The employee who initially helped me was friendly enough, but the overall experience quickly reminded me why I generally dislike car dealerships. The process felt longer and more complicated than it needed to be. I prefer direct conversations, clear numbers, and getting in and out without a lot of back-and-forth. The biggest issue for me was the interaction with management. Instead of really listening to what I was trying to accomplish, the manager seemed more interested in steering the conversation toward his version of helping. It felt like he was talking at me rather than listening to my questions and concerns. To be fair, maybe I'm not the typical dealership customer. I don't enjoy negotiating, I don't enjoy sales pitches, and I value efficiency above almost everything else. Unfortunately, this visit felt like a textbook dealership experience, and not in a good way. If you enjoy the traditional car-buying process, your experience may be different. That's nearly 4 MONTHS to repair a minor electrical issue on AN ELECTRIC CAR! It took them 8 weeks to just figure out how to fix the original issue--the right side turn signal light would stay on. 8 WEEKS! Then, once they accidentally stumbled upon the remedy for that original issue, they screwed up ANOTHER ELECTRICAL problem. The excuses that management has given me about why it is taking so long reads like a BAD THREE STOOGES movie. What really stood out was the level of service. Tom personally arranged delivery from Indianapolis to Chicago at no additional cost, which made everything effortless on our end. The pricing was very competitive, and after visiting close to 20 dealerships over the past year, including when I purchased a truck, I can confidently say Lockhart Cadillac offered the most reasonable deal by far. Tom is exactly the kind of salesperson you hope to find, trustworthy, fair in negotiations, responsive, and genuinely pleasant to work with. There was no pressure, no games, just straightforward and honest communication. If you're in the market for a car, I highly recommend asking for Tom. This was easily one of the best car buying experiences I've had.

What's worse is the lack of communication--missed callbacks, no clear updates, and I've had to chase information every step of the way. Now that the factory warranty is expired and the extended warranty that I purchased is in effect I've had no communication about rental coverage under my warranty so I'm paying out of pocket for Lyft and Uber. At this point, I don't feel like my concerns are being taken seriously. This is not what I expected from a certified vehicle or a Cadillac dealership.     I walked away from Hare Chevrolet and I have no regrets. I came in with a hefty down payment,…read moreexcellent credit, and was ready to purchase a 2023 Chevy Tahoe. My salesman was Corbin. Here is what I experienced: - The vehicle had a badly damaged rim and a chunk missing from the sidewall roughly the size of a nickel and a penny deep right where the rim was damaged. This is not road safe and is a blowout waiting to happen. Anyone with common sense could see that tire was a serious safety concern. - When I asked how that tire passed their inspection, Corbin told me his mechanic looked at it and said it was structurally sound. I explained that you cannot plug a sidewall the rubber is too thin, and tires expand and heat up at highway speeds. That is an accident waiting to happen. He did not care. - I had to fight just to get the tire replaced. Corbin then suggested I purchase a tire and rim warranty and within 30 days go to another dealership and file a claim saying I hit a pothole. That is insurance fraud and I was not willing to do that. - Throughout the entire process, Corbin repeatedly tried to guilt trip me. He reminded me he came in early to fuel up the Tahoe and have it ready. He told me he was pulling people from other departments just to track down a replacement tire. These are not favors that is called doing your job and selling a vehicle that is safe to drive off the lot. - The remaining tires had little tread left. They refused to replace them or reduce the price so I could do it myself. - The passenger side wiper was broken. Only that one was replaced but wipers, like tires, should be replaced in sets. - No vehicle walkthrough was offered. Corbin handed over the keys, said it had a full tank, told me to go have fun, and that was it. - When they couldn't replace the tire that day, Corbin wanted me to sign papers and have someone drive the car halfway to meet me Monday or Tuesday. I live two hours away. I was not going to sign for a vehicle with a dangerous tire and wait days for someone to deliver it halfway. Not happening. I left, went to another dealership, was treated with complete respect, and drove home in a Tahoe I love for a better deal with fewer miles. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.
