I have had my share of different types of massages all over North America. Mostly for the relief of tight neck and stiff lower back muscles, and because it just puts me in a positive, peaceful, relaxed state of mind. I rarely leave reviews, but for Miss Anderson and her salon Carpe Diem Massage here in Memphis, it is much deserved. I was feeling rather stressed from the Holidays, work, family, etc. and really needed to relax and unwind. Looking throughout the various salons online, my gut told me to book at Carpe Diem Massage and I'm so very glad I did. Upon meeting Neysa Anderson in her beautiful salon, I was made to feel very welcome and I knew I was in good hands. The atmosphere, dimly lit with candles, was calming and the relaxing massage from Neysa that followed was enough to send me a million miles away from stresses of everyday life. Booking a treatment through Miss Anderson's Carpe Diem salon, was very smooth, and communication was very swift and clear. I tried the Regular VIP treatment package #3, which started with a swedish style massage, followed by some additional treatments that I chose, including hot stone therapy and use of a deep tissue machine. The last part of my chosen package concluded with an amazing sugar scrub table massage. My rough skin was soft for days afterwards! Time just flies during such a treatment. It was extremely relaxing to such a point, that I was almost sleeping. After the treatment I was allowed to just relax a bit and slowly come back to reality at my own pace. (Next time, I will be sure to add an additional half hour to my session). Miss Anderson is professional, very customer-oriented, and clearly cares for the experience her customers have. Her Carpe Diem salon is beautifully appointed and has such a nice relaxing vibe to it. I really felt like I received the VIP treatment here and look forward to my return. I attempted to book a couples massage for $300 as advertised by the website. I immediately was prompted by the website to check my email to confirm that my reservation was accepted. I never received this e-mail. I received a text saying that the massage was $320. When I called the business to clarify, I was prompted to only text. When I texted the owner to clarify the price she said that the price was a misprint but was unclear if the price on the website was a misprint or the price quoted to me via text. The owner became increasingly rude over text and the interaction was extremely uncomfortable as a customer simply trying to book a relaxing couples massage and clarify some things. Eventually I said: "Your interactions have been extremely unprofessional" The response from the owner was " You are now blocked. You will need to refrain from contacting this business again. You obviously are crazy. This business does not deal with crazy people. Have a good day." This owner's poor website design, and hostile communication are frankly quite concerning for someone who was simply trying to make some clarifications before a relaxing couples massage. My appointment has already been paid for but I will not be going. I will gladly eat the cost and have made another appointment somewhere else. Owner is extremely rude and has no patience. You make a massage appointment to relax but the process is anything but that! You can't be late however you can't be early. I can't believe that I was treated so rudely at a place that I was supposed to be going to for relaxation! Booking was a hassel within it self. With constant threats of your appointment being canceled and you're not getting your money back becuse u didnt respond to several messages at a certain time was very strange to me. Once I got off the elevator I could hear NYESHA ANDERSON yelling and cursing about her last paying customers as I was walking to her door. Her instructions said to call once you are in the parking lot and I did and no one picked up. As I was walking up I sent her an email saying I called the number and no one picked up. I heard her inside cursing and saying I never called. I call again because her instructions says to call. When she answered I said I was here and she said to come up. (I was already up) She then opens the door and yells. No, no, no get away from my door go back to your car. You can't be here! I asked what's the problem? And she said the problem is you are standing here and you making it a safety issue for people who may be in the hallway or leaving. Then she said I gave you clear instructions. I told her that her instructions wasn't clear because you have several typos in it making it very hard to fully understand you. She started to yell again. I asked her could she please lower her voice she doesn't have to yell at me. She said I can yell as loud as I want. My friend had to step in and calm the situation. She lied and said her instructions said several things that it did not say and when we pulled it up to show her that her instructions did not say that. She refused to listen and continue to yell. But we couldn't get a refund. We paid for a 1 hour couples massage with 2 add ons each. We spent 10 mins in the hallway going back and forth and another 10 mins going over her rules before we changed. WORST MASSAGE EVER! My friend asked for a heated pad as an add on. Instead of a heated pad massage, She placed a towel with heated bags placed on them on they back! I asked for hot stones as a add on and she only rubbed them on my back for 7 secs before putting them away. The back of my arm, hands, feet, and thighs, WAS NOT massaged at all on me or my ffriend and we did not recieve our 2nd add on. The appointment time was set for 12:30 after 20 mins of wasted time in the beginning she ends the massage at 1:23. We only received a 37 min poorly done massage! Nyesha Anderson took a relaxing experience and turned it into a horrible experience. I'll never return to carpe diem nor will I advise anyone to go there. Going to carpe diem and getting a massage by NYESHA ANDERSON was complete WAISTE of MONEY and TIME! I walked out of her place feeling horrible from the bad experience and ruder customer service. My experience at Carpe Diem never made it past text. It was the Wish version of a massage. I paid for a couple's massage, but upon payment, it was switched up a 90min massage and 20min steamroom. I reached out to the number to fix it and book. The customer service was horrible. Instead of correcting her mistake, I was verbally abused, my reading comprehension skills were questioned, and refused a refund by both Groupon and the Carpe Diem representative. Additionally, if you use Groupon, they only conduct business via text with condescending messages filled with emojis. Only customers who book directly through them are blessed with a phone appointment. The business representative referred to as a "f*cking moron." Last, I was threatened with a police report for harassment. Apparently, requesting a refund is grounds for harassment. Instead of using your hard earned funds on a text warrior who threatens to abuse and misuse the police by taking away their focus from those who experience actual emergencies, I suggest you spend your money on a real business with a real booking website. read more

She says I listed the wrong number (google auto-filled my number). Then she threated me with a police report for harassment if i contacted her again. Neysa listened to me and worked on the spots that I talked about and always checked to make sure the pressure level was just right. The location is very clean and professional.
