Over and over and over again for 5 months. The two main guys I was dealing with were shady and belong on a used-car lot. The owner seemed sympathetic and she said all the right things, but after months with no resolution I began to see that I was getting played, and they were just hoping I would give up and go away. Only when I started threatening legal action did they finally start consistently calling me back and honoring their appointments. They were able to fix some areas of the floor, but not all. They eventually advised that I get parts of the floor redone (although they still wouldn't take any responsibility) and suggested I pay for half the job. At this point I had lost all confidence in them to make things right, so I gave up after they agreed to cut me a small check to cover damage they did to my custom closet cabinets during their original installation. Nations Carpet used to be highly regarded in Montgomery County, but they are clearly going downhill. They don't even operate out of a store anymore, but rather through online sales. They laid off some of their staff, and the two shady guys who I had the misfortune of dealing with over the course of 5 months worked day jobs with other companies. This has devolved into a loser operation, and I would advise anyone to not do business with them.

We want to compliment and thank Aladdin Carpet and Floors of Rockville for the outstanding job performed for us in 2023 in recarpeting a substantial part of our four-floor condominium building. In particular, we would like to commend David Naghibi, Aladdin's sales manager, who met and communicated with our planning committee numerous times, for his professionalism and courtesies extended to us in overseeing and supervising the installation of the carpet in our condominium building. The large size of the project required Mr. Naghibi to come out several times to meet with the members of our redesign committee, and to work with us in arriving at a suitable contract. His courteous and patient demeanor, together with his knowledge and skill in educating us on various carpet choices, were very much appreciated. In the summer of 2023, Aladdin's installation crew arrived as scheduled and worked efficiently and professionally over a five-day period. They carefully inspected and, if needed, repaired the subfloor prior to laying the carpet, with a minium of disruption to residents. The crew was also extremely attentive to seamlessly match the wavy design of the carpet throughout our hallways. The project was completed on time and to the full satisfaction of the Board of Directors. To date, the carpet looks as good as the date is was laid, and there have been no complaints. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend the services of David Naghibi and Aladdin Carpet and Floors of Rockville.

Carpet was supposed to go all the way to the pillar shown in the picture. Jacob explained that due to where the laminate was installed, they were able to get very close to the pillar, roughly 1 inch away. We agreed to this and a quote was received and approved. When the installers arrived, I explained to them everything as I explained to Jacob, including installation up to the pillar. They asked if they were doing the stairs too, and I said no. This should have been the first red flag of miscommunication. When the work was done, I noticed that the carpet did not reach the pillar as we have discussed. It was roughly 2 vinyl planks away (over a foot away!). The installers told them Jacob only told them 17ft installation, not to the pillar. Which was odd, since I specifically told the installers that it should have gone up to the pillar. If there were some confusion, why did they not ask me about it? At this point, it was too late to fix. Jacob arrived and confirmed it as supposed to go the pillar, and further confirmed that it was too late to do anything. By failing to remove all the vinyl planks up towards the pillar, this also caused the end of the carpet to not be able to be tucked under the laminate. Now there is an area of the carpet that sticks out as well, also shown in the picture. Finally, our basement has a step down area. By removing the laminate, it exposed a gap in my baseboard. I would have hoped that the installers would have asked us how to proceed, rather than just ignoring it and proceeding. So now I have more imperfections due to the carpet installation. At the end of the day, the carpet was mostly installed as we requested. Just wished that the communication would have been better. Now I am stuck with imperfections in my basement. The ironic part is, the leftover roll of carpet they provided me would have been enough to cover the area they failed to install.

We figured out what carpet we wanted, and then started shopping around for the lowest price. We tried Costco's contractor. We tried Empire. We tried Luna. We tried Lowe's. We tried Home Depot. And then we tried 111Carpets. BINGO!!! Here are the benefits: *They are primarily a shop-at-home service, but they do have a showroom open by appointment. Which means, you can shop however YOU prefer. (We opted for the in-home, similar to Empire or Luna.) *There is absolutely NO pressure to sign a contract on the spot (unlike with Empire or Luna). * They listen to the customer. The gentleman who came to our home was incredibly knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted, and didn't try to persuade us that we wanted anything other than what we told him we wanted. *NO SUBCONTRACTORS. *No crazy waits while your carpet gets ordered like with Lowes or Home Depot, or many of the other smaller shops. *Added benefit of having a local company to call in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong. Having local service is SO important. 111Carpet also has an A+ from the BBB. *They were able to beat the lowest price we had gotten. If I EVER need flooring ever again, regardless of how big or small, I will only make one phone call. To 111Carpets.
