My niece's engagement party was recently held here. I was pleasantly surprised for a buffet for 50ish people. The craft cocktails were very awesome, particularly the spicy passion fruit margarita. We have been to Carolina Blue multiple times over the past several years. We have not been there in 2026. As usual, after a show at the Pitman Broadway Theater we went there on Sunday July 12, 2026. To our utter amazement the restaurant was filled with a squadron of flies throughout the building. We ordered anyway thinking that management would solve the fly problem. Not a chance. However, when the food came we were extremely disappointed. In particular my wife ordered the She Crab Soup which was tasteless. I ordered the French Onion soup that was bitter!?! I also ordered Deviled Eggs which were not edible and Onion Rings which were good. However, the flies kept us changing tables to avoid them. Ultimately, we had them box up my wife's entree and my Rings. I complained to the Manager who said he did not know why there were so many flies. The Board of Health should look into this place but we will never return. read more

Food is always fresh and well prepared. The menu could improve by making less food items with bacon. I dont eat pork which limits my selection because almost every item has some type of pork incorporated and I dont feel like the hassle of requesting no pork. I always go for the beef and seafood items and I am never disappointed. The oysters were fresh and filling. The ribs and burnt brisket ends were excellent , they were paired well with mash potatoes, asparagus and pickled onions. I will say the burnt ends needed some type of starch to give it balance ; I ended up stealing potatoes from by husband. The mocktails are great and I love that as an option since I dont drink. The outside dining is a breath of fresh air (literally) and the service outside is speedy. I would recommend giving this place a visit on a nice Sunday afternoon. read more

Since I only live under 3 miles from here I frequent The Blue quite often. I just wanted to mention that I had the bacon wrapped scallops tonight, not only were they the largest scallops I have ever seen, they were cooked perfectly and wrapped in thick smoked bacon. This was my second time here. The first time we ate outdoors with no problems. Yesterday we ate indoors at the bar and once again the food was great. But it was difficult to enjoy the food with all the swarming flies. This place has a serious fly infestation problem. I was literally swatting away flies the entire time I was there. Came in for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. I was seated immediately and my server came over to take my order. I ordered the cranberry goat cheese salad with the added grilled chicken. The salad came out maybe 15 minutes later, but without the chicken. It took another 15 minutes to get the chicken added, but when it finally did arrive, it was delicious. The chicken had amazing flavor and a few crispy edges from the grill. The staff were friendly and apologetic about the mistake. I stayed for the caramel pretzel brownie a la mode and was not disappointed. The brownie had a nice chew and the caramel and ice cream were perfect touches. The area I was seated in was nearby the bar and you could tell that this was a place for locals to meet up. The tables were all clean, there were plenty of windows letting in natural light, and the bathrooms were also pretty clean. I'll be back for some BBQ, next time. read more

I was excited to come here but sadly it was just ok. I actually probably won't be back. It was very dark in there I couldn't see the menu or what I was eating. I had the bacon wrapped scallops which were a really good size except for one no big deal tho I get. It probably goes by weight and the other ones were huge. The bacon they were wrapped in was awesome. My half rack of ribs was mediocre at best. The sauce is really good. It's actually one of the best I've had. Sadly only two of the ribs were cooked correctly the rest of the rack was like eating wood off of a bone. The coleslaw was ehh the fries were great. Our service was awesome but beers are insanely priced. Roughly 2-3 dollars more per beer on the craft menu than most places. I really wish yelp had half star ratings because I would give them a 2.5 overall. I definitely did not feel I got a great value for my money. read more

Been to Carolina Blue a few times and the food here has been consistently tasty. The sweet potato fries and the cheese cake dipping sauce are really good. The ribs are also a good choice. It seems I set my expectations too high. *sigh* This was not our first experience at Carolina Blue, but it was our first time ordering any of their BBQ menu items. Our first time around I tried one of the salads and french onion soup while J got the Mac and cheese...all was delicious! This time around, we shared the french onion, which is consistently tasty. I ordered the half-rack of ribs, since they've won the "best of south Jersey" award....to be honest, I'm confused HOW?! They were awful- extremely fatty and overly salted. I couldn't even stomach the idea of finishing them. They came with a slaw which had no flavor and French fries that were OK. J got the pulled pork sandwich and it was nothing to write home about. The only saving grace for this meal was the semi-speedy prep/delivery time. Unfortunately, that won't be enough to keep our business in the future. read more

If the area that we were sitting was clean and not all sticky the table was the worst it looked and felt like layers not to mention the floor and chairs. The food was delicious and the service was meh!! Okay. He was watching the Phillies and forgot to check back. After when we were leaving I talked to the manager Karl he was very pleasant and I took him to the area that we were seated I noted how sticky the table was and it was layers of stuff over time that made it that way. That is the responsibility of the wait staff. I also noted how slick and sticky the floor was. He agreed with me and said that they were having a problem getting cleaning help. He apologized and said that he would talk to the owner. We are the ladies who lunch and we only eat at local restaurants. The Telford is one of our favorites that was why we were so disappointed. My first time here , ordered something simple, 2 salads , a wedge and a goat cheese salad , crab dip for appetizer, and a water , the crab dip came out , extremely fishy yuck !!! Are salads we waited 1 hour to come how hard is it to make a salad with 3 ingredients, and mine I never ate it was wrong , so I sent it back and got nothing else . Nicole our server forgot other customers salads as I heard 2 others at tables tell her that they never got their salad , and she just brushed it off . I asked why did it take so long for our salad she said the computer has problems, but I reminded her twice . I'll never come back here , awful ; when we left . We did a catering order for my husbands birthday this weekend. The food was incredible, all of our guests complimented how good it was and most people got seconds and thirds. The service was also amazing. Something minor was forgotten when my mom picked up the order, but not only did they fix the error, they went above and beyond. My family and I were coming home from a sports practice and were trying to find a place for dinner. We ordered the mussels, mac and cheese, and deviled eggs as aappetizers, and they were amazing. All of the bbq options for our dinner were very good. The wait staff were very personable and welcoming. They have great food options and would love to try more of when we stop in next. The inside is also clean and felt like a great place to hold an event. When we come back down here again this will be our go to spot. read more

They take reservations which is always helpful on busy Fri & Sat nights. Food was always pretty good, especially the burgers. However, we stopped in this past Sunday for the first time since March. Our table was dirty & had a glass ring stain on it. The wall the table was up against had a stain on it. The scan me menu wasn't wiped down it was so sticky & gross. My burger was burnt & was half the size of the bun. Bartender wasn't wearing a mask. I know restaurants are struggling & I wish I could say better things but unfortunately this one missed the mark for us this trip. read more

Service was adequate but nothing worth raving about. There is a wine/alcohol sales portion of the restaurant. Food prices were a bit spendy for the portion of the dishes. This spot has an excellent outdoor patio, which is not only great for alfresco dining on a lovely autumn evening, but also accommodating for my COVID-conscious self. The wine list had more options than I was expecting for a BBQ-oriented venue, and I was in the mood for vino, so this was a pleasant surprise. The beer list looked ok at best, but the cocktail menu offered a few creative samplings. The red blend I tried way rather yummy. I had she crab bisque to start; it took everything in me to not like the bowl. It was rich in the best way. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich at the recommendation of a friend. It was just BBQ pulled chicken on a potato roll, that's it. The menu didn't lead me to think otherwise, but for some reason I got it into my mind that it would have more on it. Nope, just chicken that fell out of the roll immediately. The flavor was good though, not too sweet or vinegary. I had my sandwich with onion rings on the side; they were banging! Perfectly executed fried onion rings. Our service was attentive and helpful. The lack of pizzazz on the sammie, and the minimal beer variety is what lost a star for me. We sent them back and, after waiting another 15+ minutes, the filet sandwich came back extremely rare, room temperature with a bloody bun. At that point, the manager was notified. He then waited another 15 minutes before acknowledging us, taking $50 off our $150 bill and showing zero empathy as we tried to walk him through the series of unfortunate events. It was a slap in the face for an overpriced, subpar experience that we never subject ourselves to again. Writing all of JG Cook's restaurants off our list as they have series issues in their kitchens and front of house. The fact that the manager tried to argue that the swaths of red on our bun wasn't blood, is completely unacceptable. read more

This place is great & so accommodating! I came in with my family (a large party of 15) on a busy Friday night. We were unfortunately sat right in front of a loud jam band! We couldn't even hear each other talk at ALL. The manager, Brad was the sweetest-- they moved us farther away and set up a new area so we could hear each other and enjoy our meal. Our server, Tim was also above and beyond - it is not easy to deal with my family - most everyone is very annoying lol..he was so sweet and was even able to help with separating checks. I had a great experience here. The service was awesome, our waiter -Ian- was super friendly and patient. The food was delicious and fresh. My scampi was loaded with seafood- clams, muscles, crab and shrimp. The calamari I got was cooked perfectly, and it was quite tasty. I will have to say I'm not a huge fan of the type of breading for the calamari but it was still yummy. While I was here, the drinks I got were on point- I had a bluetini(extra dirty) and it was fantastic. I also had a cosmo which was super tart and refreshing. The blue cheese olives have to be my new fav. I will definitely be coming back here and would recommend it to others! read more

Ordered the smoked sampler. Really pricey for what you get at $20. The steak was dry and way over cooked (and completely unsalted!), which seems to be a theme when I look at the reviews for this place. Ribs tasted good, but were not very meaty. Pulled pork wasn't bad, if a little fatty. No bbq sauce provided for any of it. I ordered the smokehouse burger that came with house made chips. It didn't come with cheese or LTO. I had them put the peach chipotle sauce on the side. Gave it a taste, definitely not for me. The burger itself was thick but a small diameter, and surprise surprise, way over cooked. I ordered it medium and it came out far past well done. The definition of a hockey puck burger. I sent it back, chips and all. Beer selection wasn't bad. They even had a few local breweries available. HOWEVER, 8 and Sand IPA#2 was on the menu for over $10 a glass. You can get that at the brewery for $7 max per glass and at local beer stores for around $12 for a 4 pack of pints. Total rip off at this place! No beer specials and tap list wasn't on the menu. Had to ask the server who had the list on a little slip of paper. In the end, they comped my drink and didn't charge for the bad burger. Only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of one. I'm amazed by the slew of bad reviews. From entrance to exit this afternoon, this place was phenomenal! I arrived with my mom around 1 p.m. She hurt herself recently and wobbled in, and the host found us a suitable table in the dining room to help her feel the most comfortable. They also have a nice bar area, a patio, and a small area to purchase alcohol for later. For entrees, I was torn between the smoked chicken salad and the pulled chicken sandwich. I know, huge dilemmas. I asked our server and she explained the intricacies of each -- leading me to the chicken salad sandwich. My mom went for the crab cake sandwich. While my mom said her "crab cake didn't taste like a crab cake," she still enjoyed it. And the chicken salad? Well, it's chicken salad and it's hard to botch up chicken salad, but this one was especially great. I love when they have celery in them. During the meal, I found myself staring down the artwork in the dining room. It's all so great! I want my apartment to be decorated the same way. If only. I ate every ounce of food on my plate, yet when our (very attentive and nice!) server asked if we wanted dessert, I went for the molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Which I also finished off. So good. It's reminiscent of those desserts Chili's used to have, but I haven't been to Chili's lately, so maybe they still have them. Nonetheless, I'd recommend. My mom also loved her creme brûlée. I'm so happy to have finally found a place to visit in this area -- it's in the site of the old JG Cooks and I'm not sure what took me so long to get there. Wanted to get back to Carolina Blue to see if anything in dining has changed. Made reservations and was offered the worst table. I asked for the dining room and was graciously escorted by the owner to a fine table in the dining room. My wife loves the grilled salmon and it came with grilled asparagus and mashed potatos. She LOVED it. Healthy size portion with nice dipping sauce. I always order the ribs as this place can make really good ones. I was pleasently surprised to see that the usual half order of 5 turned into 6 inside ribs that where everything I had hoped. Served with really good fries and cole slaw. We were both very happy with the service and the food. Prices are higher but isnt that the case everywhere? A nice place to have a meal. read more

Really enjoyed it here. A gem in the middle of nowhere. Even though the parking lot was packed we got a table right away in the large dining room adjacent to a pretty large bar with lots of beer choices on tap. My wife had a few specialty drinks which she liked and we shared the crab bisque soup, it was good lots of flavor. We ordered some apps as this was our first time here just to try a few things. Asparagus wrapped in panchetta with crab Fried pork belly Sampler with ribs. Wings and a pork sausage wrapped in bacon Everything was really tasty and the service was ok considering it was packed. Known for the Barbecue and the ribs were delicious, they had a lot of seafood items as well. All of the seafood is fresh not frozen and we had a pleasant experience.
