The problem with the Tesla .

CarMax doesn't abide by their policies. They do shady business. I do want to say on our first visit to CarMax we bought an Audi, that the first guy that helped us was great. Thank you Allante for helping us. Unfortunately we had to return the Audi because it had issues. On our second visit to CarMax to return the Audi and purchase the Tesla the second guy that helped us sat directly behind Allante's desk and because it was Allante's day off, he had to cover for him without any commission treated us differently. He's about 6'2 with black glasses. He was very bland towards us as if he didn't want to help us. Unfriendly and judgmental. He wouldn't allow us to test drive nor take a look at the second car before purchasing it. Which we thought was very rude, unprofessional, and unusual, but we needed a car so we went ahead and purchased the Tesla. The Tesla ended up having charging issues. It wouldn't charge to full capacity. So unfortunately time wasted again and we needed to exchange it yet again. On our third visit to CarMax to return the Tesla we needed to purchase a different Tesla. They had no issues buying the Tesla back. But when it came to repurchasing a third car this time they wouldn't sell us a car. They said we were banned from doing business with and wouldn't give us a reason. They left my small child, my wife, and I without a car. If they didn't want to do business with me why did they purchase the Tesla back from me without allowing me to purchase another car. Extremely bad business. They have no morals. They wouldn't even give me an explanation to why. The manager David was extremely discriminating. When my wife said that she would purchase the car, he said no she probably won't be able to get approved either! Without even checking her credit or anything. He assumed just by looking at her! We have never felt so discriminated against. I have tried to call Carmax customer relations and they even said they don't know why we were banned. I felt I was banned from being discriminated against because I have absolutely done nothing wrong for them to ban me.

After researching our vehicle for weeks, we found the perfect one in Wisconsin! There were no other vehicles around with the specific features, in our price range, low mileage, no accidents and one owner. So we had it shipped to Carmax Greenwood. It was the worse location we could have chosen. When we went to test drive the 1st thing we noticed was the low tire tread. When spending almost 40k on a vehicle, who wants to buy new tires a couple of months later. Once mentioned to the sales rep, she agreed to measure and said since we were so close the Carmax standard she would mention to the manager to see if they could be replaced. Shane Sherrill looked at us and shook his head no. I said to him the tires will need to be replaced in a couple of months. Shane's response was we have a standard, the car must not be for you. I told him I had the vehicle shipped, he then said I'll refund your money. Shane already had it made up in his mind he wasn't going to do anything to help us, nor did he want us to have the vehicle. When my husband asked to see the standard, he told him he doesn't need to show him anything. Since we over heard Shane belittling the female sales rep asking if she knew how to measure the tires, she came back with 2 different measurements we asked Shane to measure. He initially refused. After getting in my husband's face, trying to create a scene and embarrass him, Shane went to measure. He stormed back in saying the original tool the rep was using was broken. At that point he decided to show my husband the standard. When my husband asked if he could keep the pamphlet or take a picture, Shane told him to use common sense. He continued to get closer to my husband's face as if he wanted to intimidate or provoke him. The remaining staff kept their heads down as if this was his normal unprofessional, nasty, rude, condescending behavior. I asked corporate to run the footage in the store and I have no idea how Shane still has a job, let alone a management position. We ended up having the vehicle shipped to the Indianapolis location where the tires were replaced and completed our purchase a week later. If you see Shane at a dealership go the other way!!

Came with a family member to CarMax today, it was my first time here. I didn't know what to expect but it seems like they handle a lot of people but somehow flow people through their process. When you walk in they have an appointment display which shows your name and you check in with the "host". We did have an appointment and the person we were coming to meet wasn't far and heard her when she said her name and came rushing over. The car we were test driving was parked up front and she quickly asked for drivers license so we could test drive. I do like that we didn't have to wait around. That's always a pet peeve when buying a car, I feel you are always sitting and waiting but not here. Things moved quickly. I also like they didn't test drive the car with me. Another pet peeve of mj be when they wanna ride with you. Once back she decided to move forward they quickly started the process. Again everything moved quickly and they have all these little stations but the person that we started with is the person we were with the entire time. They have tons of people working and it seems very efficient here. The cons: if you used to luxury car places this isn't it. There is no free coffee, water etc. there are vending machines. It could feel a bit impersonal but you are getting a good deal likely. So it's a trade off. As I told my family member once you have the car you can go to the dealership moving forward so it's all fine!

We bought a second car from Carmax. It was unexpected as my daily driver decided to throw a rod and have its transmission go out. That's ok. It had to happen sooner or later. The process was painless.

Sold them my 2000 echo. It was very easy, fast and a fair price on an extremely busy Saturday.

Can't review on the buying or selling experience. Was told someone would be with me in 15 minutes but after an hour I left.

The salesmen don't know anything about the cars except what you can read on the internet and what they may have read on a brochure. When I bought my car it had 2 key fobs. One did not work. Grant, the General Manger, stepped in and told me three solutions: 1. Keys are too close together 2. Keys were in valet mode 3. get them reprogrammed at Tom Wood Volvo. I tried all of his solutions. Tom Wood Volvo informed me the second key fob wasn't even to the car I purchased. I took the key fob back to TruWorth on Friday, Nov. 29th. Grant, the General Manager, took my key fob and said he would get back to me on Monday or Tuesday. Grant, the General Manager, never got back to me. I reached out via 13 texts, 4 phone calls, and 2 in person visits with a 31 business day period. I do feel bad for the other employees who have to cover for Grant, the General Manager. He was either busy, "would get back to me", or out of the office. All I wanted was the second key because with a Volvo you have to have both keys to use some of the remote and app features, like remote start. After I contacted the Better Business Bureau magically Grant touched base. He let me know he had 7 other cars in the same situation as mine. I respectfully told him, I only care about my car. There is a problem with an attention to detail if 7 others are facing the same issue. The following day I went to Tom Wood Volvo and they had a key in stock. They had keys in stock the entire time, but TruWorth refused to acknowledge this, because they needed to again buy key fobs in bulk and not just one key fob. So, if you want lack of attention to detail, no communication, and zero customer service see Grant, the General Manager, at TruWorth. Also, after negative reviews are left they have an employee, like Ash, or family members Heather Hourigan (Ed Hourigan owns the Carmel TruWorth) leave a positive review to skew their rating on Google.

I can't speak to the buying process as they came up as an option to sell when I priced my vehicle through Kelly blue book. They were quite easy to work with and I interacted with several people, Ash, Chris, and Grant. Grant also explained to me that if you sell them a car that is a 2017 or newer, they split the profit of selling the car with the client. Who does that?! He said they have given over three million back to their clients. I had to go back to pick up my check on Monday because their finance department wasn't there in Saturday, but I would definitely recommend selling through them.

My sales representative was Roger Salazar. I bought this vehicle with the understanding that it had about 18 months of remaining factory warranty. That was a key reason I moved forward with the purchase. Just before the car shipped, I was informed of a camera issue. I was told it was minor and would be covered under warranty. Canceling shipment at that stage would have resulted in fees, so I agreed to handle it with Land Rover Los Angeles. After delivery, Land Rover Los Angeles determined the camera system showed evidence of pre sale tampering or non factory modification. Because this occurred before I owned the vehicle, they denied warranty coverage. I did not authorize or perform any work on this vehicle. This was never disclosed before I signed the paperwork. The vehicle also arrived with an empty gas tank and no floor mats. I was told a gas gift card and replacement mats would be sent. I never received them. I escalated the matter to the sales manager, who confirmed he spoke with Land Rover and understood the warranty denial was tied to pre sale tampering. After that, communication stopped. This has cost me over $2,000 out of pocket for repairs and replacement mats. I expected transparency and accountability from a high end dealership. Instead, I have been met with silence. I hope the dealership chooses to resolve this properly.NO
