Pinecones resting on the engine between the coils.
Sean S.

Will never buy another vehicle here again. Several problems I have had. First, the roof has large dents in it and several small dings that were undisclosed. Second, had to spend $200 for an alignment it was so bad. Third, I went to change the air filter and there are literally hundreds of pinecones in the engine bay and under the engine cover resting on the hot engine. These could start a huge fire and burn it down. There was a random aftermarket wiring harness that looks for lights just sitting in the engine bay. It was still hooked to the battery. Good thing it didn't mess something up. How do you sell a vehicle and not even check under the hood. You know from this they don't do anything when they get the vehicle but try to sell it asap. Don't go to CarMax at all. What a horrible experience.

So with used car sales up, I decided to go to CarMax to check the value of my 2018 Honda Odessey mini van. It has 35,600 miles. Check in was easy online and they also take walk ins. I walked in and was met by Rebecca who stated she wasn't my designated agent but instead of me waiting she checked me in and got me started. I was then met by Zach who is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I didn't get rid of my car but it was nice to find the value of the car and not be pushed towards selling or buying a car . The place is very clean and conveniently located

This was not my first CarMax experience, but there is a reason I keep returning. CarMax is a great way to sell a car. They are trustworthy and easy to work with. This CarMax location is no exception. They inspect your car, give you a price, and you have seven days (if I remember correctly) to sell at the price they give you. If you decide to leave and come back, the process to sell it takes 1-2 hours (all dependent on the business day). I'd recommend selling or buying on a week day (even evening) because the weekends are pretty busy. Overall, it was a great and friendly experience. I will probably continue going to this CarMax location.

But of the 10 sales guys I worked with throughout this process, Keith Tennyson at Carmax is the best by far.

He was efficient in locating the right car and made the whole process feel smooth and straightforward. What stood out most was how helpful he was in answering all of our questions--knowledgeable, patient, and easy to talk to. It made a big difference in what can sometimes be a stressful experience. Highly recommend asking for Julio if you're looking for someone who is attentive, efficient, and genuinely helpful.

I brought my BMW to Fields BMW Northfield on January 15, 2026 for a recall. The car was running…read moreperfectly fine -- no noises, no issues. During the recall, they broke a VANOS bolt and had to remove the oil pan. While the engine was open, I agreed to replace the eccentric shaft sensor and paid ~$700. From there, the experience went downhill. They claimed my axle threads were damaged and quoted me $1,800 -- despite zero prior symptoms. After I pushed back and contacted BMW NA, they suddenly "fixed" it at no cost. Then I was told the car was ready. Within minutes of picking it up -- still on dealership property -- the engine developed a loud, aggressive rattle. I immediately returned it. What followed was a constantly shifting explanation: "metal in the oil" "just scratches" "failed bearing" "previously disassembled engine" "not our fault." At multiple points, they leaned on "prior mechanical condition" and ownership history, even though the car ran fine before their work and failed immediately after. That timing speaks for itself. It also took far too long for management to get involved. Early communication felt dismissive, and I had to push repeatedly just to get clear answers. The story kept changing depending on who I spoke to. At one point, I was told I needed to pay for a full engine replacement. After weeks of escalation and involving BMW NA, they shifted course. Final outcome: * Used engine (~93k miles) * 90-day warranty (engine only) * $1,100 out of pocket Yes, the car now runs fine. But that doesn't excuse how this was handled. This felt less like a transparent diagnosis and more like an effort to avoid responsibility until pushed. And as a final detail -- I picked up the car with the gas tank basically on reserve (~11 miles left). I'm not expecting a full tank, but after everything, that level of care says a lot. Bottom line: the car is fixed, but the process was inconsistent, reactive, and difficult to trust. If you service your car here, document everything and be prepared to advocate for yourself.

When you walk in you are instantly transported to a high end showroom of the finest cars. The salespeople are friendly but not pushy. I have had my new car for a couple years now and no major problems (listen if you buy used you are going to do maintenance) Long story short, I will buy another car here if they have what I am looking for. Don't be afraid of the outside appearance, like most things it's what's inside that counts.

Another issue it had was the AC motor needed to be replaced because it was very loud. I took the car to Audi and they did an inspection and told me these issues/failures/faults have been there for a while so its obvious that Ultimo Motors never serviced the car but instead tried to hide all of these issues. When I first went to see the car a few months ago Ben pulled it out and parked it, by the time I walked out there, the trunk was already open, the ac was on full blast so I am assuming that these were known issues and if I didnt notice the trunk drop as it opens I wouldnt have asked any questions. Also since the ac was on full blast, we couldnt hear the faulty motor. I even purchased the extended warranty for $5500 and the finance person told me that it starts the day of purchase so when i told him about the issues i was having, he told me to take it to Audi for diagnostics and repair. Whe I took the car to Audi to get those issues repaired less than a month after i bought it, the warranty repair was rejected stating that there is a 45 day elimination period wjere the deslership would be responsible for any issues within the first 45 days! Ben stopped responding to all my emails and texts, but when i called the office line he answered and said hed let his manager know about this and that hed give me a call back. I never heard back from him, so I started reaching out the manager myself and tried to get them to pay for the repairs which amounted to about $2600 at the time for the ac motor, and door latch replacements. The manager offered $400 at first but after multiple emails he agreed to send me a check for $1000, even though this should have all been covered by them. DO NOT BUY from this unethical dealership. Worst experience of my life!
