In the past ten years, my skin has been carefully treated and maintained by Dr. Zang, but it has improved with age and xerosis. A wart occurred on the breast many years ago, and it is getting bigger day by day. It was surgically removed by other doctors. Less than a year later, the same one occurred at the same place. After Dr. Zang removed it, there has been no recurrence so far, and the scar has long since disappeared. A few years ago, there was a lipoma on the root of the thigh, which was red, swollen, inflamed and painful. After the operation, he recovered quickly. Because her clinic moved to Flushing, I seldom go there. Recently, lipomas occurred in different parts of the thigh, which could not be resolved with anti-inflammatory drugs, so I went to Dr. Zang for treatment. One major complaint is probably my wait time. I made an appointment on Saturday at 11am and had to…read morewait an hour and a half even though I was on time/slightly early. My first impression of him was a little skeptical because when he saw my condition, he only suggested to have it removed/cut out. I had to consistently ask why it was recommended to remove because I don't want to remove something if I don't have to or I wanted to understand the condition better than just saying "remove it." After further pushing, I received a what I thought was a valid explanation of why it was suggested to remove/cut and I felt better at ease on his recommendation. I had previously asked the front desk prior to the surgery day appointment if they think my insurance would cover my procedure and/or if I would have to pay out-of-pocket (I've had other things removed before and never had to pay out-of-pocket, except co-pay). They said since I hadn't reached deductible, I will most likely have to pay out-of-pocket for the surgery. Based on their information, I ended up putting some money into my flexible spending account. On the day of my surgery, they asked if I wanted to pay up front for the surgery. I didn't feel comfortable to pay them for a service I just received when they haven't even gone through insurance yet. I'm glad I asked them not to bill me until after insurance (I had to leave CC info with them and fill out a separate form). Based on my EOB, everything was covered with insurance (which I'm happy about) but the only downside is now I'm stuck with FSA money that I need to find use of in other ways (since they originally said I'd have to pay out-of-pocket). I will admit that it's a very fast paced office because they have so many patients waiting which may hinder the amount of time spent on your case. I would recommend to constantly ask any questions or doubts you have in your mind because when you ask, the doctor will answer it and you won't feel as "rushed" or "pushed" into a decision that you're not comfortable with. The doctor originally said that I could go to work the next day without any problem and I wouldn't need any crutches. However, I'm glad I did the surgery on the weekend (minus the 1.5 hour wait) and pushed for a doctor's note (which I got thankfully) because the surgery was no joke. I was in pain for awhile during the following week (which I thought is to be expected) and I would not know what I would do if I didn't get crutches (although he said I didn't need it). Maybe he was trying the "tough love" approach, however, I'm more of a realist. I don't think I would be able to go to work the next day if I hadn't picked a weekend to do the surgery even though he thought otherwise (I already imagined having to travel to the city after surgery and packed trains, and going up and down a million stairs in the train stations), but I'm also glad I was able to get a doctor's note because I really did need it. I felt that some of the front desk staff could have been friendlier. I could somewhat understand why they are the way they are. They're located in Flushing and have a lot of patients where maybe their understanding is not as clear so they end up being very repetitive and losing patience with those people. However, I'm not a fan of them losing patience with those said other people and then taking it out on me because you just so happen to be the next person waiting to talk to them. Or maybe because of the high volume of patients, that's just the way they are, fast paced and just trying to get through the busy day. Anyway, my overall experience was a rollercoaster and that's why I'm giving it a 3. There was good and bad. I would probably give the nurses 100% because they were very friendly, understanding, patient, and willing to explain things to you in depth which didn't make you feel in as much as a rush (I liked my 2nd nurse better than the 1st nurse I met when I had the consultation). I didn't agree with all the advice the doctor gave me but was glad I was able to push to get the things I needed/wanted to make it work for me. I'm glad I got to see the real Dr Cui and he was the one that did my surgery. I did have to wait half an hour during my follow up appointment when they said it would be a quick in and out, but I'll blame that on myself because I was warned it would be cutting it close to their lunch break. Anyway, my number one tip would probably be to make the earliest weekday appointment (maybe the wait time is better) and don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing. ASK until you're satisfied.

This area being mainly Asian it's understandable the majority of the staff would be as well. They have been friendly both on the phone and in person. Accommodating when I need to change my scheduled appointment. Speak English clearly and never have to wait for long. Perhaps it's because I'm always at least 20 or 30 minutes early, which is actually required for any busy office. This office is quite busy and it can get crowded. If you go in late or go with an attitude, I'm a firm believer you have nothing to complain about. Their job is not easy so if you expect good treatment try to treat them with respect, you will receive the same. I like that they explain clearly the procedure prior to any treatment. That's why they offer a free consultation. Don't try to sell you anything but offer frequent deals, so be sure to ask. Honestly they treat people from all ages. I had a couple of questions for her and she seemed to just want to get the appointment over with. I paid over $100 for a 5 minute consultation. They didn't even want me to sit on the bed with disposable paper, I sat on a fold chair.. Pretty disappointed. Also, her office has an uncomfortable policy of holding your full credit card info for payment or you will have to pay a $95 dollar deposit if you don't want to do that. I understand the sentiment behind this policy but out of all of the doctors I've gone to in my life, I've never had to do this. The equipment I saw was also quite old.
