They were always kind and very helpful and always willing to offer suggestions and go out of their way to help their customers. The last several times that I have been there I have noticed the level of professionalism and knowledge of the front line staff at the counter has diminished greatly. Now instead of being helpful they seem to just be running people through and usually are very short and snippy. I have been in twice in the past week and found this kind of attitude on both occasions. While standing in line today the girl at the counter was very short and basically rude with a gentleman. When she asked if he wanted to add his number he said he didn't have one but his wife probably did. She then asked if he wanted to add that and he said he didn't know what it was. A customer in line had to tell him that she was talking about her phone number. When she rang it up she told him it would be 426. He handed her a $5.00 bill and she said that is $426.00. You could tell that this took him by surprise and he was not prepared to pay that amount and didn't understand why it was so much. He left the prescription and said he wasn't paying that much. As for my situation I finally just left because it was obvious I wasn't going to get any help and no one was going to go out of their way to help me answer my question. CVS Pharmacy you are better than this. Do Better!

I picked up my items only to find out there were only two of four items in the bag. Nothing was said about it during pick-up, nor was there anything said or printed that would tell me I was only charged for two items and not four. I asked the cashier about it, but she had to have the manager (female, long hair, slender) come out. Rather than talk to me, she talked to the cashier as if I wasn't there. Zero eye contact. I asked about the charge because the only thing I have says I paid $76 for four items. The manager says, "you were only charged $35." I asked how I would know that as she held her electronic device in her hand and said, "this says you were only charged $35 for two items." I asked if I could get something showing I was only charged $35. She acted as if the device she was holding was Top Secret and wouldn't show me anything. I know what Top Secret is and it's not a handheld device at CVS! I had to walk out at this point. No wonder why you only have 2.5 stars. I would give -5 stars, if I could. Poor service and bad attitude. This is the same place that refused to give me a COVID-19 shot because they didn't know how to enter a veteran in the system using Tricare. A little bit of delayed effort by the pharmacist who sat there listening for 30 minutes and did nothing to resolve the issue.

I have to point out; when I get a sandwich I usually get green peppers but they had mixed colors for their peppers. I made a comment of how I only get the green ones but that the mixed is fine; the guy grabs a handful and this sweet man picks out just the green peppers for my sandwich. When I asked the pharmacist about it, he said it wasn't his job to let me know that the prescription needed to be refrigerated. He said it was noted on the information. Yes if I had read the dense nine pages stapled to the bag the prescription came in, somewhere on that I would've seen that it needed to be refrigerated. When I needed to get the prescription refilled, I was told I could come in and pick it up. when I got there. It was not ready. The app showed it would be there the next day by 6 o'clock. This was confirmed by someone at the pickup desk. When I went the next day, again, it was not ready. The app now showed that the prescription had not yet been delivered to the pharmacy. Same thing happened the third day I tried to get it. I gave up and transferred my prescription to Wal-Mart. I've had several students who worked at the CVS pharmacy and told me they would never go there to get their prescriptions. As a retired healthcare professional, I can tell you this is no way to treat your clients. AVOID THEM, go somewhere else.

No one ever explained to us that there was another step required beyond our doctor sending over the prescription. We simply did not know. That lack of knowledge on our part lead to a negative review. It was a negative review so they called us. Ashley was immediately confrontational on the phone and called me abusive, although she was the one berating me. That being said, Ashley was absolutely cruel and callous over the phone, even taunting us "Goodluck" getting our meds and laughing for us to have. "Merry Christmas. Hahaha (a wild thing for a pharmacist to do) and hung up on me. All wildly unprofessional. I even called her back and attempted to reconcile although her behavior was abhorrent. It clearly did not work hence this second review. This is no laughing matter. Just kind of sad honestly. The other woman there seemed very nice. We will have to find a new place and I suppose that is what is best. Their management needs training. That's the bottom line. Disappointed more than anything. There are other compounding pharmacies. Kim's took over providing this special compound for me without missing a beat. I have been gradually moving all my prescriptions to Kim's, even though I have been going to the same commercial/chain drug store for decades. There is no difference in the price of regular prescriptions to the chain stores, so why not opt for the personal touch? If you're always in a hurry, or only refill your meds when you're completely out, or you like to peruse the various and sundry items typically found in the retail sections of drug stores... Kim's isn't that. Kim's is a solid health and well being community support system. The drive through check out is incredibly convenient, and it's nice to get off of the hustle & bustle of Russ Avenue or Main Street.

At Walgreens, I shortest I was put on hold was 30 minutes and the longest was over 3 hours. The lines inside have been 30+ people when their drive through would break, which was a frequent occurrence. I made the switch back to CVS a couple of months ago and I could not be happier to be back. I didn't realize how good I had it until having the terrible experience with Walgreens Merrimon. CVS has a far superior contact service where you can leave them a message if they don't answer and they will get back to you. No more needing to wait on hold. It is very easy to communicate with the pharmacy, the lines are almost always short and efficient. The calls are also made directly to the store (unlike the series of hoops and contact with outside representatives prior to talking to an in-store representative). Even when CVS gets busy or has challenges, my experience is still far superior to that of Walgreens. If you are looking for a great pharmacy in the NAVL area, CVS is the way to go!
