    Nobody really likes renting a car. It usually means your car is being repaired or totalled, or it can be expensive, or not the type of car you'd normally be driving if you catch my drift. But the staff here made the whole experience a pleasure. It was easy, fun, and very affordable! Each associate was super nice and professional and the manager Jason goes above and beyond for the customers. A + +

    Terrible location! Manager is awful. Attitude, rude and incompetence. Staff was friendly, however. Will avoid.

Also I carry a 100/300/50 insurance coverage through St Farm. What you sell at your counter is not insurance. You can't sell insurance. You need to be a certified insurance agent. And nobody in your office is. You sell optional coverage. Illinois law states you cannot refuse a rental because they can't prove they have insurance. Car rental companies must provide a 50/100/50 secondary liability coverage. You have a program through Ford and Mercedes. Every vehicle owner in the world has that. If I breakdown in your vehicle in another state, you will tell me tow it to the dealer. While we are waiting for parts, I have no vehicle. My $7,000.00 vacation ruined. Now with Major car rental companies in all states, they would get me another vehicle. Wow! Recliners! 60 inch TV! Refreshments! That's because you vehicles aren't ready when customers with reservations show up. So you provide that while they wait. I prefer in and out when picking up rental. Not hanging.

    Out of all the car rental services I have used, I like Getaround the best for short trips (less…read morethan 1 day). I've used Turo, traditional car rental companies (Hertz, Enterprise, etc.), and Zipcar. I think Truo and traditional rental companies are built more for longer term rentals and Zipcar is the most comparable. The hourly rates for Getaround are fairly reasonable, much better than Zipcar, plus Getaround doesn't charge a monthly fee. However, there is a reason why Zipcar is so expensive: the cars are owned and maintained by the company instead of ordinary people. With Getaround, you're renting out other people's cars and so the company doesn't have full control over the vehicle. It is possible that you may book a car that looks pretty good in the listing but when you get it, it's kind of dirty or not what you expected because the owner doesn't clean/maintain it. That is not necessarily Getaround's fault. For me, I've accepted that this may happen (and it has before), but for the money I save by not using Zipcar, it's fine by me. I have used Getaround so much that I know which cars in my area are clean and well-maintained and I tend to stick to those. If you're not willing to take the risk that a car might not be in perfect condition, then I'd say you should be willing to pay a premium for that. I've had maybe 2 interactions with customer service and both have been very good. I once got automatically charged a lot for gas because the car is parked on a slope and that affected the fuel level recorded after I dropped the car back. I only drove 5 miles in a 22mpg car, but the fuel level recordings made it seem like I used nearly 10% of the gas. I got my money back after explaining to CS via email. Another time I dropped off the car and then when I got to my apartment 2 blocks away I realized I left something in the car. I was able to call a customer service rep via the app and they waited on the phone as I walked back to the car and helped me unlock the car to get the item and lock it back up. Based on all of my Getaround experiences so far I'd definitely recommend it if you're a fairly flexible person with realistic expectations.

    Crap cars and absolutely NO way to retrieve or contact the owner after you lock the car if you left…read morean item. They should at least provide you 1hr in case you did leave an item. INSTEAD their customer service (which is really non-existent) tells you--you need to rent the same car again for an hour--in the hopes your item may still be there..., SERIOUSLY. What BS. NEVER AGAIN.

Also, the event started at 7pm so our guests would be looking for street parking in the dark on a cold winter night. We had to do something! I contacted LimoAngel just one day before the event and asked if they could help. On such short notice, they were amazing! They were able to provide one SUV for four hours. The driver, Tariq, was excellent! He drove between two different parking lots and carried our guests to the Temple entrance and then kept looping around until all our guests had found a place to park. Then he waited at a designated spot until people started leaving and brought them back to their cars. I was in contact with Tariq by text messaging so I could let him know when someone needed a ride. It would perfectly! (I was in the car with Tariq when one of our guests dropped a plate if refreshments on the ground. Tariq gave him a bag of cookies that his wife and daughter baked for him! That was so thoughtful. I was moved by Tariq's hard work and his kindness. I'm very grateful for LimoAngel's willingness to work with me, on very short notice, to come up with a solution. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others!!
