This is the place to go if you want a burnt burger. Been here a few times because my partner likes this place. The meat is always over cooked on each visit. Today was the last straw. Any further visit she makes will have to be by herself. The "Big Carl" came with two very burnt patties unseasoned. The burger itself was so dry it was hard to swallow. Doesn't seem like this is the type of place I would go. I was brought here one day by a friend who was getting food for themselves. I ended up seeing in the menu that they had the beyond burger. They make it like a classic burger or even bbq style with onion rings. I haven't tried bbq yet because the regular is just so good. I've never really been a fan of eating fast food but I love the beyond burger and I love how they make it and prepare it here. Also they have these criss cut fries that are to die for! I love the bbq sauce and the honey mustard. Both sauces are supper yummy even if mixed together. If you are a fan of the beyond burger this is definitely the best option I've had at any fast food place so far. They are also quick but not to fast where the food is fresh. read more

Ok, this is the only time I have been into a fast food place, place my order and then 2 cars go thru the drive thru and both get their orders before I do. Then it looked like my burger was made in stages (one patty at a time). I swear I watch the person in the back make 1 patty at a time. Even the chicken sandwich was cold by the time I got in my truck. Then to top it off the lady at the counter was on speakerphone with someone that was either he man or a family member cause they were talking bad about somebody. Today's a super hot day in Concord (97 degrees), so as much as I could cook my own lunch at home, the thought of doing anything that might make it hotter at home was just unbearable. So we decided to grab a takeout. Given it's a Memorial Day holiday, we knew our option was limited so we went with Carl's Jr., and I'm so glad we did. We got their Original Angus Burgers with some fries. Dang, the burgers were sooo good. Each burger came with a 1/3 lb. charbroiled Angus Beef patty, cheese, fresh-looking lettuce, tomato slices, red onions, and pickles. The beef patty was pretty juicy, and the burger was pretty saucy as they put mustard, mayonnaise and ketchup on it. They used a potato bun and it was soft and fluffy - I loved it. The thickness of their fries really reminded me of McD's fries which were great. And finally, when we were at the store, the lady who took our order was super nice and friendly. So, delicious burgers, great & friendly service, and at ab affordable price - heck yeah, count me in. I definitely would go back to this store and try their other burgers. read more

Tried the new All-Natural Burger ($6 sandwich, $8.79 combo). Very bizarre to get a fast food burger that actually smells (and tastes!) like a burger. For the price? Three stars. You could easily find a better burger for the price literally anywhere, though. They didn't have sweet potato fries, and the one clerk made an old couple wait for her to go to the bathroom before taking their order. Just...weird. OMG, I went Carl Jr on Kirker Pass in Clayton Ca on 02/22/2023 it was about 9:50 am I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese. When I looked at the way the food was being prepared, I quickly asked for a refund and the cashier asked why? I told him that the lady took the eggs on the spatula after they were cooked with her right hand and put them on the dirty counter as she prepared the sandwich with her left hand! I GOT MY MONEY BACK WITH AN ATTITUDE WHICH WAS MUCH BETTER THAN GETTING SICK OR DYING OF FOOD POISONING! Chalk this up to "I've should have known better" but I gave in to marketing hype. Oh how much I miss Arby roast beef sandwiches! So much that I tried to substitute my hunger with Carl's Jr new Memphis BBQ Thickburger tonight. It has pulled pork and BBQ sauce along with a 1/3 lb burger and onion rings on it. Now, I will tell you that I used to love the Superstar burger at CJ....used to. This new Memphis BBQ Thickburger has a thin layer of pulled pork....I just should have found a place with good pulled pork. First of all, this 1/3 lb burger concoction is $8.50. This better be a fine burger. So as I'm waiting, I curiously watch the cook make my burger. Two buns, a squirt of BBQ sauce, a piece of lettuce, (I told them to skip the cheese). Then my Memphis BBQ Thickburger is put together. The cook grabbed a couple onion rings that were sitting in a paper tray under the heat lamp. Then she pulled the pulled pork out of the microwave and put it on one of the buns on top of the onion rings. Finally, I watched her take a cooked 1/3 lb burger that she pulled from a tray on her counter and reheated it in a broiler. Reheated burger comes out and she pops it on top of the pulled pork. Puts the other bun on with the lettuce and BBQ sauce and wraps it up. I felt compelled to eat as much of the Memphis BBQ Thickburger as I could since I paid $8.50 for it. Not much pulled pork, that's for sure. I got through half of it. Pulled the remaining burger out of the other half and ate that. Never again. Faked by the marketing, I'm not going to sample the new fresh beef quarter pounder by Mickey D's either. Just give me two regular Arby's roast beef sandwiches and I will call it a day!! read more

Terrible experience! Staff was rude and the food was disgusting! Dry and thrown together. Soda dispenser was shooting plain water instead of soda on almost half of the offerings. We've been to this CJ's several times over the years and never had any problems. I suggest you stay away from this location for a while. My wife and I both had Famous Star Cheeseburgers. She said hers tasted fine, though it was flowing in mayo and difficult to handle for a lettuce wrapped burger. My burger was less than fresh and while it wasn't terrible, it had an odd taste. My wife wanted to stop at a store about 20-30 mins. after eating. When she came back, she said she has felt nauseous in the store, but seemed fine. After another 20 mins., I had to pull to the side of the road, as she began vomiting. We both concluded, that the hamburgers were the cause of her illness. I felt fine, at least so far. But, beware of this location! (Never have had this experience at In n Out)! Due to the bad food experience, I cannot give a higher rating. I recently had a bad experience with a chicken sandwich I ordered and was undercooked, it sucked as I was very hangry yes I am a monster when I don't eat when I get hungry so I made it home all the way in downtown Concord and oh surprise, anyway I call and the manager Javier answered, I was very composed and explained the situation, immediately he offered me an exchange, but since I was already home I just fried an egg, he continued to take my info and told me my next meal would be on him. Ordered the 1/2LB EL Diablo Bgr. ($8.43), Crisscut Fries and Jalapeno Poppers; service was very fast and friendly. That burger is everything they talk about on tv! It is large and hot with the jalapeno pieces placed on top of the beef. The Crisscut Fries are wonderful; and the poppers are very good. The only thing that I would say is that the poppers from Jack-in-the-Box are hotter but other then that they taste good. read more

Been going to this location for years it use to be the best Carl's Jr. around and the older lady's that work there were awesome, but lately it's gone downhill on the quality of the food. The lettuce they're putting on the spicy chicken sandwich isn't even edible and the burgers have been cold and dry.
