I also received an offer from Carvana for $17,400, and Driveo told me they would match Carvana's offer. Driveo sent an inspector to inspect my truck and told me I would receive their offer before the end of the day. I never received it. Four days later, I received an email from Driveo saying they were ready to buy my truck and asking me to schedule an appointment. I contacted the inspector and told him that I was still waiting for the offer. He then told me the offer was $14,250. I immediately rejected it. He apologized and said he had made a mistake and that the offer was actually $15,250. I rejected that as well. Then, within approximately 30 minutes of texting, the offer changed again to $16,000. The next day, I asked what their final and confirmed offer was. I was told $15,650. So, after initially offering $17,000 and telling me they would match Carvana's $17,400 offer, the numbers kept changing: $14,250 $15,250 $16,000 $15,650. This was extremely frustrating and, in my experience, felt like a game rather than a straightforward vehicle-buying process. I wasted several days dealing with changing offers and inconsistent communication. I would not recommend Driveo to anyone looking for a straightforward and transparent offer for their vehicle.

Later, the owner Andy (aka AJ) helped me find a used 22R engine for my 1982 Toyota Sunrader RV, and later, a hood. Both those were located in LA. Then after I bought the motor, Andy bought my no good 22R engine that his neighbor took out. My hood got all rusted out from being exposed to the ocean dew for only a year. Andy looked up something for me on ChatGPT, which I at that time last year, never heard of. Now I can thank Andy for introducing me to ChaptGPT, because I chat with Chat every single day. Andy also introduced me to a "really cheap, REALLY cheap!" (those are Andy's exact words) mechanic across the street that put in the used 22R motor I bought for $850 labor. Aziz was very accommodating. He worked very hard to get me and my boyfriend approved for a better car for me. I was able to trade my 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT, that had many many problems and it was due for smog and registration. I had a total of four cars to choose from, and with my trade in I only had to put down $500 in cash. Even though I wasn't able to drive off the lot for a few days, they went above and beyond making sure the car was cleaned and all the little issues fixed. There was a small dent in the bumper and they fixed that, the top to the sunroof cover was replaced also. When I got there they had it washed and even put a big red bow on it for me because it was an early birthday present for myself. Aziz was very prompt at communicating with me if I had any questions while waiting for my car and Manny was also great at answering all my questions and even making sure my name was spelled correctly on all the forms LOL. Each time I went to them in hopes to pick the car up, they were always friendly and always offered me water and of course a very large supply of candy which they insisted on me taking. I even asked where he got them from! On very hot days, they made every experience there worth it. I have already referred them to a friend and hopefully Aziz will have another client! I contacted several dealerships in the LA area over the next 2 months to find another well taken care of vehicle at a fair price. You would think finding any vehicle in a densely populated metropolis such as Los Angeles would be fairly easy, with a plethora of options to choose from. Not so much the case or at least not so much my luck until I expanded my search outside of LA and came across New to You Auto Sales in El Cajon CA. New to You Auto Sales not only had the vehicle (i.e. make, model, options, color, mileage, etc.) but it was also in outstanding condition and they offered it at a very fair price! I checked it out from top to bottom and it was in as good as a new vehicle condition. We made the purchase and drove back home to LA county. Once we got the vehicle back home, I had a certified mechanic give it a thorough inspection and everything came back 100% positive with no issues. The mechanic was equally impressed. Since the quote started online, it was an easy process to get registered by scanning a barcode and answering a few questions at the window. Once they test drove the car, the quote was the same. I was then given a list of instructions for my Tesla to reset it to its original factory settings. Please note that you have to do all the steps, even the step for the associate. Once that was done, I was brought over to talk to one of reps who presented the paperwork to sign. It was minimal and the explanation was clear. My balance due at the bank will be handled by Carmax and I was given the remainder of the profit via check. The process was pretty seamless! I'd definitely come back again if I have to sell my car.

Fast forward 7 days later I set up the time to purchase and honestly it was a smooth, quick experience. The only snag I had was I was only given 1 key, and photos on post showed 2. So I had to pay upfront and have them reimburse me. How much? $1260 for that key! They sent me a check in the mail for this amount, with no hassles. Well, I really was cheap bastard with myself for many years and decided now this is for me. And I love this lighting fast car! I guess my midlife crisis hit me kinda late..
