Communication during that time was acceptable, but the overall handling of the situation was not. I was charged a $200 service fee, which I agreed to and signed off on under the assumption that my 12V battery issue might be covered under warranty. I later learned that the bumper-to-bumper warranty only applies up to 36,000 miles, and my vehicle was at approximately 42,000 miles at the time. When discussing this with the service manager, the interaction came across as condescending and unhelpful, which added to the frustration given how long the vehicle had already been waiting. Now, it stays in AWD all the time, which will negatively affect my gas mileage. After contacting Ford corporate and providing them with Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-2124, they were surprised I had this information. They agreed to cover part of the repair cost, but I still had to pay. This should have been a recall, not something hidden from customers. When I went to pick up my car, I had a much better experience with another service rep, but soon after, the rude service rep started texting me, arguing with me. Made an appointment on 8/6 for service on 8/15 at 7:30 am. Dropped car off and asked if it would be done today, they said no, likely Monday. Got a text 6 hours later saying they would not even be able to diagnose or look at it until Tuesday or Wednesday, that they were just now getting to this past Tuesday's appointments. Could have told me this before I dropped off or even when I dropped off. I told the service writer that I made this appointment 9 days ago and to have the car sit for 6 days is not OK. He said "I understand". I told him I'm done using them and same thing "I understand" not sorry or trying to do anything to help, just happy to see me walk out. read more

Don't go there! Had an appointment for 9:00 AM Thursday for a simple side mirror repair. They didn't even look at it until Monday - FOR A 9 AM THURSDAY APPOINTMENT!!! Kept the car two more days. Service guy told us it was 1 1/2 hour of work. They kept our car for a week for a 1 1/2 hour repair - and we had an appointment. When we picked up the car, the repair was not done correctly. Half way home we had to turn around and get the repair REPAIRED! There is no way we will ever go back to this dealership. Lack of communication at this location is absurd. I've had multiple interactions with them, so this review is based on the average of two of them. First, I bought a car from them, after making an appointment with them to see it, they "accidentally" drove the car 45 minutes to their other location, then tried to sell me other cars so they didn't have to bring the specific one I made an appointment for back, so I left. I get your job is to sell cars, but if an individual makes an appointment for a specific one, they want to see that one first at least! Most recent problem was with their service department. I made an appointment for repairs, and was never told to drop my car off. I drive the 45 minutes to their location, get inside, and the guy working the desk tells me I can't stay while it's being repaired because they were busy that day and wouldn't even get to my car that day so I should leave it with them over the weekend and they'll call me next week sometime when it's done... I had no backup plans for someone to pick me up, and I need my car for work, so I left and drove the 45 minutes home. Apparently they're supposed to tell you when it's a drop off vs. a stay & wait but no one ever did and this was the second time I wasted 1.5 hours of my life on Tom Wood Ford. On Dec 9th, a verified date by Service Advisor, Chris Redman, I scheduled an appointment to have my spark plugs replaced on my F150. My appointment was set for 12/26 at 9:30am. I received notification messages via text with directions on how to check in when I arrived onsite. I was extremely excited up until the point of meeting Chris Redman, Service Advisor. Chris met me at his station and asked for my name. After clicking around for a few seconds, he stated 'Looks like THEY overpromised you.". I was told when I scheduled the service appointment that my vehicle would be in and out within the day. Having spent my morning working around this appointment, arranging for transportation, etc.. I had a few follow-up questions for Chris. 1) When are you able to get my vehicle serviced? Chris' response: "It will be at least 2 days as I have 4 techs out. They should have never scheduled this appointment with you." 2) I made this appointment weeks ago, it shouldn't have been a surprise. Chris's response: "Well today is the day of service and I don't have the people here to complete the work." He also confirmed for me that I had made the initial service request on 12/9/2022. 3) Who is "they" that you have stated made this mistake and why wasn't I contacted prior to arriving? Chris' response: They is JEREMY FORSYTH, Tom Wood Ford Parts & Service Director. That's right Jeremy, Chris threw you under the bus. Seems 'they' refers to Jeremy Forsyth and his staff that schedule appointments for paying customers of the service and parts department at Tom Wood Ford. Here is what it boils down to, Tom Wood Ford & Jeremy Forsyth, don't allow your customer service reps to pass the buck onto someone else -- it's just not a good look for your brand. All Chris needed to say to me from the beginning is that we are unexpectedly understaffed and unable to service your vehicle right now. Instead, he displayed and verbalized his inner frustration with his manager, Jeremey Forsyth, which had nothing to do with the customer service issue that I was experiencing. I took my car in to these guys because it would not start. I was told that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced before I left the lot. I was later told that my AC compressor needed to be replaced, which they were charging me $2,000 for. I took my car from there to Meineke and was told my AC compressor was fine. I just needed to replace the serpentine belt, which was only $400-500. Almost wasted $1500 more than in needed to. So I would say that these people are scammers and they will probably scam you as well. read more

I received an email on Monday afternoon that included the price of the vehicle I wanted (minus tax and fees). I returned the following Saturday to purchase the vehicle. When the paperwork was presented to me the price of the car was now over $2000 more than what I had been quoted in writing less than one week prior. The manager said the salesman had made a mistake and the higher price was what I would have to pay. I asked them to honor the price I was quoted earlier in the week and expected they would. This Ford location is great. I live ~15 minutes from Circle City Ford, but will double the journey just to visit this location. The staff are always friendly in the service department, with Jordan being awesome today! I hit one of Indy's famous potholes today and got a flat tire. I have a Volkswagen so it usually (yes, usually - this has happened about 10 times during my time in Indy!) takes a day to get my tire in. They were able to get my tire in around 2 hours and get me in same day! Keep in mind this is all during the COVID-19 crisis while things are already backed up. My tip for this location is that the good coffee machine is upstairs. I'm a tea/hot chocolate person and the hot chocolate was not working on the main one, but upstairs was going strong! read more

We have over $7000 in repairs that we have to pay for. I have tried calling Tyler 3 times and left a voicemail. I have yet to hear back from him. Bought my Veloster on 7/3/23 and on 7/31/23 bake warning light came on, filled up resovior and light went off, 4 day later on 8/4/23 it came back on. Brake pedal as soft, had to push it all the way to the floor. Took it to my mechanic at Lockhart Cadillac. He removed the plate covering the brake lines, brake fluid came pouring out. It seems that the brake line had a hole in it caused from rubbing against a stud. Lockhart told me if they had sold me the car they would have fixed it for free, they said "it's just good customer service". Since it had only been 30 days since I purchased the vehicle. Yes Tom Wood told me that they wouldn't fix it since I didn't get the extended warranty. Once they get your money, they don't care. Good thing Lockhart Cadillac fixed it right, but icost me $285.... Will not ever purchase another vehicle from Tom Wood. Bad customer service. Update: Tom Wood Ford did reimburse me for the brake repair. Much respect to them for making it right. read more

Do not recommend. Its all about the sale for them, with no follow through. I purchased a used 2024 vehicle with 13,000 miles on it. I also purchased multiple add on services, including the zylon coverage of interior and exterior surfaces. There were multiple small scuffs that needed buffed out, and I was told they would be prior to applying this coat of protectiveness; they weren't. Now, they're there for good. I then tried to connect with my sales guy, and he went silent on communication back to me on how to move forward. Then within one week of purchase I need my A/C fixed, and they won't honor the fix under warranty because they said it's from an outside factor/rock. I don't trust that they fully inspected this vehicle when it was traded in, and now I have to fix something that was likely present at time of purchase. I've documented all of my calls and communication, and they all go silent on the Tom Wood end. I've given up, and gone somewhere else to have this fixed, now having to pay an additional $2100 on top of my purchase. Another thing, I've gone to the BMV in person and on the website, and they cannot register my vehicle because the dealership hasn't given them title information yet. I'm over 30 days in on my temp license plate. Called the dealership yesterday to find out what was going on, and was told it would be another 3-6 days, but they will get it there for registering. I'm not holding my breath. And if I get a fine from the state, you better believe this dealership will hear about it. read more

My truck broke down at work and I was stuck! Called Tom Wood and spoke to Jamie. She talked me through the options and gave me the # of a tow truck company. Got my truck in to the shop at 2PM. Was hoping for a diagnosis that day, but understood they could not get to it. Had to rent a car from a place down the road from dealership.Tom Wood no longer has loaner cars nor did they offer to help me get one. Just told me to mention my truck was being repaired a Tom Wood and I would get a discount. Sixth charged me $76 for one day rental, not much of a discount in my opinion. Finally received a text message at 11 AM the next day from Tom Wood. Told me my starter was bad and it would cost $900 to replace it . No phone call, just a text message asking me to accept the repair. Looked up the part on Ford parts.com , $350 for the starter! They changed me $500! What a rip off, and $400 to install a starter? Probably took one hour to do the work. I have changed several starters before. Not a tough job, but I was stranded and they had my truck . Jamie was nice to deal with, very polite and professional, but I cannot recommend their service department. Felt like they took advantage of me being stranded and overcharged me for the part and the install. BTW , they charge a $199 inspection fee if they diagnose your vehicle. You will not get the money back as they seem to inflate their prices to cover it. read more

Bought a truck here a couple months ago, was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Stay far from this dealer, they are all incredibly rude and lie. I do not say this lightly, I never do reviews but for the sake of others I am doing this one. Truck has been nothing but trouble, they lied about the condition of it and were dishonest with pricing and financing process. Trust the bad reviews, Indy has plenty of other car dealers. Before I got home, the mechanical problems already began presenting themselves. Overheated on the drive home, rear diff was leaking fluid everywhere in my garage, cam phasers were bad, vacuum system controlling 4x4 was broken causing front hubs to engage, thermostat was bad, windshield wiper motor was out, and it was leaking and burning coolant. My local dealer tells me the head gasket might be blown from overheating, and they are also investigating a shudder while accelerating. Truck is at the shop as I am writing this. It has been at the shop more than I have had it home, and it was no clunker, it was a 40k f-150. The only positive is that it's in good cosmetic condition. I would rate 0 stars if I could. read more

Needed a tire plugged because I no longer have the tools needed living in Indy. Called ahead to see if there was availability; there were times available at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, etc. Took the 9:30. Went in and got the car back pretty quickly with only a few customers around. As time went on, some people showed up but nothing out of the ordinary for a car care center (I have helped at one). At 11, after waiting an hour and a half, someone came in from the bay and said "yeah that tire needs plugged" as if I hadn't called ahead and came in saying it would likely need plugged and that's the only service I wanted if needed. It took another HOUR to plug said tire. For those who don't know, this would take 30 minutes at home with soap and a way to get the tire off. I was also charged $45 for a $15 dollar fix. Not saying they can't fix a car, they just will not do so timely or in a cost effective manner. Thanks for the business, but that is unfortunately all of mine you will receive and I hope others can view this and think twice about supporting bad service as such. A 2 and a half hour tire plug could potentially be a new world record I'm a part of though. Who knows!? read more
