All I had to do was to call this office and tell them that I was ready for the rental. I tried to set it up a couple of days ahead of time, but they said "Just call us when you're ready." I was skeptical, but when I called, they sent a Lyft to pick me up within ten minutes. There were three guys that afternoon and they seemed busy, so it took about fifteen minutes to hit the road. Not effortless but not painful at all. Drop-off took about ten minutes, plus a drive back to the body shop. The guy that I dealt with both times was cool to chat with. He was working by himself that second day--with another customer ahead of me and the phone ringing off the hook--but totally kept his good humor. Great customer service. I had the car for a week and a half and didn't have any problems. As a side note, I will never buy a Kia Forte, but that's got nothing to do with Hertz.

I've done two long term (four or five week) rentals in the past few months. Both times the reservations were made through my employers booking system and I had no issues picking up the car on site at the Glenview location. The process for both picking up and returning cars is quick, and they've always been adequately staffed. On each occasion, I was also able to chose from a couple of available cars, which is a plus for me - I need something to schlep a few boxes in but don't need something overly large for just me. I should mention that the registration was expired on the first rental. I called right away when I noticed, less than 30 minutes after leaving this location. They didn't have the updated registration and assured me they would look for it. I never heard from them - and I had the car for four weeks. Not a fan of risking being pulled over on my daily travel (and I understand that Enterprise would be ticketed, not me - but who wants the hassle?), I changed cars after four weeks. The staff tried to convince me to keep the same car despite the new reservation and *still* lack of updated registration (by the time I returned that car, it was five months expired). Customer service has generally been good. Cars have been clean. I have another rental in a couple of weeks and then will need cars again in the spring. Enterprise is our preferred rental company so I'll be back as long as this makes sense for my job. ...But also? Someone should remind their manager that there's still an indoor mask mandate in Illinois. Regardless of how he feels about that or COVID, he should put a mask on for customers' benefit as long as the statewide mandate remains in place. I intentionally avoid interacting with him when in the store.

    I booked a car under my insurance claim as my sons car was totalled. The agent asked for the claim…read morenumber and approved it all and i was set. A day earlier i reconfirmed with a Libby at this location and everything was fine. Upon arrival they did not honor the reservation and came up with false excuses saying they had no more vans due to college moves, that my claim was closed [COMPLETELY FALSE] It is still active and i called my insurance again to reconfirm. As he saw i was so upset that a confirmed reservation was not honored and no one ever called me to tell me there was any issue in fact, Libby confirmed it again the day before, he then tells me he has a van but he has to charge me full price $125 vs $73 the discounted claim price. WOW how unethical how wrong in every way. This place used to be good but its gone south and now they lost another customer who lives 2.5 miles away. HORRIBLE in every way. Left stranded last minute so i rented a minivan from AVIS instead and they know what good customer service looks like

    Stay away from Avis in highland park. I never thought to check out a car rental location for…read morereviews beforehand as Avis is a big company. However, this tiny location is a small franchise inside the highland park ford dealership. After reading the horrible reviews of this location, this now makes sense. The Chicago Avis location called me this morning (1 hour away) to say the car I reserved in Highland park was now there. I have no idea how a reservation I made in highland park ended up transferring to Chicago without my knowledge or request. I then immediately called highland park Avis to confirm my reservation and an angry desk clerk named Oscar answered, claiming I never had a reservation there (as I was looking at my confirmed reservation.. see picture) screamed at me hysterically refusing to help and hung up on me. So, I called back again and screamed and hung up on me again and all this was even before the location even opened. But it doesn't matter, he should've tried to help locate another large SUV since it was Oscar who canceled and transferred my reservation I had for over a month. I never knew that this could happen. But, before he hung up on me, I offered to send him a screenshot of my confirmed reservation and he refused to let me, so here it is on Yelp. Maybe somebody at Avis corporate will actually care and reach out to me. I was shocked at his unhinged response because he was the one who changed my reservation without my permission. I had planned to drive my son to school and now I have drive an hour away downtown Chicago (during the riots) to pick up a car and then wait in line for another 45 minutes. Oscar encouraged me to contact Avis corporate to file a complaint against him, as clearly this egomaniac angry desk clerk either did not see his job as a threat or he just hates his job and hopes to be fired. Someone who actually likes their job would do everything they could to help others. This clearly was not the case. I would like to point out how wonderful all the people (namely Yvette) were at Avis at 214 N. Clark St. in Chicago in trying their best to help me locate another car closer to me. Unfortunately there were none and I still had to go to Chicago but at least she tried to help.
