Advertised deal was....Two for $6 False advertising
    Becky G.

BEWARE when ordering specials on posters advertised on windows on the restaurant! I ordered the breakfast sandwich "Two for $6" deal in the drive thru. When I looked at my receipt, the price charged was $9.50. I went into the restaurant and inquired as to why I wasn't given the correct price. The shift managers response was, "You have to ask for that price" Seriously! This is deceptive advertising. Ask for the price advertised on the poster? You don't have to ask for the price on the poster at any other fast food joint, or Ralph's, etc. Needless to say, I returned the food and had them refund my card. Maybe they wanted my breakfast sandwiches for themselves as I certainly didn't get them‍

    Moldy bread!

Food - Chicken sandwich: thin slice of chicken with brie but the caramelized red onions were so sour...it destroyed everything. I absolutely didn't like it. - the worst was the Greek salad. cheap mixed green (including cores/root), literally 1 tablespoon of feta cheese sprinkled over it, 4 cherry tomatoes, maybe 8 olives cut in half, a slice of bread and that's it, for $17. They should be ashamed to serve this. This is inadmissible for the price. Not recommended.

Sometimes... you can go home again…read more Having graduated from Vista High in 1986, Allen's Alley was always a mainstay for weekend breakfasts or the mid week lunch. I moved away a long time ago and I hadn't eaten here in over 40 years. I was glad to see that it was still a running restaurant (though the name changed a while ago) staffed with some of the original cooks. I had to order my same order which consisted of 1/2 order of biscuit's and gravy, crispy hash browns and a single over-medium egg. I sat in the back, sipped on my coffee, and just wallowed in the nostalgia of that little hole in wall breakfast place that still serves a decent breakfast at a reasonable price. My entire meal with coffee was around $12 and that's a bargain anywhere. If you are driving through Vista, CA and you need a decent meal at a fair price, do yourself a favor and visit Mom's Kitchen (there a small framed photograph of it as Allen's Alley inside near the door - give it a gentle tap for good luck).

It has changed hands a couple of times over the last 10-15 years. We regularly ate here as part of our Vista rotation for breakfast/lunch, but we had a poor experience a little over a year ago, so this was our first time back to see how things were. I lasted Yelp reviewed in 2018. There still is a small counter for service inside along with four tables for four and one table for two. Six or so outside tables for service also. One table inside occupied and two outside when we entered. We were greeted by a very pleasant wait staff who were extremely helpful and efficient. We had waters, coffee, Tea, very quickly. Coffee was very good with an assortment of creamers to choose from. I ordered a special Omelet with Chorizo and cheese off their chock board. Side of fruit ($2.50 up charge) instead of potatoes along with Rye Toast. The Toast was just one slice of bread. $17. My better half had the pancake combo, two pancakes with two eggs over easy, one sausage patty. $14.50. We enjoyed the food and service. The prices were fair for the portions and quality of what we ordered. We will add Mom's back into our Vista rotation.

Our server Jared really made us feel welcome. He offered great suggestions, answered questions and made sure we had everything we needed to have an exceptional dining experience. He checked on us frequently in such warm and friendly way - he really made our day. The Brunch Point venue is open and airy (great breeze blowing through), clean and contemporary. The outside patio is comfortable and perfect mix of shade and sun. Excellent food choices with really creative (and delicious) options - sweet savory or spicy. Fresh ingredients prepared with the perfect touches make for delicious dining! Our food came quickly and was perfect and beautiful too. Nice cocktail choices and non-alcohol cocktails too. See pics of my BP waffle below it was a complete work of art! Delicious too! The help yourself coffee bar is a brilliant idea. Never wait for coffee! There were about 8 coffee choices, both caf and decaf. Hubby said coffee was very good, unfortunately the containers ran dry too quickly and I never tried any. Next time! Right now their hours are 8 am -3pm. Yummy breakfast/brunch all day - and super reasonable specials too - look for chalkboard with specials. They are hoping to make dinner again in the near future. You have to try this place! So good! We will be returning again (and again) very soon.

The iced green mate is grown and prepared by them and is smooth, refreshing, and genuinely calming. There is a religious or communal aspect behind The Yellow Deli, and I do not claim to know or understand all of it, nor do I need to. What I do love and admire is the home grown, homemade, back to nature feel of their community and how much of that care and love clearly shows up in the food, the space, and the overall experience. This is not a loud or rushed deli. It is a place to sit, linger, and enjoy. The patio is charming, the yellow building is iconic, and the service is warm and kind. You can tell the people here truly love what they do, and it shows.
