I visited Carl's Jr location on 03/24/26 at 10409 Whittier blvd, Whittier Ca. I ordered at drive thru and used my point to redeemed a waffle fry. I waited about five minutes just to receive this poor quality of a product that was obviously refried and given to me soaking with grease!! I don't care if I had to wait a little longer for a fresh item however when the staff starts lacking common sense and is negligent with food safety and handling this becomes a problem! Not only could I not enjoy my fries , but the grease that spewed from the soaked bag also got on my work clothes and on the seat of my car!! To add insult I asked Alejandra (the cashier) for 1 bbq pack and I was told the cost was $1.50!!!! I don't mind paying for a sauce but $1.50 for 1 small bbq pack is OUTRAGEOUS!!! They wanted to charge me $0.99 for a tiny cup of ranch, which is excessive compared to other fast food places that charge far less ($0.25) or include it for free. The food itself was fine, but the pricing for basic condiments feels unreasonable, especially given how expensive the meals already are. Just left the location after a very disappointing experience with the drive thru. The cashier Maria, was very rude. When we first pulled up, she told us that there was a system change and we'll have to wait 7 minutes and we said that it was fine. Ordered a famous star combo and added 3 tenders. Pulling up the window we seen that there was a chicken sandwich for 1.99, so when we asked Maria to add that, she scoffed at us, closed the window and walked away. Mind you, when she first saw us, she had such a mean look on her face. No smile or friendly demeanor whatsoever. She comes back and told us the total was like $30 something, and we said did you get the chicken sandwich and she was like oh yeah. Yells at the cook in the back to add it, closed the window before we even got to ask for extra mayo and lettuce on the chicken sandwich. Then she opens her window and says she has to charge us for the chicken sandwich separately. For what? I don't know. Received our food, and we asked for ranch and bbq and she said it's $1.00 each! Since when did you guys start charging $1 for extra sauce. That is crazy. So we said never mind. We pull out the drive thru and parked in the parking lot. Discovered that the chicken tenders were super small and she didn't give our Diablo sauce that comes with it! Checked the receipt to see that it was included but she also charged $1 for an extra Diablo sauce which we never got. We go back to the drive thru and the way she looked at us through the window was like she was so annoyed by our presence there. She opens her window and we told her she forgot our sauce that comes with the meal and asked why were we charged for another Diablo sauce at that? She said they had to. It made no sense. Overall the experience with her was very disappointing. So were the prices on sauces and the chicken tenders... so so disappointing. I probably will never come back to Carl's Jr again. Thanks Maria. I never really eat Carl's Jr but I heard they were doing some special pricing to support the community during challenging times so off I went to "support". I ordered one of the window specials (small combo) since I'm not a regular but I guess the cashier heard me wrong and ended up charging me for a Large, XL combo which rung at $17.80. I was surprised it'd be that much for such a basic combo so I questioned it and he didn't offer a refund for over charging the combo, instead tried asking if i wanted to add other items. I explained what I had actually requested and he said that wasn't what I'd ordered... he said he'd make me "fresh nuggets" to add to my meal but i was in a rush and decided to just call it a loss after he clearly did not want to provide a refund. Went by after a late night of work ordered a BYOB and a regular strawberry shake. Was over charged by 2 bucks the shake was watery the chicken stars were undercooked and cold. The lady at the drive through had an attitude because I ordered the shake didn't give me a receipt and closed the window immediately after passing me my order. Before some of you get your knickers in a bunch, and say that I should have rest the menu, I went through the drive through, and the reasonably, legible prices are for the sandwich only. The prices for a combo, even from the car, are very hard to read, as combo prices are approximately 1/4". When I called the girl ( in the window on it), she immediately said that it was corporate that sets the prices, and quickly disappeared into the store. When she re-appeared, I asked her if the restaurant if corporate owned, or a franchise restaurant. She stated that it is a franchise restaurant, to which I responded that if that is the case, the case, I may be wrong, but they should be able to advertise larger print prices on their menus. She stuttered and couldn't give me a response. I told her they need to address to that so as to not be misleading. She responded, in a very dismissing tone with a simple, "this is a franchise." Well I understand that certainly n things on a menu are at the discretion of the corporation, but I think the franchisee, in this case, the owner of this franchise, has the discretion to make the prices bigger on their menu. Conveniently located right off the 605, it makes it a good option for those on the road. Sometimes the line can be a little long, but typically it doesn't take very long to get food. We were just here yesterday, and it took longer than usual, but the food was super fresh and the fries were perfect. I don't mind waiting a little longer for freshness, I kinda wish all places would operate like this. Service is a little hit or miss as far as friendliness, but it's never horrible.
