Carls JR sucks. i think it sucks because the sauce they put on their burgers. it makes me wanna throw up. As far as the sides go, I hate zucchini, I love the onion rings but I love onion rings in general, the fries are OK but I like everybody's fries. i've never had their chicken stars or their fish but i dont think those things will make me change my mind. They have GREAT zucchini wheels so we stopped into the Cottage Grove location at about 4:30 , Nov. 5th. We ordered the "Buy one get one for a $1" along with the wheels. The staff seemed very distracted and busy in some sort of discussion. I had to tell the guy at the counter three times it was an order "to go". We were the only people ordering and only one of four in the place. The zucchini wheels were really hot and tasty. Bother burgers were VERY cold. I went to Cottage Grove today and had to have an appointment I was in a hurry so I decided to pick up lunch at Carl's Jr because it was close to the freeway and on the way. I ordered three chicken strips french fries and a root beer. The french fries tasted like fish because they cooked them in the same grease that they cook fish in. The chicken strips were burned. I didn't get a chance to take it back because I was in a hurry and didn't open it until I was at my location. I will never go there again. They need to realize that they don't cook french fries in the same grease that you cook fish in that's restaurant 101. I do not see how they could have got a hundred on their health inspection when they cook french fries in a Fish Grease. read more

I really try not to review fast food restaurants, BUT, when you and your beau seem to take the same road trips, certain places become the tradition to stop at along the way. This was our 3rd trip to the Portland area by car and the first one home with anyone aside from just us. My guy's Grammie is teeny tiny. I think she is probably about 4'10 and maybe 80 pounds soaking wet. She is in a stage where she forgets to eat, but seems to find her appetite when she is with family. One thing she loves is ice cream and milkshakes, so when we were going to stop for lunch, we knew it would be at Carl's Jr. (sometimes it is Taco Bell). We have been here before and it is always busy. The one thing I will say is the bathroom is clean and always has toilet paper. The food is consistent, and I like that I can get a side salad instead of fries. The milkshakes are deemed delicious by everyone in the family (I have yet to try one), so it was a good choice. read more

I typically am so not one for eating out at fast food chains, and I typically avoid American food like the plague but I have got to say the food I got from this Carl's Jr. was simply divine. I haven't had anything that tasted so fresh and almost homemade from a fast food restaurant in a very long time. In fact, I liked what I ordered so much, I dreamt about my leftovers and went back to order the same thing in 2 days time. I ordered the 1/2 lb Texas BBQ Thickburger. It is to die for. Gorgeous perfectly marinated brisket underneath a half pound 100% angus beef patty with 2 slices of American cheese, topped with deep fried jalepeno slices and onions and a savory sweet smoked BBQ sauce all on this gorgeous fresh-made bun. I ordered sweet potato fries as a side that were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside seasoned to perfection. Is your mouth watering yet? I know mine is. Not only was the food delicious but the staff was exceedingly nice and they were super patient as I was indecisive (so many amazing choices!). Remember. This is in comparison to other fast food places. Totally happy with this place. We drove thru. The girl at the window was really nice, food was fast (thats the point right?) and came out so hot we had to let it breath to cool it down. That doesn't usually happen with fast food. Not a bad place to run through for breakfast. We all got the Steak and Egg Burrito. It actually had serious jalepenos in its pico de gallo. My reviews are positive when warrented, but when a place needs work I'm honest. Its 8:30 pm, and the place is dead in the water. Its our first experience at a Carl's Jr. The place is a mess (the floor needs swept and tables need cleaned), staff are joking around behind the counter and it seemed onky one person was attentive and working. Our burger looks as if it was pre made and then heated up in the microwave. Even the bun was rubbery. The only thing satisfactory was the fries and the drink. Won't be coming here again. read more

Deserves negative 5 stars! Carl's Jr's are typically ok for fast food but this place is horrible! Kris Kut fries were soggy with old grease and tasted like fish, chicken and other indistinguishable gross flavors French fries were barely warm and actually got a few that were uncooked and still slightly frozen. Burgers were sloppily thrown together. Here's the real kicker! I went back to the counter to bring this to their attention and the reply was "Sorry, that's just the way it is with the evening shift, come back during the day, it's a lot better." No offer to re-make our food, no offer of refund or coupon for future visit, just a blatant admission that they know its bad. Shame on the franchise owner for allowing this. read more

Wow - they really don't want people to come into the restaurant. All of the entrances involve holding your breath and praying for your life while you navigate the obstacle course of the parking lot and drive though. We went here for dinner and like always they served us fast and nicely. I always get the low carb burger it really hits the spot. The drinks run large so a medium looks more like a large so I always order small. This was bad even for fast food. Spent solid 15 min waiting for the person in front of me to receive their single bag of food. Drove up to the window and waited over 5 minutes for someone to come out and at least take my card, but instead I watched the employees talk amongst themselves, minds obviously not on the job, cursing loudly and everything. I even honked to get their attention but they just kept talking and laughing with each other. 5 minutes doesn't seem that long, but literally no one had come out to so much as take my money, so after honking didn't work, I just left. read more

The woman who took our order, did NOT ask for my brothers size on his combo, and just rung it up as a small. I asked for a #14, the Santa Fe chicken burger and I was given a BBQ chicken burger. It was not very busy, and we were the last ones in line, so I doubt it was a "mix up" very displeased with the service I received.
