Hubby's triple cheese burger was juicy, tender and delicious. BLT on grilled bread hit the spot. Friend's pastrami chili fries were a hit with thin sliced tender pastrami, tasty chili and cheese on top of the fabulous crinkle fries. Glad the Mr had tried it last week, and brought us in today. Great value price, 5 star quality food every single time. I have never had an experience here where I would not want to come back, or felt cheated for what I paid. I have been coming here for 6+ years now, sometimes I'll go months without it then have it and remember the gem I have down the street. Great employees too, always a great mood and service. Had to get dinner for the return trip to Sacramento. Went inside to order and was surprised to see there were only two folks running the show. There was no one in the very clean but small dining area. The focus is definitely on the drive thru. They didn't take my order until all the cars were through. I ordered a pastrami sandwich because the menu said it had pickles and mustard - my sole favorites on nearly any sandwich, or burger. Onion rings and a large chocolate malt. The sandwich was okay. Decent flavor, but the meat was chopped and formed. I saw him heat the oval slices on the grill then dunk it in something - a deep fryer? I don't know. It was so tough I couldn't bite through the meat. With each bite, I dragged meat out of the sandwich. Oh well. The bread was fresh and grilled to a nice toast. I'm kind of a pickle snob. Not sure what happened to Wendy's, but those pickles taste strange. These are very tangy dill, crinkle cut. Makes my mouth water thinking of them. Perfect old fashioned dill pickles. Yum! Onion rings were good, perfectly cooked and tasty. The chocolate malt wasn't very malty, but very chocolaty. Wonderful consistency - I had to pace myself, it was a delightful treat. This is one of our regular places to grab a great burger and onion rings!!! This place has been here for as long as I can remember. The service might be a bit slow and the tone on the intercom might seem a little rough but the food makes up for it!!! Nice size burger and the rings are some of the best. read more

Came here with high expectations after watching a video recommending this place. Was really disappointed. Burgers were small, but tasted ok. They were good, but nothing special. I'd recommend Country Boy or Frosty King over this place. The lady running the cash register wasn't friendly, borderline rude. It was our first time here, and definitely our last. read more

The fast food is great it's a hidden gem! I had a $10 Philly Cheesesteak which was much much better than $22 7 inch crappy overpriced sandwich from pink lunch truck SIZZLIN BUNS on Rosedale food court. Been by this drive-in a thousand times and never stopped. On a whim and craving a good old fashion flat top burger I popped in for lunch. I ordered the double cheese burger for a base line for this drive-in. I found the burger to be pretty good but funny lacking that gooey dripping greasy flat type patties. Maybe it was a off day but a decent burger none the less. Will give it another shot to try some of their other goody's. read more

Great burger! Need to say that first. The only reason why I give 4 instead of 5 is because of the bacon they use. I don't know if it was quality or execution. I ordered the double quarter pounder with cheese and bacon and I was so sad to bite into a burger with the bacon hard as rocks. The burger besides that was cooked great as a griddle burger should be. Wow. Always enjoyed the food until today. Bad service. Horrible Horrible food. Wasn't even able to eat any of it. Burnt, so salty it was unbelievable. Forgot the fried okra. Being in the north side of town, my business partner and I decided to check this place out and see what the hype was about. It has changed a bit very recently, as they have a new photo wall outside, as well as a fresh paint job on the exterior. It's been years since I've been to this drive in, so it was a trip down memory lane. I tried a burger deal they had going on which was fries and a small burger. It was AWESOME! The burger was juicy and the sauce was delicious. I was also pleased to be told that they make their own mustard and ketchup; how cool is that?! The interior is a bit small, but it's cute and was a nice place for a quick bite. My food was hot and was the highlight of my day. I finished it off with a strawberry shake which had delicious chunks of strawberry. What a way to enjoy a fabulous Friday lunch. Great job Carousel drive in! :D read more

I love the smell of fríes in the morning, living across this great place has been heaven, my girls love the corn dogs there always fresh, I love there chocolate chip shakes are the best on this hot summer. The Burgers meal are out of my price range living on a budget Carousel prices are up there but they give you great deal on corn dogs which is great, that's all my girls like to eat any ways some corn dogs with side fries and your cold drink with that little slushy ice they use for there sodas are great. I live across y'all for 5 years never been disappointed you guys are always with A class clean place. Don't forget to pass by If your going through Oildale it's a gem in the rough and need to be discovered. read more

Burger patty is thin. We could not tell the difference between the regular hamburger and quarter pound patty. Fries were crispy. However, unless you LOVE seasoned salt you might request light salt. They make as you order so it is easily doable. We just didn't know how generously they used it. Strawberry shake was great. Prices are a little high but your supporting a local small business. It's really a hit and miss with Carousel. I've come here and got a good typical mom n pop burger, and then I've got the complete opposite, poorly constructed, soggy bun, over cooked patty kind of burger. I do enjoy their shakes though, only offering vanilla and chocolate, the chocolate shake is pretty damn good. This place is a bit over priced for what you get, in my personal opinion. The location looks run down, but the employees are nice and food comes out quick. read more

I'm a sucker for a good burger. And not those high-falutin burgers with the fancy buns and organic veggies. Give me a greasy burger on a well seasoned flat top, and I'm in Heaven. Carousel is your typical Drive In. There's a drive-thru, and a few places to sit outside, as well as a small spot inside. I wasn't too thrilled with the location, it made outside dining a little loud. But the entertaining people milling about was enjoyable enough to forgive the road noise. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger combo. The meat was a little overcooked, so much that it began curl up on the edges. It was also super dry. The bread was a little too soft and the burger crumbled in my hands.#burgerfail The crinkle fries were good, but definitely not my top ten in town. There could have been more seasoning. What really dropped the star rating was the refill charge. Seriously. They charge for refills. Nickle and dime-ing customers like that is really off-putting. Especially when I was only requesting a top-off before I left, not a full cup. Every other drive-in is a-okay with refills, especially your first refill.
