So I had just left my doctors appointment and was on my way home when I decided to to check the liquor store near my house to see if they had any chicharrones (sp) I had to make a u turn legally of course when I saw this restaurant. So I go inside and I'm glad I did I got a chicken wet burrito and said it would be 10 minutes, and I was surprised at 3 in the afternoon and it was only 1 couple inside eating the lady that took my order was very nice and polite . 10 minutes later I got my order and was headed home when I got home and started to eat this burrito was HUGE so huge I ate it thru out the day and night, and it was tasty I will be returning if I had 1 complaint it would not be about the food but the parking, the lot is so small I had to go in and out twice to find parking but the food more than makes up for the parking. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended. I tried it for the first time. The food was delicious, the hard shelll tacos, asada were definitely a 10/10. The regular tacos carnitas were really good. All the topping on the tacos were nice and fresh, very tasty. Now here's the not so good part, we didn't get greeted, just saying. We greeted the cashier, unfortunately she wasn't friendly. The menu has several choices, but I decided to allow the waitress to decide for me. She selected the carne asada torta. And I'm glad she did. The meat so tender and the bread toasted just right. The helpful server helped me navigate between the two options for Birria de Chivo - the plate or the bowl of soup. She suggested the plate which came with a small bowl of soup and a couple of tortillas on the side.I had chosen Carnitas El Indio hoping to score a plate of Mojarra Frita for lunch but when I saw Chivo, one of my favs, I knew I had to abandon my original plans. This is our favorite place for a wet carne asada burrito with green sauce. There is no rice in the burrito but it has guacamole and lots of meat and not an excessive amount of beans. We love our favorite server Miss Lupe. Just the sweetest and takes very good care of my families order. Knows exactly how we like our food and we only come about once a month. I found this hole in the wall a while back and have been eating at this restaurant several times in the past 2 months. I found this place using yelp as well as my co-worker comes here and gets the birria soup made with goat. We came here last week on a pretty crowded day as it was Sunday. When we opened up the doors, we noticed the only seats available were at the bar area while all the tables were completely full with customers. We were greeted immediately upon seating, given our menus and asked what we would like to drink. We settled on 2 corona's while we were deciding on what to eat. When the corona's came to our table, do did chips and salsa which were so amazing as the chips were nice and hot and the salsa was just perfect on it's spice. I asked for a carne asada burrito wet with extra green sauce while the partner settled on a carne asada torte. Our food came out fairly quickly and we were greeted with good size portions of food. The carne asade burrito was smothered in cheese and green sauce on top and tasted amazing. The torte was good but not exceptionally wonderful because I think the breading could have been made a lot better. The service here is always pretty good as there always running around being over worked trying to get to everyone with the little staff they have on hand. The only cons I have is the parking is pretty small and is shared with numerous other stores in the complex and I always seem to have difficulty finding parking if I come in the afternoon on a busy time for them. The other con that I have is when you pay for your bill using a credit card, you give them the card and typically you have to sign and give a tip but with this restaurant, there is no signing and it won't let you give a tip using your credit card so I didn't have any cash on me which I never do and felt so bad by not leaving the hard working waitress a tip and they never even asked me if I wanted to add some extra to my card for a tip. This needs to be fixed as these waitresses work so hard and expect a tip at the end. I love this place and I will keep coming back but I now know to either bring cash with me or tell them how much extra to add to my card for the tip. read more

This is a restaurant my parents have been coming to since before I was born, which would be for over 19 years. This family-run business has literally seen me grow up because of the frequency of our visits. They know us by name and know what me and my mom orders- my dad would often switch up his orders. The staff are always so friendly, the prices are good, clean establishment and the food was amazing. Several years ago, a car crashed into the establishment and it was closed for a good year and a half to fix it up. Once it reopened, the quality was staggered a bit and it made me and my parents hesitant to go back, but after awhile, the staff bounced back and were providing the same great service and taste, as if the restaurant never stopped operating to begin with. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to try one of the best, authentic Mexican restaurants in Southern California! read more

Nostalgia Central. My family has been coming here since 1975. Fantastic food, fantastic service. Every time I come here, I remember my aunt working here when I was a kid. It has since closed, and I decided to give this place a try, assuming it was the same, since the name was similar. Alas, not even close. I use to come here as a kid but now that I am older i try to avoid this place due to the prices being way too high for their mediocre food. I made the mistake of coming here when i ordered a wet burrito with a large horchata to go and it totaled up to $15, (what the hell are they thinking!??) to top it all off the sauce that i payed for was barely even visible that i was better off getting a regular burrito to save me a couple dollars.To make things worse the styrofoam trays they use come with 3 Compartments so that means 2 dry areas in your tray that get in your way to fully enjoy your meal. On second thought they probably use those on purpose to save them from rightfully serving us the sauce to fill up our whole tray. I'm done with El Indio. (the burrito is small, 3 bites and it's gone.)
