Great pasta dishes in particular the mushroom pasta with porcini is uber delicious. We shared a chicken Parmesan and the pasta dish (linguine del selvaggio) and that was plenty of great food for two of us. We had the grilled squid for appetizer- this was no good; it was tough and very chewy. Service was very good as the restaurant was not busy on the Monday night. The construction outside in front of the restaurant was very unpleasant. As such reducing two stars (one for the squid and the other for the ambiance). read more

Absolutely phenomenal food and service! The prices are decent for the amount of food received but it's definitely a great Italian restaurant right at the Bal Harbour Shops! We ordered the linguine carbonara and chicken Parmesan it was so good and so fresh! The ambiance felt like little Italy and at night it's very romantic perfect for a date night! Have for the reason of going to Miami is to go to this restaurant and then go in there over 20 years and every time it's been immaculate the vibe the atmosphere is always perfect and the service is always on point. We came here for dinner and sat at the bar. Super cute little spot in a shopping plaza! I got a lychee martini (highly recommend) and the Linguine Vongole with white sauce. Our server was great and took good care of us. The waiter and bussers were attentive in filling water and clearing plates, etc. We never felt ignored or neglected. The meh part was the food. Everything we got was good, but wow, everything was expensive. Very expensive for middle-of-the-road Italian food. My margherita pizza was almost $30. The pasta dishes were $30+. Very subpar food for such a bustling business. I've been to the Bal Harbor shops many times and always see this place packed so I had to try it, but the food was a total disappointment! The most bland Spaghetti Bolognese I've ever had, which hardly contained any beef in the sauce. The tiramisu was also very basic and not the mind blowing tiramisu I read about in other reviews. Service was friendly and professional. We were seated next to a table of screaming young girls celebrating a birthday, which gave me a huge headache and totally detracted from the experience. You would think a restaurant like this in one of the fanciest malls could renovate their bathroom so it doesn't look like a hobbit's house, which ironically you have to trek up steep steps to get to. Today New Years Day Carpaccio was packed. We were able to sit at a nice table with a great staff. Isaac our waiter was excellent, recommended mussels with scallops in white wine sauce absolutely delicious. Friends invited my husband and I to this classy restaurant on a Friday night. Upon arrival at 7pm, we requested to be seated indoors and the hostess did so immediately without reservations (I believe they do not take reservations, but please verify). The two large murals with views of Italy together with the decorations instantly transported me to the Italian Riviera which was nice. The service was attentive and quick, the food exquisite, from the fried calamari to the main dishes and desserts. The restrooms are upstairs accessible via stairs and I did not see an elevator which might be an important feature for some to inquire about. I highly recommend stopping by to refuel after a serious day of luxury shopping @balharbourshops ... let me just warn you it's quite the scene .there is usually always a line of the door people just waiting to get in every night *note they do not take reservations but the wait isn't that bad because dear god there's plenty of people watching while you wait between the high end luxury cars pulling up and the people dressed to the nines it's great for people watching We enjoyed the spicy sausage pizza which was truly outstanding, mind blowing how delicious (especially being from my...that's hard to beat a New York pizza) Chicken Marsala with spinach and the most delicious potatoes ever And fried Calamari would also highly recommend the pasta fagioli Soup as a starter I'm giving it four stars because honestly the service was not the best thank god the food made up for the poor service read more

5-star food, 5-star ambience, 5-star service. Terrific but pricey Italian in a stunningly beautiful space with some of Miami's best service. My favorite food quote comes to mind: "off da charts good, papi"...unsure how to say that in Italian. This is seriously good Italian food, among the best I've had in the world, and certainly the best in Florida. It's a high price point (Caprese salad $22, basic veggie penne $24, chicken marsala $30), but IMHO worth every penny. My dad always says "eat in Italian restaurants that a Mafia boss has been shot inside, because those guys can afford the best"...There have been no mob shootings in Carpaccio, but for this insanely good food, bring a mobster's wad of cash. The socialites do "slay" with their designer wardrobes though (a woman we briefly chatted with while waiting to be seated had a sapphire ring wider than her finger, to match her royal blue Chanel suit : ) Ambience here is a cross between Old World style and New World Maserati. The interior is done up like a Venetian palazzo with coffered ceilings, gilding and panoramic Venice scenes. Everything, even the seating, is tasteful and posh. The scrum of Maseratis waiting to valet, and the general opulence of Bal Harbour Shops add even more glamor to the place outside. Outdoor seating can be a little noisy, so recommend the quieter indoor seating. Service is absolutely impeccable. From the front desk, to the wine steward, to the server, everyone was friendly, fast and helpful. The server even stopped by during a slow moment "just to say hi, because you guys are fun"...bottle that and sell it to any number of high-end, cold-as-ice restaurants. read more

Carpaccio is the place to be seen if you don't care much about the food so 5 stars for the ambiance. My review is strictly for the taste of the food which I care most about. I would say it's akin to a decent unlimited buffet at 4 x the price. We ordered calamari, burrata, and arugula and parmigiano salad for appetizers. The second I tried the calamari I was surprised of the bland taste and I knew the food here was not going to excite me. For entrees we ordered a pasta dish called dentice pescatore, capellini primavera, and red snapper, which were all decent but wasn't worth anywhere near the price charged. I hope everyone else enjoys the food more than we did but I will try somewhere else before coming back. read more
